1. The Greens' ambitions are coming true
Rachel ,   Negev   (02.21.07)
The environmentalists, led by the Nature Protection Society, appear to reject the rights of Jews to live anywhere in the Land of Israel, including the Negev where they do everything in their power to hold back Jewish settlement while they turn a completely blind eye to the widespread and irreversible destruction of the land by illegal building by Arabs. They have a definite agenda and it is a political one. As far as they are concerned, the fewer Jews around the better while Arabs can do anything they want.
2. Perfidy
jerry ,   USA   (02.21.07)
Might this chapter in history be in need of review at this point in history? http://www.hirhome.com/israel/leaders4.htm
3. Jerusalem is for Jews
Chaim ,   Malha   (02.21.07)
The city of Jerusalem should be for Jews only.. I am sorry to say this but look at Mecca - this is our holy city.. so we can have our own rules! The UN, the USA, the EU need to take us seriously.. why can other nations have limits and rules and we can not? We should just do what we think is right... or the Arab and other populations will just out grow us! If we want to survive we have to take action - one one else can!
4. good news
Jamal Aboud ,   Ramallah   (02.21.07)
good news for us in the Holy Land. thanks ynet for bringing the joy to our hearts. toda!
5. #3 Jerusalem belongs to God
Hani ,   PS   (02.21.07)
It's a seat of the 3 monotheist religions. Learn to question your fascist ideologies about jews "owning" Jerusalem because that simply isn't true from both a historical and current perspective. Eventually Jerusalem will be either shared by the 2 states or open to international administration and all tourists/visitors/worshippers will be welcome.
6. I don't buy any of these stats-They ALWAYS prove wrong
gabriela ben ari ,   jerusalem   (02.21.07)
On top, this was the first year that birth rate for Jewish women in Jerusalem "beated" arab's women birth rate
7. Not only in Jerusalem
israel   (02.21.07)
This trend in Whole Israel! We have to do something NOW. Just Liberman's plan is good to ensure jewish state for long time.
8. That proofs
A.C ,   Jerusalem   (02.21.07)
The only way to keep the jews majority in Jerusalem and all israel is to hand over east Jerusalem to the palestinians. or u gonna end up with an arab majority in the city by less than 10 years
9.  No problem- build an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood there
Dani ,   Tel Aviv   (02.21.07)
And within 5 years it won`t be an issue. They have twice as many kids as the Arabs do- literally, and once they have critical mass in a location, more and more move in too. Look at Beitar, now the largest Jewish community in Judea and Samaria. Look at Ramat Beit Shemesh, at Modiin Illite, etc. You leftists always complain about demography, but you`re too hypocritical to do anything about it. The religious Jews don`t worry at all but do do something about it.
10. This calls for a toast !
Dhimmi ,   Occupied Israel   (02.21.07)
11. #5 Jerusalem Belongs To The Nation Of Israel
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (02.21.07)
But if you will share Mecca that would be a significant gesture of good will; even let non-Muslims VISIT. I think we should act quid pro quo with OUR Jerusalem: Catholics let others visit their Vatican, so I would welcome them to OUR Jerusalem. If Muslims don't let others even VISIT their Mecca, then we shouldn't let them visit OUR Jerusalem. If they DO let us visit their Mecca, then we should let them visit OUR Jerusalem. But no matter what, they better not try to steal OUR Jerusalem.
12. Teddy Kollek was so focused on bringing more chilonim in
Daniel van Dalen ,   Jerusalem   (02.21.07)
And this is the result. Hahaha. Kollek was obsessed with getting chareidim out and seculars in. You want to change / prevent this? Throw all seculars out to Tel Aviv. And give all of Jerusalem to us chareidim. We'll put a young family in every house in no time.
13. There is more Arab history here than Jewish!
Historian   (02.21.07)
Jewish history in Jerusalem, or Palestine to that matter is really negligible when compared to the Arab mark on this land. From the early times of History, Arabians have dominated this area. Whether Canaanites (originally Arabian tribes) moving in and inhabiting the Land and building Jerusalem in 2500 BC. Canaanites built most of the Palestinian cities. From Jericho, to Jerusalem, from Hebron to Besan... All these are Canaanite cities that are Arabic in origin. The history of Arabs/Arabians is longer than most people on this forum know. Scientists never disagreed that the Canaanites are the original founders of Jerusalem. Later under the Islamic rule, Arabs continued to dominate the city for 14 centuries continuosly even under the Crusader period.
