Because Peretz did this as a political move intended to garner support from leftist and Arab members of Labor ahead of a leadership fight with Ehud Barak. He could have done this when Pines-Paz resigned. Cynical. * Majadele and Lieberman do not get along. * Majadele is a member of Labor, a mainstream, nonsectarian party. He is not Azmi Bishara or his Assad-worshipping cohorts. What is Majadele's Knesset voting record on key issues? Does anyone know? Or is the discussion going to center pointlessly on his sectarian identity instead?
