"We here prefer seculars , even if they are making errors , above religious fanatic coecision lawmakers". Then if you don't mind having seculars run your life and you will take the good that comes and the bad with it, like holocausts and pogroms then stop blaming everything on G-d and learn to eat what YOU reap. YOU WANT IT THEN TAKE THE WHOLE PACKAGE AND DON'T BLAME G-D FOR THE LIFE YOU CHOSE. 'with antisemitism , the contrary with religious i knew . It was their behaviour that provoked this , seculars know how to behave , they don't need a torah for this . " if so why did hitler kill secular jews of Germany was it because the religious Jews in Poland provoked him. My history books write that secular Jews of Germany wanted to create Berlin as the Jewish capital.

charles ,   petach tikva   (02.12.07)
who are those Galut people who want to tell us how to behave . Look at the number of mixed couples you have , look at the many "jews" who are self declared Jews you have . Here we have people who are not needed , those are a small part of the Russian Olim . And there are many of them Jewish by halacha , but not in their head . Yes i know , you have not to tell it me , Berlin was a center of secular Jews , who are those who contributed so much to mankind , not the religious . I have seen the desecration of the Petach Tikva synaguoge , the first time in years i went to such a place , not to pray of course . And even i'm very secular as you know , it hurts . But i made Alyah , i did not stay in galut as those whom i writing too. I have taken the whole package . And i take the good side of this , being in my HISTORICAL home , but also the not so nice side . I have seen how some religious behave in front of gentiles , not so nice . And i did not see much of "ve'ahata et re'echa kamocha" by some of them [ not all of course , there are many very fine religious people too ] For the Shoa who is there to blame ? who did not protect "his" people ? who could not intervene ? who did not want to intervene ? or worst of all "who" wanted this to happen ? Regarding the Shoa , i have no lessons to receive from anybody , and certainly not from those who accuse seculars for it .

charles ,   petach tikva   (02.12.07)
Yes bitter that this could happen here . But certainly not frustrated , i'm living in my HISTORICAL home . Here you have not to be religious to be Jewish . In galut it's different , certainly in your country . In my birth town you had less mixed couples than in the USA [ in % ] You had more [ probably more than 90 % ] of the Jewish children going full time to Jewish schools , not only religious , but also seculars . Here i am "babayit" if you understand Hebrew .
34. Deport them
Vitaliy, Esq. ,   Brooklyn, USA   (02.12.07)
This is simply unacceptable. This is an old phenomenon; Israel has been allowing Jews with Russian wives (who had Russian kids from their first marriages) in. If they are not willing to convert, they should not be allowed. This everyday anti-Semitism is why we all left the Soviet Union. It's not about Shinui, Kadima, Likud...This is about the Jewish state. Start creating some sort of standards to keep vandals out. What Israel doesn't have its own criminals? It needs to import more?
35. If that's how they feel, why did they come?
Raymond from DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (02.13.07)
Given that Israel was founded as Jewish, democratic state, it should have been made clear they were expected to contribute to the development of that state on those terms. If they have a problem working with Jews, living with Jews, or having Jews set the cultural agenda, they need to ask themselves why they came and why they stay. It was disheartening a few years ago to first read of the building of new Russian Orthodox churches in Israel, anti-Semitic websites whose URLs end in "il", and the increasing demands for pork products, all trends traceable to the new olim. Stories of Jewish Agency personnel scouring Soviet towns for people with some Jewish background or Jewish relations suggested they didn't understand their true mission. While I'm sure the majority of immigrants from the FSU are decent, hard working folk, some folk need to consider moving on or back home. If legislation isn't already on the books to deal with this issue, it should be. Israel *must* be one place in the world where Jews won't be harassed for being Jews.
36. #29 Charles: You need to cut down on the pork chops.
Yacov ,   Ashkelon   (02.13.07)
The pig meat is clogging your brain cells. Stick to kosher beef, chicken and fish.
37. We let these vodka guzzling pork eaters into Israel.
Yacov ,   Ashkelon   (02.13.07)
We are destroying Israel ourselves by letting these vodka-guzzling pork eaters into Israel and destroy our Jewish culture and heritage. A one-way ticket back to their original homeland is the solution, just as a free ticket brought them here to defile our Jewish homeland. They can defile their original countries however they wish. We do not need to let them defile Israel.
38. That Is What Happen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

