As difficult as it sounded to him, G-d told him to sacrifice his yahid son. G-d looks for our obedience and love above all things or people, and nothing less. That was Avraham's test, wasn't it? Why is this situation any different? To you, it seems that doing nothing will result in the needless deaths of many innocents. Yet, incredibly, G-d tells you He (and He alone) will rise up and DEFEND those very innocents. Is this easy for me to write from Pennsylvania, USA? NO! I'm scared, too.
