Thanks. it nice to hear and to be more sure we are on right road. Love & Respect & Peace Sevgi & Saygı & Barış Atilla Karagözoğlu Your Brother
62. The dead are dead
Libneniyyeh ,   Lebanon   (01.31.07)
and holocausts have been committed everywhere. Start focusing on the future.
63. Do they have to do it on same day?
Fred ,   Toronto, Canada   (01.31.07)
Fine - let's say they are sensitive to the palestinian problem. Then mark this on some other day. Doing this in replacement of an internationally sanctioned Holocaust memorial reeks of anti-semitism. I have no idea what kind of a simpleton you'd have to be in order to compare the Jewish holocaust under the Nazis to what the Palestenians experienced in the last 50 years. Simple fact is that if Hitler had 50 years to deal with the "jewish problem" there won't be jews in the world today, anywhere! The Palestinians are still here, stronger and more vibrant than ever... Am I missing something????
64. 'Palestinian Genocide Day'
Natalie Wood ,   Bury, Lancs., UK   (01.31.07)
Ynetnews readers may also be equally appalled to learn that the heavily Moslem influenced Bolton City Council here in Lancashire,England, UK voted against marking Holocaust Day and will instead commemorate a 'Genocide Day' sometime in June.
65. He wanted Votes..i'm sure
Abdel ,   Nablus, Palestine   (01.31.07)
First. again Ynet fishing for the worst and most controversial bits and peices of news that will help inflame people and put everone on a collision course.... one day modern day news agencies should be held responsible for the damage they cause.......... as for the event it self, well it is absolutely rediciolus and idiotic that the mayor of the town would do what he did, if he/ or the people of the town are pro palestinian, that is fine and great, but he should not cancel the holocaust day in any way or for any reason, simply because the holocaust was a horrible atrocity that should be remembered so that it does not happen again not only to the jews, but to everyone....just look what kind of short-spanned memory the world has (Rwanda, Bosnia, and now Darfur) .....it keeps on happening and happening........ I don't see why people such as the idiot Iranian president keeps on denying the holocaust other than to piss-off the jews honesty , it does nothing to advance th palestinian cause, or any other cause for that matter, nor does it detract from the Palestine cause.... either it only puts people more and more on the collision course which seems sadly to be norm these days....... the Palestinians including me have every right to be sad and angry about the hell they've been through since 1948... true that the scale and violence levels are not even close or comparable to what the holocaust or other atrocities were like... but still that does not make it less of a tragedy, and to us, and in our eyes and from our perspective it is something that we will always remember, and will never forgot, we have the right to remember our grievances like everyone else does. if the Spanish town wants to share in that they are more than welcome, and we are thankful..... Jews should do more to educate the other people of the middle east about the horrors of the holocaust. not many people know that much about it and about what it means to you...... just an idea, what about a documentary in Arabic about it without trying to tie-it-up somehow to Israel? that will be really helpful...it will not do magic, but it will be a start ...... i hope my comments make sense ,,, salam,
66. It's a SCANDAL
Paolo Ortenzi ,   Rome, Italy   (01.31.07)
Maybe Madrid needs another 12 March to understand. Those people in Ciempozuelos are the heir of Isabel the Catholic, the one that deported or forced to conversion the Spanish Jews. Shame on all the citizens of Ciempozuelos.
67. Pales Genocide
Zeev ,   NJ   (01.31.07)
Would this be a celebration? LOL #46 I am on the floor that was so funny. But let me add UN Appreciation Day. I am shocked by this...but them I am not. Sad world we live in today.
68. to Fred and palestinian
israeli ,   israel   (01.31.07)
Fred, if Hitler had 50 years, the whole world would be speaking German today. Plus he would have dealt with all the "problems" in the world. palestinian, Israel declared independence, Arabs declared war and attacked Israel. Jews, Gypsies etc. did nothing to provoke the Germans. You simply cannot draw a comparison. If what you're saying were true, there would be no Arab left in Israel today, would there? Get a life, pal!
69. 60. YOUR GRANDPARENTS LEFT EVEN
UPSET AT **YNET   (01.31.07)
YES LEFT BECUASE ALL YOUR ARAB NATIONS SAID THEY WILL +MAKE WAR AGAINST ISRAEL, EVEN AFTER THE WORLD AGREED THAT THESE ARE THE BOUNDERIES OF THE ''NEW''ISRAEL '' EVEN AFTER YOUR GRANDPARENTS 'LEFT' ISRAEL TOLD THEM ''STAY WE CAN LOIVE WITH EACH OTHER IN PEACE''' NOTE TO YNET: IF YOU DONT WANT ME TO POST ANYMORE, I WILL NOT. BUT WHEN YOU DO NOT POST SOME THINGS I SAY THAT ARE NOT INSULTING TO ANY NATION BUT SUPPORTING ISRAEL.... and you dont post the truths the rebukes , the rebuttals, and you do post the hate from the arabs the proselytizing from the xtians, that is not fair and equal, that is biased and wasting my time. advise me... YOU DID NOT POST AN EARLIER ONE OF MINE TO THIS ARTICLE.THAT WAS A FOLLOW UP TO MY #35... ''WHO WILL DEFEND ISRAEL IF NOT ME''? that
70. Re: #60 and #62
Morris ,   USA, Israel in Feb.   (01.31.07)
#60: I hate to break the news to you, but in war, it comes down to "you or me." If you were expelled, it's because you were the enemy. I really don't understand the problem here. Be glad you were simply expelled and not killed outright. You can't blame Israel for the invading Arab armies (who, by the way, did their fair share of expelling Jews. In fact, their areas were completely devoid of Jews after the war, but Israel's areas were certainly not devoid of Arabs). #62: By that same logic, you should have no problem with Israel's existence. What happened in 1948 happened..it's time to look towards the future. And the same goes for the Palestinian "refugees." It's time for you and your governments to start resettling or abosrbing them and look to build a better future for them -- this "past glory and life" is now but a fairytale so give it up.
