This is simply amazing! Thanks a million for the article (AND the pic!), Ynet . I can just imagine our ancestors walking along that road, before Legio X Fretensis brought death and destruction to their lives!

again the street is not from Herod the Great (37 BCE to 4 BCE), tho we call it the "Herodian" period. It is from a later time, circa 50-60 C.E. It was briefly in use before the destructioon of 69-70 C.E.
7. hiding truth
Rami ,   Jenin   (02.06.07)
This street is Palestinian. WAQF has proved there was never a Jewish presence under our holy sites of Al Aqsa and Dome of the Rock. This street is Palestinian. Jews are trying to steal the street to claim they were here when they never were.

9. #7: You Arabs are adept at hiding the truth
Stephen ,   Arizona, USA   (02.06.07)
I sometimes wonder just what kind of ignorance and perversion can allow a people to strap bombs on their children and send them into public areas to shed blood. The same kind of people who can stare at history's face, and deny its presence. In Rome, there is a monument, the Arch of Titus, that was constructed to celebrate the Roman conquest and destruction of Jerusalem, and the Temple, thus allowing the Arab usurpers to build the present abominations on that site. Look at these pictures: http://sights.seindal.dk/sight/179_Arch_of_Titus.html Are you going to tell me that the Romans destroyed a "Palestinian" (no such thing!) rebellion, and made off with such Arab artifacts as a Menorah? The world really relies on you people coming to your senses, and it is nearly disgusting to rely on you for anything.
10. #8 is history clueless
Jameel @ The Muqata ,   Shomron Hills   (02.06.07)
Mr. Hasan has either forgotten (or just doesn't know) that the Jews lived in biblical Israel BEFORE they went to Egypt. Like when Abraham purchased the Machpela cave in Hevron? When he lived in Beersheva? Akedat Yitzchak on Har HaMoriya? (The temple mount) Sheesh. --jameel muqata.blogspot.com

14. #7: waqf didn't prove anything, but destroyed evidences
Tobias ,   Germany   (02.11.07)
The waqf digged excavated big holes in the temple mount (they are the only ones who dig inside the temple mount), destroying artifacts from the 1st and 2nd temple period. After they destroy everything and disposed the rubble to the Kidron-valley, they claim theat there'd never been something. Additionally, these excavations put the southern edge of the mount (with Al Aqsa mosque) in danger. But if something happens, the Waqf of course will blame Israel for it.
