(02.15.07)
I am totally surprised that the authors of the geneva "initiative" did not attend the Shoad denial conference in Iran with the Naturei Karta as their leaders
2. Abbas has no mandate to negotiate...
Jonno ,   Oz   (02.15.07)
he only has a mandate extort undeserved concessions from Israel
3. Geneva initiative
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (02.15.07)
These people have no more authority to negotiate a "peace settlement" for Israel than Cindy Sheehan and Sean Penn have authority to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq.
4. Belins out to defend arab interests as usual
zionist forever   (02.15.07)
Belin & co .. allways looking for a solution that will benefit arabs more than Israel. First there was his geneva initiative which he campaigned on pretty much giving arabs everything they want even putting some of Israels security in the hands of the PA to be based on goodwill. Now he wants the Saudi plan .. Israel gives the arabs everything a plan rejected by Israel, the quartet and the PA in favour of the roadmap but no Israels left want to ditch the roadmap which would allow Israel to keep some of the settlements, doesnt specify a complete return to the pre war borders and didnt demand that the Golan was given to Syria. The Saudis demanded it all and as usual if it benefits arabs then Belin loves it. Syria was also against the Saudi plan in 2002 because it didnt demand that Israel give up its nukes which was Syrian condition. Time for Israels left wing politicians to stop caving in and everytime the arabs mention the word peace they stop jumping up and saying tell us what you want if you give us peace. Israel has some of the worst negotiators in the entire world and the arabs have some of the best and Israel says ok guys you know best and thats why they allways seems to win the wars when they are fought at a negotiating table. Give the arabs as much as possible and demand as little as possible in return has become the israeli politcal attitude since the begining of oslo.
5. Time wasting
zeev geneva ,   geneva   (02.15.07)
Again and again, time wasting. The only possible solution to reach peace is the create one democratic state with equal rights for all. regardless of their religion, sex, color or ethnicity. One state or two coffins.
6. CONFERENCE LAND
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (02.15.07)
There is disney land and now we can open conference land. Here all public figures and other wise guys can come up with very cathcy names for many more useless accords or peace plans. A good lacotion would be on the moon, were there is less hot air. Because with all those inflated airheads, like diplomats and not to forget our public figures,we need lots of space for these very big egos. And ofcourse we are very happy that Ynet will be there to fulfill there greatness as a ever dependent news source.
7. #1-6
Michael ,   Haifa   (02.15.07)
You can all yell, scream and shout your standard bravado verbiage here, but the end product will be the Geneva agreement whether you like it or not.
8. #7Mike-End product depends on One capable of
robert ,   usa   (02.15.07)
... backing His word. You seem to have forgotten the Holy One who established Israel in the first place. I would count more on His stated intention than yours.
9. Beilin the Putz
jeremy ,   Hula Valley Kibbutz   (02.15.07)
Beilin and his Geneva initiative staff are all treators to our country. Beilin just doesn't get it. No one is going to listen to him, no one wants him. His initiative is as usefull as his Oslo accords.
10. YES #7 MICHAEL
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (02.15.07)
You will be in conference land for sure, your response proves me right. Lots of air and no space to learn anything. Enjoy la la land.
11. #7 "Geneva" initators have no authority
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (02.15.07)
Earth to Michael: the "Geneva initiative" is a fantasy dreamed up by a bunch of delusional idiots who have NO AUTHORITY to make any "deals" in the name of the government. For you to claim it will be "the end product" is more delusion. Nobody elected these retards and their fake "negotiations" are nothing but mental masturbation.
12. RE:5 ... time wasting
zionist forever   (02.15.07)
One democratic state with equal rights for all regardless of sex, colour or ethnicity. I am sure that around 90% of the palestians would go for something along those lines including alot of hamas members but 90% of Israels jews are against that they want a spesificly jewish state even the secular ones who take no interest in religion in general want a jewish state not what your proposing. So what are your ideas somehow force the jews to accept the single state idea andc punish Israel if they dont accept? There are also 22 existing arab states and combined they have more territory than there is in Europe why is it Israel that allways needs to make the sacriifices to please the arabs . The Arab Legue laws forbid any arab state to grant citizenship to palestians .. in other words so they can be pawns against Israel which even moderate arab states want to see wiped off the map even if they dont say so publicly. Instead of holding discusions on how the arab world can help the palestians they discuss what sacrifices Israel can make for the palestians.
13. European $$ financed Geneva they dont like Israeli democrcy
zionist forever   (02.15.07)
The whole idea of the Geneva initiative was based on foreign governments trying to intefere with an ellected government and create their own solution. The financing of this plan was about $1 million paid for by Switzerland & other European governments. Belin was not a member of the government so he had no right to be doing deals with foriegn foreign governments or palestian politicians and then he tried to sell it to the Israeli public even though it was completly the opposite of the governments politcal plans. When ordinary individuals are allowed to go behind the backs of the government and with foreign money to do deals with enemy politicians then there is no room for democracy. What would happen if an ordinary American got togother with Ahmadinjad and they did their own deal on the futurue of Irans neuclear program and then went home and told the country I have reached an agreement with Ahmajinidad which is contary to the presidednts policy.
