1. A mitzvah to be publicized
Righteous Zionist ,   Israel   (01.12.07)
Israel's humanitarian gesture is just another example of her role as a light to the nations. Although such good deeds should be done quietly and modestly, this one makes one proud to be a part of the Jewish state. We must publicize such acts of kindness before the world, and as much as possible rub our Jew-hating enemies' noses in them. But they're sure to give the story a twist - they'll say it's a publicity stunt to libel the Muslims of the Sudan! Or perhaps we're trying to institute slave labour! Or perhaps the photos are all faked by the wicked Zionists!
2. #1
yes, a very big mitzvah. kol hakavod israel. no matter what twists the world will put on this act, and no matter who will twist it, israel has tome and again shown its humanitarian side, according to jewish values and torah learning. and don't forget the lift up and rescue of the ethiopeans by isralis years before, giving them a homeland and place in israel. acts of kindness such as these will only be twisted by those who wish us ill. good will eventually prevail over bad
3. Yes Darfur genocide.... Kofi where were you....

4. Israel: Thank you very much.
Roberto Gutierrez ,   Madrid, Spain   (01.12.07)
It´s very moving to see this example of Humanity. I´m proud of Israel, wonderful country with wonderful people. Thank you very much from Madrid, Spain. This world needs people like you.
5. Muslims are not being persecuted in Darfur
Freejay ,   israel   (01.12.07)
Rita, these women appear to be muslim so i doubt they are really part of the genocide. Its the Christians that are being persecuted, killed or raped there and i would say these women were no more persecuted than the average women in islam. If you really want to help Rita, help the true victims of the genocide in Darfur, the christians, and not muslims that just want a better life.
6. Take me under Your wing
Petra Blumenfeld ,   usa   (01.12.07)
Most of the world hates Jew. They never see these stories. The fine Jewish Lady who runs this free service for them is living the example of what we already know. The radical Islamics murder these women, men and kids. The Jewish Lady restores life to them without any state aid. Men destroy, women nourish. Like Esther, women have '"their place."
7. Send this article to all on your mailing list
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (01.12.07)
Send it also to the media in your area. While the world does nothing about Darfur, Israel is doing something! God bless those that are helping these people. And what a great photo of the soldier and the woman and her children!

leon ,   Grand Rapids USA   (01.12.07)
Your ignorance is apalling. You've confused Darfur with Southern Sudan, whose population is indeed Christian, and whose status is now "semi-independent" due to a successful rebelion. Darfur, on the other hand is thorougly Moslem, and whose population is being exterminated because it is non-Arab.
11. to #5: freejay, you don't know them...
Tobias ,   Germany   (01.12.07)
It is sad that there are some people complaining, when someone helps needy people. Freejay, you write: "appear to be..." and "i would say..." - in other words: you don't know. You don't know these women, you don't know who is christian and who is muslim - according to the article both groups are represented, and you don't know how they were persecuted, what they are fleeing from. But Rita and her friends know these women, know who is christian or muslim, and surely know their situation and their persecution better than anybody else in Israel. So please, dear Freejay, don't try to tell Rita what she has to do, or not to do. Anyway, it is very good that they help needy women regardless if they're muslim, christian, jewish, druze or whatsoever. Rita and the other workers at this shelter, thank you! And continue the good work. God bless you!

Freejay ,   Israel   (01.12.07)
Yes, i did mix up Darfur with Somalia, and i apologise for my error, but the whole point of my argument is why help muslims, while christians are being killed in the surrounding countries?. Israel doesnt need more muslims coming here and you cant deny that. And Leon, your ignorance is just as appalling, because if you had read the article , you would of seen that there were some christian refugees in that group (which i have no problem with) from Darfur. How many christians are being persecuted in Muslim countries compared to muslims in a muslim country? Alot more. Let these muslims go to Germany (maybe tobias has a few spare rooms) or Europe, but not Israel !!!!