14. To 11...YOUR What?????
Ali ,   Lebanon   (02.21.07)
I don't understand ur analogy between Mecca and Jureslam but maybe I am not that well informed about Judaisim. Does Mecca have any significance for Jews ?????? Juresalam does. It is considered the 3rd most important religious spot for Islam.
15. Jerusalem, 5000 years of Arab history
Palestinian   (02.21.07)
16. #15: How do you define "arab"?? (End)
Tobias   (02.21.07)
17. Israe: Does not allow Arab to build houses in Jerusalem
Arab Jerusalemite   (02.21.07)
when they do, they destroy their buildings. they do not issue any construction license. They do not allow jerusalmites who travel and leave the country for more than 3 years to return!! The reason is that Arab Jerusaelmites are only permenant residents but not citizens. If they are working aborad for more than 3 years, they loose their rights to live! Israel is a BS racist state that will go down one day
18. to 5 and 11
someone ,   occupied Jaffa   (02.21.07)
your comments are so fascist...arabs have a very long history in jerusalem, both muslim and christian. on the other hand, jerusalem is filled with jews with russian, ashkenazi or moroccan origin, who have no connection to this land (especially the russians, and you know im right..) so, maybe theyre the ones who should leave?
19. To 14: It's Really Quite Simple
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (02.21.07)
If OUR city of Jerusalem is so important to Muslims, then Muslims will behave in a manner that makes us want to allow them access. Trying to steal OUR land- OUR city, and mistreating every who isn't a Muslim in YOUR lands isn't how you will get that. PS Way back when, the Muslims wiped out all Jews in the Hizaj; killed all men and took the women and children. When will you allow Jews back to Mecca and Medina?
20. #11 Factual Errors about Jerusalem
Hani ,   Palestine   (02.21.07)
Here are some questions which hopefully will induce you to think critically: 1) When were jews in effective control over Jerusalem? For how long? 2) When were jews a majority in Jerusalem? For how long? 3) Is Mecca significant to Jews? is there Jewish holy sites there? 4) Is the Vatican the spiritural and historical origin of Christianity? Do you realize that France once hosted the Catholic church seat? Constanipole? Rings a bell? 5) Were was Jesus born? 6) How many Palestinians worlwide are actually Christians? In Islam, Mohammed PBUH referred to Jerusalem as "Ula Al Kiblatain, Thaleth Al haramain Al Sharifain" - Meaning The first Qibla, and third holiest site Your attempt to seperate Islam from Jerusalem and Palestine is simply futile. Historically, demographically, and politically Islam has been interwined with Jerusalem since the early Ummayad dynasties, through the Abbasids, Memluks, and finally the Ottomans. You can argue all you want, try to distort and spread lies... The point is, this article proves you are just PLAIN WRONG by claiming "Jerusalem is ours". Remember that West Jerusalem is a modern city. Prior to 1967 Jordan (and effectively the Arabs) were in full control over the old city. Finally I'd like to stress that the emerging Palestinian state would protect not only the rights of its muslim citizens but also its christian population and encourage christians in the diaspora to return to a free Palestine were everyone is equal, including the Jewish settlers.
21. # 13 "Historian"
Josef ,   Finland   (02.21.07)
Your words prove you are a "historian" and, by the way, after the post-Muhammad intruders came, most of the time Jerusalem has been under non-Arab rule. Id est, Crusaders, Ottomans, Britons. What about learning to count from 1 to 10 and then later, perhaps, starting to call yourself as historian. Just a reality check.
22. #20 Factual Errors about Jerusalem
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (02.21.07)
Since you are so confused, this should help you: http://www.mythsandfacts.com/NOQ_OnlineEdition/Chapter3/jerusalem1.htm OUR city of Jerusalem isn't even MENTIONED in the Quran, and when Muslims in OUR city pray, they pray with their BACKS to OUR city. Mohammed was NEVER here. There were more Jews than Arabs even at the time of the 1st Ottoman census. The Philistines never ruled OUR city, and they never will. Finally, I'd like to stress that Muslims can live in OUR land IF they behave. I think we should offer them the status of dhimmis- just as they offered us in THEIR lands. Deal? What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If they refuse, then they have to leave OUR land.