71. Pali's suffering comes from there own
jerome ,   basalt, co   (01.31.07)
leaders and the tyrannically Arabs elite that keeps the Palis as poor refugees, ignorant, and as hateful victims. If the Israeli's wanted to practice genocide the Palis would have been wipe out a long time ago! The Palis and Arabs would if they could practice genocide on the Jews if they where strong enough! The Iranians that want to wipe Israel off the face of the map apparently don't mind to wipe the Palis with them since they are unfortunatly the Israelis neighbor. Whoever decide to change the Holocaust Day to Pally genocide day is very stupid, ignorant and just plain wrong!
72. Spain's post trade union
charles ,   petach tikva   (01.31.07)
This trade union has posted a letter on his website , telling his members to boycott the stamp issued to commemorate the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Israel . No other comments needed
73. To # 60
charles ,   petach tikva   (01.31.07)
How can we believe what you tell , you even don't know anything about geography . Lydda does not exists , its LOD , and not in palestine , but in ISRAEL . If you want to live in your "dear palestine" go , nobody does retain you . But you stay to enjoy the quality of life , the social security and so on the Israeli State is giving you
74. TO SPAIN-ZAPATERO: FIX A DAY FOR --- ETA ---REMEMBERANCE DAY
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (01.31.07)
And blow up a few subway trains to mark their persecution bunch of bastards
75. #62, NO, you cannot forget the past!
DR ,   Florida, USA   (01.31.07)
This is how people repeat history and make mistakes all over again. People are already starting to forget and not learn about what happened to European Jews. This is a horrible thing and if you can't see why, then there is no reasoning wiht you. Jews will never forget what happened so it is your resposibility to educate your children as well, or else they will grow up to be ignorant like 95% of the Muslim world is today.
76. #41: Vincent you are an IGNORANT
Paolo Ortenzi ,   Rome, Italy   (01.31.07)
Islam was seen from Hitler and Mussolini in a FAVOURABLE WAY. Hadjii-Al-Husayni, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, was RECRUITING MUSLIMS for SS division, Fawzi-Al-Kutub was trained in Bad Tolz by the SS to prepare explosive devices. You are an idiot: and you simply don't know when and WHY the term "antisemitism" was born: addressing the hate of Europeans against Jews. It was NEVER intended for Arabs, even being semite them too. Read history books before using your hands full of fingers!
77. Genocide Day
TheOmegaMan ,   Richmond-USA   (01.31.07)
Are the Ciempozuelosians for or against a Palestinian Genocide? Since there is not a Palestinian Genocide for them to celebrate now, just wanted to know their preference for the future.
78. Genocide means extermination....
DR ,   Florida, USA   (01.31.07)
I belive that the Palestinian population continues to grow every year, so all this talk about genocide is another attempt by Pali supporters to draw upon people's emotions...its called Ethos and it works. People who get emotional, stop using thier brains. It is very apparent that many who visit this site are guilty of this act. Israel can wipe the Palis out in one day, BUT, not one person in Israel wants this. Ask the Palestinians the same question and you will get a lot of votes for taking Israel out. This is the major difference between the two people.
79. How about Spanish Inquisition Day or Spanish Expulsion Day?
Uzi ,   Haifa   (01.31.07)
80. # 78 is Correct
Joe   (01.31.07)
The "Palestinian genocide" is the only one where the population keeps increasing. Unlike the Armenian and Sudanese genocides carried about by Muslims.
81. #64 Natalie-Muslim' Goal of SHARIA LAW in non-Muslim nations
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (01.31.07)
Submissive non-Muslim dhimmis in England have given Muslims their own exclusively "Muslim only" swim times at one (or more) swimming pools in England. Discriminated against non-Muslims who want to swim during those hours are NOT ALLOWED. Indigenous English people must sometimes think they are living in a Muslim country. Will dhimmi non-Muslim leaders next say non-Muslims must pay the jizya - Koranic blood ransom poll tax to Muslims - a large number of Muslims in Britain want Islamic sharia law that denies human rights to non-Muslims. Muslims could move to countries that have sharia law, but these Muslims prefer to move to our countries and work towards the goal of implementing ISLAMIC sharia law in non-Muslim countries - global Islam.
