2. Solution to the problem
JRS ,   USA   (01.28.07)
Find a mutually acceptable formula to resolve the Israeli/Palestinian problem. The rest will fall into place. A tall order, I admit, but the only way to solve the problem. It will take wisdom and understanding, but it is possible.
3. to #2
BB ,   Karmeil, Israel   (01.28.07)
You miss the point entirely. There is only a "Palistinian Problem" due to global anti-semitism (actually Arabs are also semetic, so this is not an acurate term we should just be blunt and call it Jew-hatred). Had Israel been established by anyone but Jews, those who actively refused to be a functional part of society would have understandably been deported, punished, or outright destroyed. This continues to happen to Jews in the world (case in point - Yemen). Eventhough there are at least 22 Muslim countries, Israel alone is the ONLY place in the world where people can live Jewish freely everyday. Interestingly enough, the rest of the world keeps looking to carve away at our tiny Homeland. We alone should return territory our blood stains for empty promises of being allowed to live in peace. This is Ok? Please, G-d !!! Hear our prayers !!!
4. #2 Solution to the problem?
Raoul Schur ,   Netanya Israel   (01.28.07)
How naive. Also, how sad that you are not alone in thinking that resolving the problem between Israelis and Palestinians is going to solve the problem of a world-wide sickness called anti-Semitism.
5. the worst anti-Semitism is coming from the left
Sarit   (01.28.07)
and Jews continue to side with these morons.
6. HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN & AGAIN
DAVID P ,   SANTA CRUZ, USA   (01.28.07)
and it never ever ends, sometimes it measures high, sometimes low, but its always present in the collective soul, the Holocaust gave us only temporary reprieve from the centuries old hatred of the Jew, a theme that dominates our history
7. to #6
Aviv ,   USA   (01.28.07)
the holocaust was a "reprive" from anti semitism? I think you phrased that wrong, maybe you meant after the holocaust.
8. IF THEY ARE JUST "ANTIZIONIST",WHY DO THEY ATTACK EU JEWS?
Alan ,   SA   (01.28.07)
9. Anti-Semitism Rise
shanatova ,   australia   (01.28.07)
History repeats itself. The hatred of the Jewish people will never go away. The only time it will perish is when its author is finally destroyed forever. You only have to read the Bible to discover that the author of Anti-Semistism is the enemy of humanity - HaSatan. Many of you will laugh, scorn or even mock these words. But you will be the ones who, when judgement finally arrives will be crying out for mercy. Do not mock what you do not know. shanatova

GOT CAUGHT UP IN THE MOMENT OF TRACING THE HISTORICAL PATTERN OF ANT-SEMITISM
11. To #6
R. Alkalai ,   USA   (01.28.07)
I have thought about this for many, many years, and I have come to a conclusion. Rather than looking at the outer, or to other people- "humanity" for the answer, I began to look at the esoteric side, and this is what I came to understand. Perhaps it will help: Hashem evaluates all humans, and judges their souls- based on what they do as individuals, and also as societies- as to how they evolve to love, and revere the sacred gift of Life and All Creation. We come here, to this plane of existence that we call " life", to learn- so that our souls to evolve. The term "Tikkun Olem"- repairing the broken vessels- the universe- evolving beyond the physical desires- ego & sins of man. Much like a scale, there is spiritual development from Torah on one side, the sins of man on the other. Hashem judges man by how man treats others, and all other life forms. The Jews-The Chosen People, by virtue of accepting and following Torah, also accepted a great responsibility with it. As a group, we became one of the "weights on the scale" by which Hashem judges all nations, all peoples to see if they have learned and evolved beyond their egos and lower desires, and thus become worthy of returning back to Hashem. In return, G-D Blessed the Jews by giving them understanding through Torah, the land of Israel, and a binding covenent. But this Blessing also set up a Divine Test. If you doubt that, think of how such a tiny group of people, their beliefs, and such a tiny strip of land has effected the world throughout human history, to the point of destruction. The fact is, our very existence forces people to face the lower, darker sides of themselves- wether they wish to see it or not. Yet, we withstand such evil adversities because Hashem has Blessed us. This is why such a tiny group of people has, throughout all of history, survived and actually thrived in the face of such great odds, and repeated historic attempts to wipe us out. It is not by luck- it is by Hashems' Divine Will. By setting up "tests", throughout human history- such as the Assryians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, The Inquisition, Pograms,The Shoah, the Arabs and Iran-the current situation that may yet lead to another Shoah, Hashem evaluates how people have developed spiritually. Then He will judge. Remember: "G-D Blesses those who bless Israel, G-D curses those who curse Israel." Read Ezekiel 38 & 39 and Joel 4 and you begin to see the principal, once again, developing and coming into fruition.
12. Why do we always want to be loved?
David ,   Paris   (01.28.07)
Why do we always want to be loved? People hate America, the French, the "Pakis", the blacks, et al. What we need is to be STRONG and therefore respected. We do not recognise any longer Gaarder! Do not worry, Gaarder will soon die. But the people of Israel will live forever!