23. #20
Israeli Racist ,   Judea   (02.21.07)
#20, according to your reply all dhimmis will be welcome in your illusionary entity.... lol Do yourself a favor stop the commie propaganda you are spewing out as intellectual mastra.......and start checking on 2 imprtant items you and your family will need in the future 1) knee pads for all the bending for repentince as ishmael did when david son of jesse appears to teach the gentile world TORAH 2) check into plane tickets if you will not stay here in our land and learn to be a bnei-noach with its 7 laws, no stealing allowed.....#20 These are more important then the historical rubbish all the so called descendents of the immoral cannites do on these talkbacks lets see if ynet censors this............
24. First,second, third and fourth steps.
Keren ,   SP-now in Israel   (02.21.07)
-Make muslims actions illegal in Israel. No more riots,no more manifestations, clum! -muslims must SERVE the state of Israel, the way Israel determines them to,without threatening Israel's security,of course, because ,untill they prove the opposite, they are a real threat.I mean, putting them in posts inside the Israel's army, that interests Israel and only Israel. -No more arabs traitors in the knesset. And if they don't like it all,Israel should create mechanisms to send them out of here. Not too much to think about:or us or them. I don't have to ask who,do I?
25. to 20, answers to your questions
someone ,   occupied Jaffa   (02.21.07)
1. only since 1967. 2.thousands of years ago, then after 1948 (due to expelling arab natives from homes). 3. no, no. 4. no. the historial and spiritual origin of christianity is palestine, specifically bethlehem, nazareth and jerusalem. 5. Bethlehem 6. there are 1 million palestinian christians worldwide (approximately 11% of all palestinians) anything else my friend?? hehe
26. Another fact for clueless Hani
Dani ,   Tel Aviv   (02.21.07)
The Abassids, the Ummayads, the Ottomans; did any of them ever make Jerusalem into their capital? No. Did they ever even make it into a regional capital? No. What they did do was disrepectfully point their asses towards Jerusalem as they prayed towards Mecca. And cut the bull about Muhammed visiting. The word 'Jerusalem' isn't found anywhere in the Koran. No wonder. Your 'prophet' probably never heard of Jerusalem beyond from the Jews who lived around him (before he massacred them).
27. #24 Only one step for you!
Hani ,   Palestina tera santa   (02.21.07)
Leave Palestine, go back to Sao Paulo, they have nice churrascarias there (and samba to dance away your sorry pittiful existance). Your fascist + Zionist ideas just make me laugh, do you take yourself seriously? I mean your diatribe is full of humor as well! Ciao , mais tarde Dhimmi xxx :)
28. JERUSALEM IS FOR ISRAEL BUT...
Lebanese Australian. ,   AUSTRALIA   (02.21.07)
Israel is meant to be the people of God. The Jews consider themselves the people of God, the Christians consider themselves to be the people of God and muslims considers themselves to be the people of God. We all by definition are "Israel" this is the true meaning of the word. I want to point that, many christians & muslims who live in the Middle East now are decendents of Jews ancestors. Therefore, it is very logical that every person who believes in God has the right to pray in Jerusalem and to consider Jerusalem a sacred place. We all love Jerusalem, Jews, Christians & Muslims. We should respect each others rights and work togrther on solving our differences in a peacefull & civilised way. We all know the the Jews were denied this right by muslims & christians throughout history & Muslims denied this right by the crusaders for few centuries & christians were denied this right too during another part of history. It is time now for reconciliation in Jerusalem. Where every body shall worship on his own way the one God freely..
29. Arab population explosion Threat
Brod ,   USA   (02.21.07)
The Arab Islamist-Jihadists have multiple wives and they produce exponentially. It is 4 wives x 4 kids = 16 kids to a family. They can sustain it with Saudi Wahhabi funding to flood a nation with Islamist-Jihadists.
30. If This Is The Case .....
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (02.21.07)
Then obviously our gov't is negligent, as usual. The obvious solution is to cancel residency permits for non-citizens. We could call it disengagement - if it worked in Gaza on Jews, it should work even better on Arabs. P.S. - Canaanites were NOT Arabs. They did not speak Arabic, they spoke a language almost identical to Hebrew, as did our neighbors the Moabites, Edomites, & Phoenicians. Philistines were Greeks. There were no Arabs here until the Arab conquest about 700 AD. Prior to that, this was part of the Byzantine Empire - inhabited by Jews, Samaritans, Greeks, & some Romans. The Israelite tribes conquered Canaan around 1200 BC & it is obvious that they absorbed the original Canaanite population, since they adopted the Canaanite language (Hebrew) as well as many customs & poetry which survives in the Torah. So, learn your history & stop believing myths.