15. Sudanese guests
Rachel ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.12.07)
Why is it that the overly rich churches in the country don't help the refugees? Why not let them stay and work, since it seems the government just increased the number of foreign workers we can have here. It would be a crime to return them to Sudan.
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (01.12.07)
Bible, Leviticus 24:17 "If a man takes the life of any human being, he shall surely be put to death" Black Africans are the indigenous people of Sudan and are the majority population. The black Southern Sudanese Christians explain what "peace" means: If you agree to become a Muslim, you will have peace. If you reject Islam, you are at war. From 1955-1973, 1.5 million Christians were slaughtered by the Arab Muslim government in Khartoum. From 1983-2005, two million more Christians died from Khartoum's jihad. Murdering infidels is not considered a crime. Non-Muslim infidels are regarded as not entitled to human rights. Hundreds of thousands of Christians have been raped. Hundreds of thousands of Christian children and women taken for slaves. In the refugee camps, the Islamo-Fascist religious supremacist Khartoum government requires refugees to become Muslims in order to receive food and water. The genocide has resulted in the largest population of refugees on earth since the Second World War. The jihad in Sudan against Darfur's black African Muslims by Khartoum's racist Arab Muslim regime began in 2003. 400,000 black Muslims are dead. STOP Genocide - STOP Slavery - FREE the Slaves Bible, Exodus 21:16 "He who kidnaps a man, whether he sells him or he is found in his possession, shall surely be put to death"

19. to #12 Freejay
Tobias   (01.13.07)
Obviously, you still continue to confuse several african war zones ... please get a map and learn the difference between Darfur, Southern Sudan and Somalia, before you continue to write about things you don't know. Somalia is not a part, and even not a neighbor of Sudan... Yes, christians are persecuted, tortured and murdered in muslim countries, but this must not be a reason not to help innocent muslim mothers and children. This refugees are not the persecuters, they are victims of persecution by muslim extremists themselves. Do you also hate me, because I'm German? Because of what other members of my people did many years before I was born?
20. to #19 Tobias
Tobias, i think you are the one thats confused.........Darfur is in Sudan which borders Ethiopia, which is next to Somalia. They are all part of that region. so what is your point? You dont have to share borders to be in the same region. My whole point is that Israel doesnt need muslim refugees as we have enough of them here already. I think you need to do some homework and look at the populations of israel and its demographics. No, i dont hate you, i just feel sorry for your ignorance to the islamic hate towards Israel. Soon Germany will be overun by muslims and lets see if you have the same attitude, unless your muslim yourself which is highly likely. Havent you asked yourself why any other moderate muslim countries dont help these refugees? why Israel? Because there are no moderate Muslim countries !!!!!!
21. to #19 Tobias
Freejay ,   Israel   (01.13.07)
Tobias,I am not confused but you obviously are. I realise that Darfur is in Sudan which borders Ethiopia and that Somalia is on the other side of Ethiopia, but they are all still part of that region. In my first post i got mixed up with the names....BIG DEAL AND GET OVER IT...... My whole point is that Israel does not need any more muslims coming into this country. If you had the brains to look at israels popullations and demographics you would realise we have too many muslim refugees here already in this small country. With all the muslim countries around, why choose Israel? Maybe because there are no moderate islamic countries for them to go to but that isnt our problem. We recieve enough refugees as it is. I dont hate you Tobias, just feel sorry for you ignorance, as you know nothing about Israel, and one day soon, you will be the one complaining when muslims take over Germany (its started already)......unless your muslim yourself !!!

Tobias ,   Germany   (01.14.07)
Freejay, I agree with your last description of east Africas geography. I just tried to correct you before because it seemed to me that you thought that Somalia was a part of Sudan. But now I see that you know that it isn't. Good. But I have to say that all your assumptions about me are wrong. I'm not a muslim (I'm a christian), I'm not "ignorant to the islamic hate towards Israel" (I didn't write anything like this), and I know the statistics about population, demographics and birthrates of Israel very well. But what I was saying is that all this is no reason to let these innocent girls and their children suffer. You write that you are Israeli and that you don't hate me althougt I belong to the same people as the ones who murdered 6 mio. of your people more than sixty years ago. So why are you so angry about somebody helping these refugees, just because they belong to the same group (here: religion) as other persons who hate you? These families have something in common with you Israelis, as the people who hate them and want to kill them are also muslim arab extremists. These refugees and you - you have the same enemies. And see it this way: As you wrote, Israel is the only country in the region who gave them refuge. The only place where they are accepted, respected and loved, is this shelter which the article is about. The only people who gave them a feeling of love, and being accepted, despite different origin, skin colour or religion, are Rita and friends - Jewish Israelis. So, after having experienced hate and persecution by israel-hating muslim extremists, and love by Israelis (many of them Jews), they won't hate Israel - actually, they will thank and love Israel. These refugees really aren't your problem. They aren't you enemies, but in the opposite - they are becoming your friends.
25. YNET, Thank you for good news...
Tobias   (01.14.07)
Thank you very much for publishing this good, positive news article. It is a good contrast to the ususal, depressing news. I was happy to read also something positive, something different than the usual news about terror attacks, accidents, worsening economic, military or political situation, scandals, etc.
