2. MKs-call for a no confidence vote in olmert
debra ,   usa   (01.17.07)
if three-fouths of the knesset members vote against olmert, he is removed as prime minister. then the knesset can name his successor. THIS IS ISRAEL'S CHANCE TO GET FREE OF OLMERT! DO IT NOW!
3. Circumstance is such that the factors
freedom ,   canada   (01.17.07)
necessary for the dissolution of the Knesset and the calling of new elections now exist. Let us see what happens.

5. National sprit of STAYING TOGETHER
Atilla Karagözoğlu ,   Istanbul   (01.17.07)
every nations can have bad days. some of them create its own sprit (soul) and get over it. some cant. it must be about what we want ? it must be about STAYING TOGETHER !!! while every corner has opposite idea how can a nation can have the point ? We have pretty strong hard religious people. We have pretty strong nationalists We have pretty strong night life (and its daily life) and we have some people who have GREAT STRONG WISHES FOR PEACE. A Leader with great vision can make it (the sprit) happen (come to true). DIFFICULT DAYS ALWAYS CREATE LEADERS. wait and see.

When someone is down everyone likes to hit !!! there are times in nations histories, the whole picture should seen, THERE IS NO NEED TO REMIND EVERY WISHES, EVERY DETAILS AS JOHN F. KENNEDY SAID ONCE ; FORGET ABOUT WHAT GOVERMENT CAN DO FOR US....TIME TO DO SOMETHING FOR OUR NATION....(something like that, I hope I am not wrong)
7. #6 Attila - THEY NEED KICKING!
Scott ,   Australia   (01.17.07)
There is not the slightest hint of statemanship about either Olmert or Peretz. They are both buffoons who are holding preciously to power for their OWN benefit. So its got nothing to do with "what you can do for your country" ! These guys are all about THEMSELVES. Israel must purge itself of these 'diseased' politicians.

There is nothing to be worried about this resignation, We believe our LORD G-d Of Yisrael ordains every events and insidents. We find G-d in every simple detail ( for those who believe in G-d), as such we will not forget the three israeli abducted soldiers too , the IDF Halutz resigned like a gentleman and there will never be another like Halutz in the IDF and this becomes part of the history, culture and time line of the Jewsih People. We have every reason to give thanks in all circumstances and situations.Nothing should be read as a problem but all are mere situation which we can manage and overcome. The earlier Jews have survived it all ,so will we in this situation,We will bring our children home and we will. This is the speciality about the Jewish People, we disagree on many things but we stay together, as such we also want our three soldiers in captive. We N dont miss any details, no details is small or insignificant for us ,nothing strange nothing new, we ask our family to rescue our boys.We know what we want, and our family know us :)

11. End the MADNESSS...NOW !!!
malcolm   (01.17.07)
We learned just this past weekend that Livni was negotiating away the Golan DURING the war in Lebanon. These TRAITORS must step down and make way for a real government that isn't about power, money, fame & deadly experiments.
12. hopelessness
Michael ,   Haifa   (01.17.07)
looking at the mug shots of the present government and the rogues' gallery of the politicians who want to replace them, we might be better off with having the British Mandate once again
13. #7 ... I'd say OWN & NWO benefits !
avi   (01.17.07)
14. #10 ... yes, & Peres/NWO will push the button,

a perfect stroke, fire Rumsfeld, Halutz and jump deeper & noone to raise an eyebrow, only G.d can save us of ourselves !!
15. What will an election prove? Another stalemate?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (01.17.07)
MK Gilad Erdan wants a committee to appoint the next Chief of Staff. Do we want ANOTHER Committee and a sub-Committee and the staff to go with it? The only acceptable "committee" would be one made up of previous Chiefs of Staff without any politicians being allowed anywhere near it! The poceeding sMUST be televised LIVE! The solution to all the country’s problems is to declare Marshall Law, reform the Electoral System and then hold a general election based on a constituency system where the elected MKs will be answerable to their constituents. This just might clean up the mess that ALL governments since 1948 have gotten us into. The defense of the country can be defined into two parts. The Arab threat against us and the threat to the survival of the State of Israel by corruption, crime and the unbelievable and pathetic Judicial and Law Enforcement systems that are nothing but an eleventh plague! The Likud might crow about the war failure but they should be reminded that the lack of Intelligence about Southern Lebanon was ON THEIR WATCH after Barak pulled out of Lebanon in 2000. The blame for this must be placed on the Defense and Foreign Affairs Committee under the chairmanship of Dr. Yuval Steinitz and the then Minister of Defense, Shaul Mofaz. That is where the incompetence that cost so many Israeli live in July and August 2006 began.
16. to #15 luck
Amir ,   Haifa   (01.17.07)
Don't you read newspapers? What luck of intelligence you are talking about? Everyone in IDF knew about Hizbullah but they were not alowed to talk in order not to "scare the public"? The generals who wanted to talk would had lost their job? Even now Halutz/Peretz/Livni were saying to everyone that everything is OK. If a general will say that the war will be this spring he will lose everything and Peretz will remove him, Livni will say that he is blocking peace with Syria. Everone wants to keep his job and immitate the current Grand Leader Olmeert.

What you said about reforming the electoral system and a goverment that is run based on a constitution with the elected goverment officials answerable to their constituents is an idea that needs serious examination. BTW, I would vote for Bibi.
18. NEW leaders
BB ,   Karmiel, Israel   (01.17.07)
I agree that this Govt. needs to go, just please don't give people who have already had their chance the leadership again! Let's get someone fresh in charge. Someone who's penchant for "restraint" wears out after the first rocket breaks a ceasefire. Isn't there anyone with the balls to ask Ms Rice what the US would do if random "militant" Mexicans shot rockets into El Paso everyday? Let me assure everyone they would not be rewarded with autonomy. We need someone who is strong and not plaged with scandel. Unfortunately, Neytanyahu and Lieberman are POOR candidates. We need someone to step up from the private sector or military. Politics stink in Israel.