39. CLOSE THE SOCHNUT
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (02.13.07)
It's become an infesting pool for power and money nothing else they haven't been doing any job for the past 40 years THEY STINK As for the bastard non Jewish Russians, throw them into the first plane to beloved Siberia Good foreign workers who aren't neither antisemits nor criminals are thrown in this manner back to Phillipines They deserve even worse AND CLOSE THAT SOCHNUT PLUHHHLEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzz
40. Is this Russian inmigration still going on?
Kevin G ,   Oregon   (02.13.07)
Are they still bringing Russians and other diluted "Jews" into Israel? Is there anything in the law that could be used to cancel their citizenship when caught in anti-Semitic or criminal acts? Do all inmigrants have to swear allegiance to their new country?
41. The Children
Kevin G ,   Oregon   (02.13.07)
Children with little or no Jewish blood whose families were recruited to come to Israel did not have a choice. Now they are acting out their frustration and they should be given all assistance necessary to return to their countries of origin once they reach adulthood. This must be done before they establish themselves with jobs and families. A similar deal must be offered to every Russian, whatever his or her religious affiliation. As soon as possible.
42. Everyone here is misunderstanding the situation
Vitaliy, Esq. ,   Brooklyn, NY   (02.13.07)
Most of these anti-Semites are not children of mixed marriages. Please, do not lump two issues into one. Most of these people ended up coming as non-Jewish children (from first marriage) of the non-Jewish spouses of Jewish immigrants. In fact, it was so common it made it into Russian jokes. The problem is that these people did not choose by themselves to come to Israel. Their mothers chose it for them. 99% of them are not half, quarter, or at all Jewish. So, do not equate the two problems.
43. To the racist Yaacov
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.13.07)
Maybe the "food" you are taking inside your body has harmed you , go to visit a doctor or psychiater . You don't know me , but let me tell you , that since i have Shomre Shabbat relatives and friends , my kitchen is kosher , i'm respecting them .
44. Gabriela
charles ,   Petach tikva   (02.13.07)
I do not agree with closing the Sochnut , they brought me HOME . OK , they asked approx 300 ILS for their administration costs , but when i arrived at Ben Gourion , all my papers were there , i was awaited . So at least for me , they made a good job . If you don't do anything , you can't make mistakes . The Sochnut does much to bring HOME many people , so inevitably , there are some , or many mistakes . It's not the the Sochnut who made the "return law" . Has probably to be corrected because there are "olim" who don't belong to this country . This is not a majority of the Russian immigrants , most of them are good citizens and contribute to the state .
45. verbal abuse
carol ,   eilat   (02.13.07)
maybe if the goverment would stop giving financial help most of these people would not come to israel.British canadian american immigrants dont receive the same financial aid all immigrants should be treated the same

