Furlough programs are in the majority of state prison systems in the US. One quote I found said 45 states have them. So, I'm not sure that Israel is so far off base. Also, this guy served 10 years before he got his fuloughs and if you allow for 6 years after that and 124 48 hour furloughs in that time, you get that he served 1942 days of the last 2190 days (not including leap years). And he returned to prison 124 times already. He is aware of his responsibility to serve his time. No one excuses a murderer or a guy who is driving without a license or doesn't buckle his children in. So critize him for that, not the Israeli prison system . And then pity him because, in fact, he lost his wife and 10 year old boy.

Memo to the prison service: Prison time is a sentence for committing a CRIME. It's NOT supposed to be FUN. No vacations for criminals, idiots.

This man is also responsible for the death of his wife and child. He should be charged with vehicular homicide. He should be locked up for another forty years. While I totally agree with your condemnation of # 1, I am bound to say that in this instance the scum can be non other than the released convict and as I have already stated he who granted him release should be charged with manslaughter. The killed woman was not so innocent . She sat in a car driven by a man WITHOUT license . She certainly knew it . Their children had no seat belts , this is certainly also her responsability . So do'nt cry .

Do you have any idea how small the male population of Israel (or anywhere) would be if every woman who was raped went off and murdered 7 innocent men? The article is full of errors. Sarah Popper was a beautiful person, she and her son Shimshon are mourned by many. She is not from Canada. Her children were wearing seatbelts, their injuries were related to their seatbelts, Sarah was always very careful about her children wearing seatbelts. Without seatbelts, the children would have been thrown from the car. Their car was more damaged, therefore the car that hit them was the one that caused the accident, based on engineering/ previous accident reports about head on collisions. This accident was a possible attempt on Ami's life by the Israeli mafia, all those who buy into the lies of the press are not seeing the true picture, poor Sarah and Shimshon, have pity on the orphans and on the widower, Ami should be freed based on this attempt on his life.