13. Anti-semitism
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (01.28.07)
I just wish that somebody, anybody, would explain to me what it is about the few Jews in the world that, by merely existing, make so many supposedly sane human beings foam at the mouth, when there is not another group of people who, percentagewise, has contributed so much to make this little planet a better for all of us, maniacs included. I simply and for the life of me don't get it. If I don't like that Moshe up the street, shouldn't it be because he kicked my dog, egged my car, or wears a John Kerry belt buckle and not simply because he's Jewish? Moshe, unlike some other people, doesn't even bang on my door at the crack of dawn on Saturdays or Sundays and tries to convert me. So what am I missing??
14. IF WE ARE THE LIGHT INTO THE NATIONS AND THE CHANNEL WHICH
AVRAHAM ,   JERUSALEM   (01.28.07)
DELIVERS THE LIGHT OF THE ONE TRUE GOD THE GOD OF ISRAEL AND THEY HATE US.IT MEANS THAT THEY HATE GOD HIMSELF. THEY HATE AND RESENT THE RULE OF GOD OF ISRAEL ON THE WORLD. THE GENTILES ONLY SEE THE LIGHT OF THE GOD OF ISRAEL TROUGHT THE JEWS. ANTI SEMATISM WILL NEVER GO UNTIL GOD RULE THE EARTH AND BRING DOWN THOSE HOSTILE NATIONS AND PEOPLE. WE ARE THE HOLY VESSEL. WE SUFFER COS THE VESSEL MUST BE PURIFIED AND MORE PURIFIED TILL OUR GOD COMES. ISRAEL MAKE TSHUVA NOW!!
15. "place" should be between better and for.
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (01.28.07)
16. To #12
M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (01.29.07)
If we could get Gaarder and Jimmy to start corresponding with each other, maybe we could get both of them out of everybody's hair.
17. It's simple Alan #8
JRS ,   USA   (01.29.07)
Since Israel is the Jewish homeland, and since Jews by and large support Israel, then people the world over tend to use the words "Zionist" and "Jew" interchangeably. While the distinction is important, especially to Jews who do not support Zionist policies, people tend to fall into the trap of blaming all Jews for the perceived mistakes of the Jewish state. Thus the root of antisemitism today.
18. To M. Hartley
NYC Girl   (01.29.07)
You might want to check out a book which addresses the reasons why anti-Semitism has been such an enduring and intractible prejudice. It's called "Why The Jews?" by Dennis Prager. The only problem may be that because it was written quite some time ago, I'm not certain to what extent it examines the issue of radical Islam and anti-Semitism, so you might want to see if there's been an updated version.
19. The Left
Tracy W   (01.29.07)
that's why the Israeli Left's behavior is so obscene. By attacking Israelis, by collaborating with the enemy, and by weakening Israel, they are worse than all those foreign anti-Jews.
20. ending anti-semitism
Jim ,   usa   (01.29.07)
End the brutal and barbaric occupation and learn to live in peace with your Arab neighbors and so called anti-semitism will become almost non existant. There is a school of thought that believes you want anti-semitism in order to circle the wagons and prevent assimilation into the host countries.
21. Jim 20# The Jews did assimilate into other groups
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (01.29.07)
and were still killed. Hitler did a wonderful job hunting Jews down. They aren't assimilating with the Muslims, because the Muslims plans are to finish Hitlers work. I tried to be a Lion at the zoo once. After the Female lion chewed off my leg......I hobbled out of the cage bleeding, and joined my family who protected me from the Lion. They built a bigger cage, and shot the Lion that ate my leg. Sound kind of familiar? History repeating itself?
22. Wonder why
Ali ,   Lebanon   (01.29.07)
Well everyone used to hate Jews in europe before the holocaust which was a well prodiced movie by the Zionisim groups....Now, you guys came to our region, so did u ever ask urself, the follwoing question: Why do everyone hate us...When the term eveyone is included, you should ask urself if the problem lies within u or the other... O I forgot, ur God's Chosen people..loool
23. #22 Ali, like you're loved?
Sarina   (01.29.07)
Lebanese are known worldwide as terrorists from America to Australia b/c of your terrorist Islamist groups. Stop pretending like you are loved. Even the Arab world doesn't love you.
24. #2 A solution to the problem?
Micha   (01.29.07)
isn't that kinda what all of the current conflict is about. Answer: There is no solution except removal of the arab people in gaza. I know that's not the answer anybody wants, but unfortunately, that's likely the only thing that can end this. A radical solution for a most radical period in our history as a plant.
25. #22 Unfortunately, you're part of the problem
Micha   (01.29.07)
Do you really believe the Holocaust was a movie produced by Jews in the 30s and 40s? Have you really been fed such garbage in your life? I truly hope you are trying to be funny with a not very funny joke. If not, I feel really sorry for you and your brethren that are so utterly clueless. I thought that type of stupidity was out with the hate groups in this country and elsewhere. Now, you show me that indeed, true naivete lives on in the arab world. Tragic. I hope you are able to find people who love life and you can learn with them. Otherwise, you have lived your life without purpose.
26. #20 Jim, do you think it is so simple?
