Read the news again. They're Russian criminals deceiving Russian females by promising them good jobs in Israel then forcing them into prostitution. The same criminals take away these women's passports and keep them locked up so they (the women) can't run away. There have been many articles written and tv documentaries about this subject. A wave of criminals arrived to Israel together with the good people of Russia. Russian olim earned a bad name thanks to these criminals. That is not to say that there are no Jewish Israeli criminals but in the example you provided, it's the Russians who are to blame. It's a tragedy what's happening to these poor young women.

The reason people make light of women having sex with minor males is because usually young boys are after sex and there is a belief that a lot of boys fantasize about having sex with a pretty female teacher. It is not actually rape as it is physically impossible to rape a male. However, it is statutory rape and is illegal and female teachers had better control themselves and pick on someone their own size. Although it may seem that there's no harm done as the boy is a willing partner, emotionally he is unprepared for an intimate relationship with an adult woman and may suffer emotional difficulties later in life. Another reason why this sort of relationship is revolting is because these female teachers abuse their positions to turn young boys into sex toys and that's despicable. I can't stand the idea of a grown woman taking advantage of one of my boys. I agree with some talkbackers that these women should receive the maximum punishment according to the law, the same as the men do.

If anyone knows the name of the Yeshiva teacher please forward it to The Awareness Center. The odds are with time he will move to a new community and re-offend. We need to warn others of the potential dangers in hopes of preventing one more innocent person from being harmed. According to the report the prosecution is expected to demand that the court sentence her to community service and a suspended sentence. The convicted offender needs to be in residential treatment and not be allowed out into the community.
