1. Israel Devours It's Own, While Hamas Forges Ahead
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. USA   (02.18.07)
Israel is losing it's best and brightest and most experienced law enforcers and military people, thanks to nothing more than hyped up allegations that have little or no merit, until proven. This is nonsense and is ultimating Israel's very foundation, if not it's defense. Reminds me of the witch hunters in my own country during the early part of the last century, and the century before that. If Israel's police were that bad, why wasn't something done about it long before? No, this is simply an outgrowth on Israel's instability in general in the M.E, and political decisions forced on your leadership by our leadership. I mean, who is kidding whom? Olmert meeting with Abbas and Condi, when the unity govt won't even recognize Israel or, for that matter, even talk about it. Give me a break. To Israel: wake up.
2. Sharon - the Father of all corruption
Itzik ,   Haifa   (02.18.07)
Sharon knew everything about everyone. His "farm gang" had checked everyone before any appointment. He was the boss and he had learnt his tricks from the granfather of all the corruption Mr. Beilin. Sharon saw how Beilin and Peres sweem in cash ("Peres Peace Institute", Beilinn's "Geneva trip", "saudi peace initiative"). eveything very well founded by shady characters.
3. Sharon
jan ,   usa   (02.18.07)
Sharon was once a mighty warrior and a courageous leader. Then one day his past began to catch up to him and he sold his soul and Israel to the devil for a mere 30 pieces of silver. Now he's in a coma, and he has left Israel to pay the price. How the mighty have fallen.

6. Corruption
Abir ,   Chicago, IL USA   (02.19.07)
Nothing can be of surprise anymore. We are in every sense of the word, a third world country. The "Kastach" (cover your butt) culture has been at the heart of our institutions for a long time with different flaovors manifesting at different times. Be it the army, police, Government ministries, various organizations, and it was allowed to prevail. With the amounts of money changing hands in these corruption scandals it would have been possible to resolve all of our education, health, security, welfare and other issues. But instead, we let corruption become the norm and prefer the palms up policy of soliciting funds and donations from abroad, playing on the sentiments of the Jewish Diaspora. Anyone who gets elected in Israel or appointed to a high office is not obligated to the public, but rather to the political party or the folk that put him in office, and he in turn feels obligated to fill his and his buddies coffers at the public's expense. After all, how else could he express his gratitude? How else could he ensure his place at their table? In Israel, if you are not part of an interest group (a political party or an "Amuta") one does not stand a chance. It is not about what you are but rather who you know. Not "Kishurim" (talent) but rather "Ksharim " (connections) is what counts.
7. #6 corruption
Lola ,   Nevada   (02.19.07)
I agree. They managed to make enemy #1 the most interesting and honest person in Israel, Gaydamak.
