Instead of Israel teaching its tradition and G-d given constitution it has chosen to go the way of the nations of the world. It has sacrificed its uniqueness and therefore will pay a worse price. You obviously didn't see the in dept report on their disgusting manner of taking old meat, that had passed its sell-by date, covering it heavily in strong smellingspices to camouflage the putrid smell ( stink, really) and selling it on skewers etc. Try living above THAT smell. Living above (not near, but above) any supermarket lowers the value of the property,( milk deliveries fruit and vegetable lorries early in the morning etc) specially one with these disgusting salmonella causing habits. Israeli Jews eat mostly kosher products , but thats not enough to say they are all eating Kosher . And to be a GOOD Jew you have not to follow the Torah laws , you can have good principles of living . And first of all LIVE here .

Since when is it anyone's business what people eat? If people want to eat non kosher foods let them, the meat that is sold in the kosher supermarket chains here is tasteless, loaded down with water(in the case of Hamburgers), and who buys meats according by number? If I want to buy a sirloin steak, or a ribeye steak I will go to Tiv Tav because their meat is always good, and no water in the hamburger, and when I tell them a sirlion they know what I mean, unlike the meat dept in other supermarkets. We have enough problems in this country without resorting to bothering people/businesses that sell/buy non kosher products. Deal with what is important to this country. increasing the health basket, improve education, cut down on all pollution,get rid of molesters in the government,get rid of corruption those problems are what really matters!

The % of non kosher eaters in Israel was greater in the beginning years than today . It was not openly talked about , you had probably less non kosher shops , but this does not mean that people were eating kosher . It's not enough , as i said , to buy kosher products , to make you eat kosher . And , not only the new immigrants of former USSR eat non kosher products . I hope that one day you will become more tolerant toward those immigrants , because now you only hate them , and that's not a Jewish behaviour to hate people who have done nothing to harm you .

Israel is slowly loosing its jewish identity in its attempt to be more western. There are parties like Shinui that campaign on the fact they are secular. I think that if Israel does achive a real peace with the arabs the jewish identity of country will erode even further as suddenly there is no enemy that wants to replace your identity as being a jewish state with their own. Then people will be less concerned about an identity to be proud of but more interested in an easy going western lifestyle and all the anti religion attitudes that come with that. Unfortunatly unlike muslims jews are not as proud of their identity and prefer to simply follow the crowd.
