4. Many wonderful stories
A. de Metz ,   Haifa   (01.09.07)
Israel has many wonderful stories which need to be told. Many Israelis, young and old, are unaware of the history of this country and easily taken in by the distortions and outright lies. Interesting, entertaining films are a very effective way to reach a wide audience - both at home and abroad with our message.
5. Where is Israel's Balls TODAY ???
malcolm   (01.09.07)
What happened to you Israel? You used to be cool. But now you elect the likes of Olmert who has kids who never even served their country.

I was also a volunteer and fought in an anti-tank unit against the same Egyptian forces Lou talks about. First, the Israeli pilot was Modi Alon, not Mudi, and second, I hope Lou will give a little more credit in his film to the gallant defence of Yad Mordechai which gave precious time to Givati, Etzioni, and Harel Brigades to stop the Egyptions from reaching Tel Aviv. And our new long-range heavy artillery made a substantial difference as well. Lou and Modi's effort was gallant in the extreme but did no real physical damage to the enemy. Their success was psychological - 4 Jewish planes suddenly showing up and dive bombing them as they waited to drive north.

it really doesn't matter who takes the credit, who did what and who was more involved in the struggle. because of you all, we are here, aren't we?
8. #s 6 & 7 - Importance of the historical record
A. de Metz ,   Haifa   (01.10.07)
Re #7 - I was aware that most Jewish cities were involved in the fighting - but New York ;) Re #6 - Accurate historical records are important and to this end I hope you and your compatriots have committed your recollections to paper. We need for all perspectives to be represented.

what i meant to say was that because of these heroes, we, the israelis, are here in israel, alive and well. i meant that their actions and defense has given us the opportunity to continue as jews in israel. just because i live in n.y. doesn't mean n.y. was involved in the battle.

Rachel   (01.14.07)
ACCORDING TO MY LONG TIME FRIEND, LOU LENART, WHOM I MET WHILE SERVING IN THE AIF MORE THAN 30 YRS AGO, THE TITLE SHOULD READ: "HE HELPED SAVE TEL AVIV. NOW A DOCUMENTARY FILM WILL BE MADE " LOUIS LENART, A HUMBLE MAN, IS A HERO OF TWO COUNTRIES, HE FOUGHT IN WW II IN THE US MARINE AND HE IS ONE OF THE FOUNDERS OF THE IAF. WHEN I TELL HIM HE IS A HERO, HE ALWAYS SAYS, NO I AM JUST LUCKY. LUCKY TO SURVIVE.

LYNN GARRISON ,   Port-au-Prince, HAIT   (06.07.07)
Lou Lenart is really a class act, both as a pilot and friend. I lost track of him when I was sent to Haiti as an advisor to that government. At the time we had been involved in a film concept - FIRST STRIKE - the IAF attack on Iraq's atomic facility. That raid wa the most important military event since WW 2. If Lou reads this I would welcome an e-mail. Best regards, Lynn Garrison RCAF retired haitipro@bellsouth.net

Netta ,   Israel   (05.12.11)
I've met you on certain circumstances today, a humble but proud 90 year old, and must say your story and personality really excited and touched me. More than that, seems that the other pilot you flew with, at the time with Weizman, my husband is named (partially) after him... I am happy to have met you and wish you much health and many more proud grandchildren.
