3. Missing Israeli
Joe Simon ,   Israel   (02.13.07)
First, let them prove - beyond a shadow of a doubt - that they have him and that he is in good health. Second, let them prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he was never mistreated in any manner whatsoever. Then we'll talk.
4. release him without conditions or face death
Don   (02.13.07)
5. Abandonment
Arie ,   Afula   (02.13.07)
Olmert Peretz Livni and Peres have already abandoned the three soldiers kidnapped last summer. Why should we think they would give a damn about a soldier missing almost 10 years?
6. Israel must treat ant attack as being by Syrian army
Lemar ,   UK   (02.13.07)
Israel cannot allow another independant army. It must treat any attacks as by Syria and retaliate strongly
7. ten years
carol ,   eilat   (02.13.07)
unbelievable no trace of this soldier ten years on and suddenly he was kidnapped i bet his parents are confused and happy to know hes alive
8. to no 1
fish ,   t-a   (02.13.07)
Note that Israel has to deal with countries which don't a central government, like lebanon ( this country doesn't seem to be able to rule itself, so maybe it should become a protectorate of France), Syria(which now has independent terror groups), PA which is a hot bed of all sorts of gangs with bombastic names - like Holy Mo*******ing Martyrs of World Jihad( kids in the kindergartens usually play such games but these imbeciles in PA sadly have real guns), Egypt ( which can't deal with weapons trafficking to Gaza, or so they say), hey, are we supposed to talk peace with these nations? You, dear Lebanese neighbour should address you complaints to turbaned hoodlums, who turned your once-beautiful country into a military playground. I can frankly it;'s very sad, as majority of Israelis wish to have peace with your countries, but Iran and Mr Nasrallah obviously have other ideas for Lebanon.
9. First of all, proof is needed
Chaya ,   Bat Yam, Israel   (02.13.07)
If it is proven that he is, indeed, alive, then the nine prisoners should be released.
10. #7 and #9
elsa ,   tel aviv   (02.13.07)
who ever said anything about him being alive? you really think they'd hold on to him for ten years, feeding him and all that, without saying a word? he's not alive and they didn't say he was. If they do have him, which i doubt, they are simple agreeing to repatriate his body to Israel in return for the release of the syrian prisoners.
11. missing
carol ,   eilat   (02.13.07)
how many more missing peoplecdo we have in the country maybe they also were kidnapped should be investigated
12. there is hope10
carol ,   eilat   (02.13.07)
we should pray this young soldier is alive there is always hope food is not a big issue compared to how many prisoners will be exchanged israel should stop feeding inmates and exchange for all the kidnapped soldiers
13. Arabs, get a clue..make peace..POW exchange
David ,   Boston, USA   (02.13.07)
Every other civilized country does it. Why cant Syria, Lebanon and others?
14. Sounds like complete nonsense ..
redmike ,   tel aviv and london   (02.13.07)
Seems like another case of wanting to get convicted prisoners released by bluffing. The obvious thing in the case of Hezbulla, Hamas and now this "group' is to supply a video which clearly shows the person is alive NOW and then to try and come to an arrangement. Anything else should be totally ignored.
15. resistance committee should be attacked by sterilizing flees
ahmed bornstein ,   ny. ny   (02.13.07)
may this yimach shmo "committe for the liberation of the golan heights" all be attacked by flees that sterilize and perilize the scrotums of all members of this so called "committee"..
16. corpses for terrorists
m ,   tlv   (02.14.07)
i cant believe we are about to yet again trade them terrorists for what will probably be is a dead body. I feel terrible for the friends and family of this poor kid/soldier but if we keep trading dead bodies for terrorists thats all we are ever going to get back from them. we need to stop this practice once and for all. Even though a hundred of their worthless lives arent worth one of ours we still want to keep ours alive and this doesnt seem to be working. let us talk trade when we see our soldiers being ok not when we are trading dead bodies for live terrorists to make more dead bodies.
17. Arabs Riot when We Build them a new Ramp
Dan   (02.14.07)
We do NOTHING when they take our soldiers. Sick.
18. we'll trade you tibi, barakeh and a draft pick
aaron ,   ra'anana   (02.14.07)
19. Proof of Life
J K ,   NYC, USA   (02.14.07)
All these terorrist groups declare, "We have so and so, and if you want to see him again, you will give us X Y and Z" All of this is complete nonsense. No one has a tape, and image, a picture with any of these soldiers alive and holding that days newspaper. This is all BS propoganda and psy ops unless proved otherwise. If I was Olmert (and thank G-d Im not) I would officially denonce whoever makes these pronouncement as liars and dare them to prove otherwise. Words mean jack. Offer some evidence or shut up.
20. Return of captives
Doug Miller ,   Miami Beach, USA   (02.14.07)
The only way that the Arabs living in and around Israel will ever behave like civilized human beings is if they fear the consequences for behaving like cruel monsters. If Syria has been holding Guy Hever in violation of the Geneva Convention and every other standard of human decency, they need to pay a price. After receiving fair warning they need to lose a building a day, starting with the dictator's palace, until the hostage is returned. By the way, that policy should also be applied to Hezbullah and the PA. If we are ever to have peace, then the bad guys must be defeated.
21. #18, Amen to that! Well said!
Beth Landau ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (02.14.07)
22. Act of War
Mordechai ,   Boca Raton USA   (02.14.07)
For Syria to hold an Israeli soldier is an act of war. Israel should let Syria know he must be released or face the destruction of Damascus.
23. Assad: to convince world you're for real, abandon terror
Zvi ,   USA   (02.14.07)
But you won't, because you're a thug and a leader of thugs. You have no other strategy besides widespread murder, witness intimidation, drug smuggling, gun running, assassination, terrorism, violence, threats and destruction. All thug groups in Syria work for you, Bashar. Everybody knows it. Anyone supporting the Syrian junta has either been bribed, or is congenitally stupid and should be treated like the vacuous moron that s/he is.
24. # 13