Micha   (01.29.07)
You just wrapped it up like a precious gift with a tiny little bow. Wow, amazing. Did you know that Jew-hatred predated the formation of the state of Israel. Now, please go back and formulate your theory. Go back real far and look at history. See where Jews were relegated to as far as jobs were concerned. You, too, are really naive about this. You are ingesting the rhetoric fed to you. It truly a shame that you are the ones that the propagandists are looking for. Do you also believe in the Protocols of Zion? It's ok if you do. We can talk further then.
27. First off there is anti Semitism in the world.
AR ,   USA   (01.29.07)
I understand that this is a website aimed at a jewish audience and that is why their are so many articles about anti semitism on this website. Lets talk about those nazi in russia. I personally think these guys are fing nuts. They go around and beat up anyone who dosnt look like them (slavick) and its not just jews. They hate everyone equally so i dont think calling it anti semitism really dose put the correct light on these bigots. They hate everyone equally and the beat up and murder everyone who isnt slavik. Now the article went on to say that lebonan, egypt, syria etc are anti semetic. (maybe true) but i think it is mostly because of the state of israel that they are so anti jewish. I will be sure to point out that there are those who dont like jews and who havent liked jews even before israel. But look at it from their perspective. A foreign eliment comes and takes (arab land) and occupies their land wouldnt you hate it if someone did that to you. They hate the state of israel for the most part. Israel happens to be jewish so it is easy to blame anti semitism and ignore israel policy and actions especially with what accord in nazi germany and the history of the jewish people. I dont blame jews for trying to get the word out about this issue it is very serious and potentially destructive but i disagree with the notion that being anti israel makes you anti semitic. Israel is a nation and nations have responsibilities the are responsible for their actions and because your a jewish nation dosnt mean you can get away with murder and when people say your a murderer and i dont like you, you decide to call them anti semitic. Come on know. I know that people like to bash on iran for racism and what not but you must remember that iran has a lot of different ethnic minorities and for the most part they are treated fairly well including the jewish minority in iran. Jews in iran fought along with the muslims during the war with iraq jews are proud people if they were being persecuted or treated unfairly then i dont think they would fight along side their persecutors. I gues my point really is that i dont think isreal policy is necessarily jewish policy. Just like Iranian policy isnt muslim policy. Or Italian policy christian policy. So we cant cry anti anything other than policy.
28. to #20 & 22
R. Alkalai ,   USA   (01.29.07)
to #20: That "school of thought" is in great need of further education- but not to worry, it is on the way. to #22: "O I forgot, ur God's Chosen people..loool " : The time is coming when your memory will be refreshed. The Jews have always been a part of this region. We are from it. Many have lived there and never left. There is no denial possible in that fact- just look at all the archeological finds being dug up from the ground, the Temple Mount, the Dead Sea scrolls, Hebrew seals and tablets- many of which are found in the Torah, and so much more. Even the Hebrew calendar - nearly 6,000 years old. The ones who were dispersed simply came back home. They were meant to- as this too, was G-D's Promise, and Divine Will, and another prophesy fulfilled. Read Ezekiel 38 & 39, Joel 4, Obadiah, Daniel and the others. They wrote of this thousands of years ago. You can never stop it- You can't stop G-D. It does not matter if "everyone" hates us. That failing of human nature is upon them, and you. And you suffer for it- by being consumed by hate, and the inner the rage that such hatred rips at your souls- it is why you even come to a Jewish site to post your hatred and mockery. It tears at you, haunts you, and you are consumed by it, as all evil obsessions do. The Jews may often suffer the evil from your hands and hearts, but your souls suffer a far greater pain and sadness.
29.  #6--Black Plague--Jew's fault.
Jo ,   USA   (01.30.07)
In about 1348, during the Black Plague that scourged Europe, people ran out of something to blame, so they claimed that Jews were poisoning the wells. Many Jews were burned at the stake, or beaten to death, even though Jews also died of the Plague. Things really never ever change.
30. #27- its called "Racist" policy
SAM ,   USA   (02.13.07)
I do agree with your premis, but racism is racism no matter how you slice the baloney. Hating Jews is like hating anyone. No one ethnic group has a copywrite on being victimised by racism. If you will look at real world history, Jews have occupied that part of Palistine for thousands of years. So, they did NOT steal anything, along with significant numbers of deeds where Arabs sold barren land to Zionists. No one even dares challenge that Arabs actually stole land from Jews where the Jews occupied that land for a few millenia. Case in point , sir, Hebron. The Arab settlers murdered these sephardi Jews in the streets in the 1920's. The real Arab neibors did what they could to protect thier Jewish neighbors. But, today Hebron is 100% Arab. No one challenges the Arab as being racist. THIS IS THE PROBLEM>>>>ARAB RACISM. If Jews were considered as equals and were actually entitled to have a "homeland" in thier ancient lands, this "Zionist-Israeli" problem would not exist. But Arabs have to recognize Jews as equal human beings with rights. That is a no go. and its not just the Jews, sir. The world will have a problem with Muslim Arab states like the world had a problem with Nazi Germany. Its happening before our eyes. History repeats itself and seldom does it ever end with ....The Jews>