I AGREE WITH YOU HUNDRED PERCENT FOREIGN WORKERS PAY TAXES AND DONT COMPLAIN AND YET ARE TREATED WITHOUT RESPECT
47. So where is Yossi Beilin to defend these anti-semites
Antonio ,   Haifa   (02.13.07)
like he always defends Arabs?
48. Are all of Russians antisemists? May be a small part of them
Russian-Jewish ,   Tel-Aviv   (02.13.07)
Like a part of Jewishes that HATE the Russians. And THIS all of repatriants feel very strong.
49. Hey David (Holon)
leon ,   Grand Rapids USA   (02.13.07)
Your accusatory posting says it all. Your key term is AUTHENTIC converts. This, of course denies validity to all but Orthodox converts. This splits the Jewish people in the Diaspora, and denies the fact that the overwhelming majority is not orthodox.
50. Damir (russia)
leon ,   Grand Rapids USA   (02.13.07)
You're right. In Polish, Zyd is a perfectly correct term. However, Poles are so perfectly consumate Jew-haters, that they have invented countless other pejorative terms for Jews, such as "Zydek, Zydlak", etc. etc.
51. My Russian-speaking students
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (02.13.07)
The majority of my English language students (adults) are Russian speakers. They are wonderful and eager to learn. This is a phenomenon hidden from most native Hebrew-speakers because they don't understand Russian. Many people were literally dragged here either as the spouse of a Jew or the children of one Jewish parent. They are resentful of having had to adapt themselves to an environment totally alien to their way of life. This probably occurs, however, more with people from Ukraine or Russia and not from the southern Republics (Uzbekistan, etc.) It would be impossible to deport kids who do this. They need counseling and education. Unfortunately, the school system is not equipped to do this seeing as how they have de-Zionized and de-Judaized their education. I have also heard that Russian-speaking kids are going to be educated together - separate from the 'Israeli' kids. I think this is a big mistake! It will only create more antagonism - on both sides!
52. Let me tell you a story....
jo jo ,   israel   (02.13.07)
The Jewish agency out of Ukraine, brought an immigrant here; she made no pretense to be other than Orthodox GREEK Christen. While in the absorption center, she becomes deathly sick; on account that she had cancer and was well into her early 80's. Well, while in the hospital before releasing her ghost back unto her Lord Jesus Christ, she said, " I do not want to be buried here in Israel, all my family is in Russia" (meaning all her deceased relatives graves). "Bury me in Russia". Well, in case my story telling sucks, or there are perhaps a few slower readers, I will recap the story. We paid to fly a deathly sick women that could not support herself in the State of Israel over from Russia. The deathly sick woman never professed to be other then Greek Christen. She died after a few months, (I think 4 if I recall correctly), and wanted to be flown back to Russia to be buried. Yep, this is the end, the Shleach's or recruiters made a commission on the body bringing it here, and we foot the bill. Just another idiot tax me and you will have to pay. SHUT DOWN THE JEWISH AGENCY. Keep an open return policy, but shut this grossly corpulent, bloated corrupt beast down.
53. #43 Charles: Kosher kitchen? Try Porkaholics Anonymous
Yacov ,   Ashkelon   (02.13.07)
So you cook your pork chops on your backyard grill. You might try Porkaholics Anonymous. It is modeled on Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Gamblers Anonymous. It is a 12 step program that helps those trying to recover from their pork addictions and the associated goyim lifestyle. They would work wonders for you and your attitude in your porkaholic recovery.
54. Yacov
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.13.07)
You are well aware of those pork organisations . Are you a member of them or one of those animals you dislike? A self hating pork ! In a language i know they say that by yourself you know others , so if you are a lier , you think every one is one . If you don't believe , come to see by yourself . Do you dare ?
55. Carol of Elat # 45
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.13.07)
West European Olim do not receive anything neither [ exept the plane , 6 months free health care , one year Arnona reduction ] But i think we are better off than those who receive , they mostly need this help . I won't complain about this , let them give to the needy .
56. I believe this problem is WORSE than the Arabs, here is why.
Haifa, Israel   (02.13.07)
They are destroying our country from within. Some purposefully. They are not merely secular Jews who are lashing out at religious Jews, but they are SIMPLY Christians who deceived the government and immigrated to Israel!!! What can we do? I propose a reformation of immigration policies and stricter and tighter investigations into the backgrounds and "Judaism" of the new immigrants from this country (and in general from all countries). I'd like to get involved in this Soviet Union issue politically, but how?. If anybody is working on this issue. If so, please respond to this message and I will see it. Thanks.
57. #56
Kevin G ,   Oregon   (02.13.07)
You'd first have to sort the issue of who benefits from this influx of non-Jews. I think that the Israeli Arabs are a more difficult problem because of the international support they have harnessed. It will be easier to deal with anti-Semitic and criminal Russians. They are very recent arrivals and they still have strong connections with Mother Russia so a repatriation could be worked out. When you add up all the following numbers and translate them into votes, it is a very unsettling result: you have the Russians, the Christian Ethiopians, and the Leftists. Then you have the Arabs who are a demographic time bomb and who are already demanding a so called "binational state". What is the result of this in terms of percentage of votes? Who will be making decisions in Israel in the future? The Jews have nowhere else to go. Israel is a Jewish country and rules of "multiculturalism" do not apply there. Please research the reason why Israeli officials are keeping a lid on news of this kind. The internet should be your greatest tool in gathering reports of anti-Semitism and on the official government response or lack of response to those reports. Authorities need to be shamed into acting. I wish you success in your endeavors. When there's a will, there's a way. Good luck.

gabriela ben ari   (02.14.07)
I tend to agree with you. I tend to see Israel in a holistic way, like an integral body Our own problems are like cancer, and arabs are like infections, which could be better dealt with, as in any inmune system according to our inner stregths. Problem is we don't have much of those. Leftists, non russian jews and corruption are always swiftly swept under the carpet and always udermining any efforts to shape up. Once these are history, arab terror in Israel will be too
59. 56 - Just an idea
Jake ,   USA   (02.14.07)
It may be helpful for you to connect with like-minded organizations abroad. Israelis have too many problems right now and you may not find it easy to get effective local support. If you find support within Israel, great. Otherwise get help abroad for the first part of your plan, including the setting up of a system for gathering and organizing data. You will also need some legal advice both for you and for the process itself. Once you have a plan, you and your supporters can target the right people in Israel and do your lobbying. Get some media-savy advisors because that's how it needs to be done. It's not enough to be right. You've got to use the media to show the rightfulness of your cause. Israelis shouldn't wait for the government or their leaders to show them the way. It's all up to people like you. Good luck.
60. There is a snag
Damir ,   Russia   (02.14.07)
Those people are now citizens of Israel and their citizenship of Soviet Union (or Russia or Ukraine) is cancelled. So I see there no legal way to deport them anywhere. But economic situation in Russia slowly betters and there are talks about some kind of our own Law Of Return. Currently the criteria for bieng Russian is held as the ability to speak Russian. This might be a way to let those sad peolpe where they belong although on their own will. Anyway man can't live a life in a country which he hates.
