1. Why?
Palestinian ,   Israel   (01.23.07)
What is the opposition trying to accomplis here? The ultimate losers here will be the lebanese people. After the summer war, they should be trying to revive their economy not destroy it.
2. US and Israel Are Now Needed
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. USA   (01.23.07)
The US and Israel had Hezbollah on the ropes, until Condi decided enough was enough and allowed the UNSC to demand a cease fire, and thwart Israel's death grip on it's enemy in the north. Hezbollah's defeat would have voided what we are witnessing now in Lebanon. With Hezbollah defeated, Israel could have trounced Hamas and taken Iran's surrogates out of the conflict. Iraq's situation might have been quieted, also, voiding the "bubble" controversy. Now everything is up for grabs. If Hezbollah gains power, Israel must help the Christians in Lebanon and put an end to this extremist organization. Sending a few 10,000 troops would help, with a US cover.
3. Arrest and deport Nasrallah
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (01.23.07)
Or assassinate the trouble maker. This is no different than what the Khomeni wanta bees did in 1979. Get rid of the idiot before this gets totally out of control, and you end up married to a rug, rather than a woman.
4. no let them suffer, this is what happens w/o us!
Yalon ,   Ha-aretz   (01.23.07)
All I can say is TOO BAD!!! UN, Lebanon and rest of the world that was against Israel and for Hizboulah/Ceasfire. You reap what you sow and next time you will get behind Israel or pay the price later on. Now you suffer and we'll sit and watch!
5. Siniora is getting paid for his support for Hizbollah
AK   (01.23.07)
He should have aligned himself with Israel, then Hezbollah would have been gone and Lebanon would have been at peace. But instead he went around the world slandering Israel with invented atrocities, causing the 'world' to tie Israel’s hands, and giving Hezbollah a victory. Serves him about right.
6. They WONT give Lebanon to you, Nasrallah !
Atilla Karagözoğlu   (01.23.07)
what I see is Lebanon will be divided into a few parts in near future as old Yugoslavia. will it be good for Lebanon ? No. I am against to dividing any country. Lebanese people (the muslims, the christians, the others...) must stay as one. THERE IS A BIG PLAY on them. can Lebanese people stop the play ? They should. But, it WONT be that easy. Nasrallah is the KEY POINT. Atilla Karagözoğlu
7. non-lebanese, do not interfere. u donno what's going on here
lebanese ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (01.23.07)
8. Deport my *** and suffer my ***, not your business
Lebanon for all leba ,   Lebanon   (01.23.07)
Stop watching CNN dudes and open ur eyes..The opposition is not only Hezbollah...The chrisitinas ur talking about are one of the strongest players in this oppisition together with Hezbollah,,,Allthough Hezbollah are the strongest party in Lebanon and probably the arab wolrd, without us christains, the oppsosition would onlt represent Shias...now, it represents Shias, Chritains and some Sunnis and Druze. My suggestion to you outsiders, keep posting your comments about ur defeat by Hezbollah and when you reply to me, don't tell me you destroyed my country and this crap, don't worry all the bridges and ports are back, the tows are being rebuilt and Lebanon will be back....As a Christian in Lebanon, Israel never meant anything to me but now I after experiencing ur agressiveness and igonrance, I underatod the pain of the Palatinains and Shias in Lebanon. Go back to where you came from.
9. Bad news for you guys
Lebanon our land ,   Lebanon   (01.23.07)
Soon a new government will be formed and guess what :D, Hezbollah which already has 5 ministers in the government will soon have the veto and maybe even more.....You had your chance to destroy them but what can I say, you gave them a gift, they grew stronger and more untied. Try again...loool, hard luck from now for next time if you try to give us a visit
10. #7 so, why don't you tell
Dave   (01.23.07)
us then?
11. Off With The Snake Head
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (01.23.07)
Israel's real "failure" in last summer's excursion into Lebanon was its failure to take out Mr. Nasrallah. The only way to stop a madman is to wipe him out. It does not help to kill his people, destroy his infrastructure nor cause him damage. The madman is impervious to suffering and nothing short of his own death will stop him. This was the lesson the US learned too late with Saddam Hussein when the first President Bush didn't finish the job with him in 1991 as it should have. This why Agag had to be killed to finish off Amalek.
12. 7# when you have your head up your backside
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (01.23.07)
all you see is daisies. They grow well in manure. But if you pull your head out into the sunlight.....you'll be seeing what the rest of the world is seeing. Maybe you don't know what's going on in your own country. I think the terrorist Nasrallah is taking over, while you smell your daisies. I'd get a rifle soon....you'll probably need it to protect yourself from nutty Muslim fanatics.
13. #2, No Dave, Israel isn't going to save Lebanon's Christians
AK   (01.23.07)
Israeli leadership and their army have been effectively gelded by the international community, us included. Besides, why should they risk the lives of their soldiers for Lebanese or anybody else; let the French and the rest of the UN contingent do that job. We thought that we can get the Israelis to do the job while we lambast them at every turn. Well, we turned out to be wrong. We hounded Israelis to the point that they are afraid to use their power even to defend their own citizens and now the bad guys are having the last word. Nobody really should be surprised at this outcome, since it was as predictable. Lebanese Christians are on their own, unless they can persuade those fabled UN peacekeepers to defend them. Let them call the French.
14. y dont u israeili mind ur own sh** 4got already the war?
