Gee, what is the big fuss about those kind of clothes? Clothes is a cultural and religious issue. I wear jeans and shirts. I am modest because I don't go out and expose my breasts in a revealing shirt to anyone. I prefer to wear jeans because no man can get in there. Did you know in the old testament (to you Israelis - torah and writings) that men were supposed to wear skirt while women were supposed to pants??!! So I consider myself more religious and more modest than you men. These hareidi are twisted and dirty in their mind.

I wasn't worried about anyone coming for my or my neighbors' wardrobe(s). Obviously these people are concerned, as you say, with their own communities. Interesting you should mention, as an example of something terrible that is happening, people dying of cancer. Perhaps instead of or in addition to worrying about skirt-slit lengths and whether clothes are too form-fitting (what are they doing looking so closely anyway?), it might be a good idea to look at *externals* like pollution, bad eating habits, etc.

Dressed any way (Women), it depends on men (Haredi too) to control their desire. It is good education from women not to be (too much) alluring and from men not to be debauched, profligate versus shameless hussy. Are dresses long enough on the Web ? Of course, in holy or near holy places, in synagogues, mosques, temples and churches, men and women should wear "modest" clothes, the so-called "Appropriate clothing must be worn". Those who desire to do the will of God, know women are to dress modestly. But in my understanding , i have found that 'modesty' differs from country to country and even from individual to individual. I believe that a persons conscience knows when one has dressed modestly. And I believe one knows when one has dressed to entice.I also have come to believe that when in someone elses terroritory there should be respect shown to the traditional collective view on modesty. In new Guinea when the missionaries first came they viewed the women as immodest, but the women were very modest in their own eyes, and the evil was in the eye of the missionary who only saw bad.
