to have his own take on it. His father is an atheist. Which mitzvah (religious commandment) would you abolish? Sounds like a reformed Rabbi asked him this question. You do not have to force orthodox to memorize the 10 commandments, we know it already. You cannot transform G-d. He is what he was and will always be. But now it all makes sense why you seem so confused, you were just brought up that way.