Majd ,   Lebanon   (01.23.07)
lebanese people can deal with their own sh** alone, israeili are not needed to save anymore and especially not us the christians, mind your own business u guys have a lot of sh** to deal with after what happened to u in leb.. ask halutz hehehe however hizballa will be disarmed, peace will rain and leb will live in prosperity again
15. The fake Lebanese Christian at #8
Enough!   (01.23.07)
claiming that a majority of christians are in the opposition is because of that senile general Aoun support for HEZB. I would like to ask him if he is still sure about the general's popularity? and can he tell me why that the bodyguards that are surrounding the general are shia'a from hezb and not Christians. Please if you gonna answer me, make sure you'll have a smart answer. Just for the non-lebanese info, usually the supporters of that general come from modest, uncultivated social group, hence their support to him. The good thing, they are a minority.
16. Ignorance is your problem!
Benjamin Halberg ,   Haifa, Israel   (01.23.07)
You're all ignorant of the reality.. all u do is watch pro-jewish media propaganda, those of you who don't live in Lebanon have no idea whats really going on, nor does anyone know of the truth in Iraq.. One third of the lebanese government is not being represented, thus the government cannot proceed with one-sided decisions backed by USA and Israel's interests rather than Lebanon's interests of unity in mind as a whole. This will only stir more intense conflict and tension between the Middle East and Americans & Israeli's.. George Bush must quit his foreign policy targetting Muslims and avoid amplifying the reason for hatred.
17. To 15) Minority your ****
Lebanon ,   Lebanon   (01.23.07)
If your Lebanese, then u have to options :1) Just admit that General rerepsents 70% + of the Christinas 2) Agree to have new elections and then we can end this story but for sure, this will not happe because we will win. If you are not Lebanese, I don't care. Good luck for new commader becuse next time not only hezbollah will defeat him I didn't know that you are that intelligent to know the religions of the body guards. Can you tell me the name of his body guars since you are that intelligent loool. Btw, if you need some men to protect your commanders, Ican ask my friends in hezbollah to send peretz or mofaz :) Good luck in ur next visit to Lebanon
18. what makes you think this represents
(01.23.07)
the lebanese people? there were even claims that protesters get $10 or something in exchange for participating in some protest. and that money comes from donations to the lebanese people..
19. Lebanon always had internal-Peace when at war with Israel
KMR ,   Middle East   (01.23.07)
20. Soon Iran will be closer to Israel than you dreamed
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (01.23.07)
Soon, before Israel attacks Iranian Facilities, Nasralalh and his allies will take over government in Lebonan. They will immmediately order UN power to leave country. Iran will equip them with their missle technology and other heavy weapons in addition to what they have already! And it is not difficult to see the rest. Once again Make ready your traveling bags for a long journey.
21. TO ALL LEBANIS-I CAN SMELL YOUR FEAR. THE BEST WAR 4U IS A C
MEGI ,   LONDON   (01.23.07)
CIVIL WAR LIKE IRAQ. YOU ARE GOING TO PAY FOR ALL YOUR PROPAGANDA THAT YOU MADE ABOUT ISRAEL KILLING CIVILIANS. YOU BEGED AND BEGED FOR A CEASEFIRE AND YOU ARE SAYING YOU WON. OH YOU ALSO SAID YOU WON IN 67.
22. CRY CRY CRY TO UN TO SAVE YOU NEXT TIME. YOU ARE GETTING WHA
MEGI ,   LONDON   (01.23.07)
WHAT YO DESERVE.
23. Dearest #17
Enough!   (01.23.07)
You have just proven my point! What you are doing is repeating what your leaders are saying and ignoring the facts. I'm Lebanese and only Lebanese. My loyalty doesn't go to Syria and Iran but only to Lebanon. I don't worship a person but i believe in the sovereignity of my country. Just tell me who were the bodyguards with Aoun the day he went to down town beirut for his famous stupid speech. If by now u can't differentiate between a lebanese and a hezb (as they are iranian) then i rest my case.
24. #18
(01.23.07)
it's actually $20 and not 10. and you are right about their nationalities. a lot of them are irakien, iranian and syrian.
25. #17
Save Lebanon   (01.23.07)
I'm Lebanese Christian and i definitely do not support the general Aoun. I did long time ago when i thought he cared about Lebanon. Whenever i have politics discussion with my firends only the shia'a defend him so when you say 70%, i'm sure you are referring 70% of the shia'a as all my christians entourage are disgusted from him. He definitely do not represent us nor represent our civilised culture. If he was so sure of his popularity why is his people burning tires and forbidding people to go to their work? is that a democratic and civilised behavior? Unfortunately your general is only an orange clown manipulated by Hezb.
26. UN Resolution 1701 BETRAYED Israel, LEBANON & Free World
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (01.23.07)
During the second Lebanon war under intense U.S. pressure, Israel's weak leaders to the horror of the Free World's people, agreed to UN resolution 1701 that prevented the goal vital to Israel's security - eliminating the rocket threat from Lebanon. UN Resolution 1701 successfully prevented Israel from defeating Iran's terrorist army Hezbollah thus aiding and empowering Hezbollah who now threaten to take over Lebanon.
27. long live our goverment....

28. To all Lebanese
Ghengis Khan ,   Mongolian Empire   (01.23.07)
Why do the followers of Nazrallah want to toppel the government now? Why not just wait for the next round of elections and vote out the current regieme? There would be far less blood shed this way. And the world commuity would accept the new government as legitmate.
29. To #8