82. Andrew from Miami is right
Jenny ,   USA   (01.31.07)
Why do we insists on Holocaust memorials and Holocaust Remembrance days in Europe? They don't care about how they slaughtered millions of Jews. They would rather let the memorials be used as urinals and and use the rememebrance days for political agendas. DON"T ALLOW THEM TO USE OUR GRANDPARENTS' SUFFERING FOR THEIR AMUSEMENT. They are sick and demented. YNET, please print this.
83. Stand Up to TODAY'S HITER - Ahmadinejad's Planned GENOCIDE
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (01.31.07)
You CAN do something! 2 minute movie http://www.aish.com/Iran/JO/
84. #82, Jenny...wrong!
DR ,   Florida, USA   (01.31.07)
Memorials are there for one purpose...to remember! If there was nothing to remind people of what happened, they would soon forget about the whole thing. There are already signs that youth in Europe are not educated about the Holocaust and that people are starting to forget. The fact that they abuse these memorials only shows that we need to continue to fight for the remembrance of our elders who suffered all those years. By not showing off our memory, we let these scumbags win.
85. DR - What Have Holocaust Memorials Done?
Joe ,   USA   (01.31.07)
They have't stopped genocides since then, not in Rwanda or the Sudan. And if you follow the news and I'm sure you do, these memorials haven't done anything to curb anti-Semitism in Europe, in fact they just seem to annoy Europeans. Especially since the Europeans gave up their past time of mass murder and have taken up self-righteous preening and finger pointing.
86. Caught ya Noa!! LOL!!
Lynne   (02.01.07)
you really are a procrastinator!! hehe.. (just kidding)..how are you doing in your finals? reply to other post-- it is true that those who have weapons are from either Fatah or Hamas but my point was that since the leaders of both claim that they want a ceasefire then I think it's up to them to prove this by arresting ANYONE caught with a gun on the streets.. this might be a diffficult but I couldn't see another solution.. regarding your #23-- those whom you say fled without even seeing an Israeli soldiers have fled from FEAR and not willingly!! Genocide according to Genocide convention- UN.. Adopted by Resolution 260 (III) A of the United Nations General Assembly on 9 December 1948. Article 1 The Contracting Parties confirm that genocide, whether committed in time of peace or in time of war, is a crime under international law which they undertake to prevent and to punish. Article 2 In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; (e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group. Article 3 The following acts shall be punishable: (a) Genocide; (b) Conspiracy to commit genocide; (c) Direct and public incitement to commit genocide; (d) Attempt to commit genocide; (e) Complicity in genocide. apply on the following.. Deir Yassin 1948 Tantura Massacre 1948 Safsaf Massacre 1948 Houla Massacre 1948 Qibiya Massacre 1948 Gaza Massacre 1956 Kafr Qassem Massacre 1956 Khan Yunis Massacre 1956 the list goes on... Sabra and Shatilla, Jenin, Qana.... are all those not attempts for genocide???
87. Linda 81
Libneniyyeh ,   Lebanon   (02.01.07)
Dear Linda: "Submissive non-Muslim dhimmis in England have given Muslims their own exclusively "Muslim only" swim times at one (or more) swimming pools in England. Discriminated against non-Muslims who want to swim during those hours are NOT ALLOWED. Indigenous English people must sometimes think they are living in a Muslim country." Do you honestly believe that stuff you're spouting? Ive been wondering about it for a while but with this talkback of yours u just beat ur own record. For one thing, veiled Muslim women cannot wear bathing suits in front of men. It is nothing but a conduct of decency that Islam urges them to follow. So during the one or two hours a week that Muslim women get to swim, men are not permitted onto the premises of the pool. Non-Muslim women are welcome to share if they so please. I see this also in many parts of the States and Canada. Linda, there are many clubs and swimming areas that are not Muslim but are exclusively for women here in the west. A great many women simply want to swim or play sports comfortably and may not do so around men. And what you call "Koranic blood ransom" is simply an added tax required only by strictly Muslim governments such as Saudi Arabia because they alot specific compounds for nonMuslims so they can live their lives as they want (ex ARAMCO in KSA). They are not at all second rate citizens but in fact receive much better salaries and attention than locals. "Muslims prefer moving to our countries bla blah blah".. Listen love, when one Muslim comes up to you and tells you: Linda if u dont become a Muslim Ill kill you" please let me know.
88. Response to 86
(02.01.07)
Was the Hebron Massacre in 1929 also genocide? How about the war of 1948 that the Arabs started or the 67 war that Nasir said would "finish Hitler's work"? Those sound more genocidal to me.
89. to tayfun turkey

90. lynne # 86
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.01.07)
Those killings you are citing were not programmed to kill the whole group . Deir Yassin was condemned by most of the Israeli People . The others you write about were retaliations on terrorists infiltrations into Israel . From1951 to 1955 . 403 Isrealis were murdered by fedaieen coming from gaza an Egypt . 503 by fedaieen coming from the by Jordan occupied Judea and Samaria . What about the 133 killed in Jerusalem on 26/08/29 ? or the 55 muredered in the Ben Yehuda Street by a bomb left by a arab ? And this is only a small part of those murders committed by your friends
