31. Repercussions of Hamas ending ceasefire
Sam ,   Canada   (02.22.07)
If the truce is off and Hamas gives no hope for peace then there should be no restrictions on settlers moving into the west bank. The more religious settlers move in, the more Hamas will move out because they don't want to live with Jews.
32. UUUOOOAAAAAAHHAHAAA WE'RE SCAAAARED!

35. #22 Ryan - Great TB
Jake T ,   Alaska   (02.22.07)
We like your talkback. However, we need to lose our fear of not being liked by the rest of the world. The moment of truth is here. Israel either chooses between trying to please the world (which it will never achieve as long as there are Jews alive) or to save itself. No middle of the ground. Time is running out.
36. #28 Vote Lieberman? Why?
David H   (02.22.07)
He's already making deals with the Bedouin. Promising who knows what for their votes.
37. Are they still trying to get their Aid back?
Ryan ,   Calgary, Canada   (02.22.07)
What a bunch of nutcases, the world will be better without them.
38. What Truce was there?
Mary ,   USA   (02.22.07)
By- truce, did the Pali's mean - Burp? The Hamas asses just tried for another strike on Tel Aviv. There has been no TRUCE! Not on the Terrorists side.
39. where do you want the casualties
alan ,   kodiak alaska   (02.22.07)
The terrorists, and their political affiliation distinctions is now a SHAM, are unhappy that there was a failure of their suicide bombing attempt. They are unhappy Israel took the appropriate action of terminating the leader of the suicide bombing attempt. They are unhappy they are not rich, unhappy they are not accepted by the world community, unhappy about everything in the sun Except they are happy they have a society that oppresses women, teaches hate to children, seeks the destruction of their neighbor. In short Hamas, Fatah, et al represent the opposite of everything modern societies achieved after 500 years of struggle. How should the world deal with this Hamas/ Fatah destortion of modern values will determine whether modernity continues. This is an either or proposition it now appears/
40. what
toni ,   sabme   (02.22.07)

41. War of Attrition
infantry reservist ,   israel   (02.22.07)
we won't give up our naturals rights, our cousins are the last people in the word who can teach us, what is human rights. the long war has'nt been ended at all, but the people of the book will win in the end.
42. The teapot calling the kettle black
Steve ,   USA   (02.22.07)
B"H It is absolutely rediculous. Hamas and the PA dispatch a bomber. He fails. The one who did the dispatching instead was properly killed. And they want revenge for something they started! It seems rather plain to me how this cycle of violence starts and stops. Hamas and the PA send and they receive what they sent in the mirror. I do not have concern for the Israel. It is playing the game well. With results like this every one sent will receive his due measure and that will end the violence when no one further is available to send to be violent.
43. Hamas cant aford to back our of ceasefire
papa jay   (02.22.07)
Hamas cant afford to back out now that it's a political movement in power. hamas has not sent any bombers to israel in over 2 years. it's the price you have to pay to become a political party. hamas knows the moment they go back to bombers inside the green line, the world would not mind israel targeting their leadership. but now, israel cant touch them, they move around in motorcades freely exit and enter the strip. they cant afford to upset that balance.
44. #32, you're a fool if your not scared!
papa jay   (02.22.07)
but i'm guessing you live some where far far away nice a snug from all the troubles of the middle east. when i was in Jerusalem a few years back seeing a bus come in my direction was troubling. i believe all Israelis felt the same when there was no ceasefire.
45. Truce? What Truce? They are still killing each other!
Jellybean ,   Chicago   (02.22.07)
46. Belligerent dark forces
Brod ,   USA   (02.22.07)
The dark forces are belligerent as ever. There was never a truce. It was just a respite for them to rest, restock, retool, replenish, recruit and rearm. They only thing they understand is overwhelming force.
47. The UN is training Fatah forces in Gaza
Tracy W   (02.22.07)
According to the British Daily Telegraph, the UN training operation is being kept far away from the media, due to the sensitivity of a supposedly impartial UN choosing between competing terror groups within the Palestinian Authority. The Telegraph report added that a former British Royal Marine has been hired to lead the training of Fatah’s 250-man elite Force 17, which Mahmoud Abbas inherited from former PLO terror Chief Yasser Arafat. The men will reportedly be stationed at the Karni Crossing, along Gaza’s border with Israel. The UN is meant to be totally impartial, above party politics and factional fighting," explained a UN worker, "and so to be seen to be helping just the Presidential Guard. Source: INN
48. Addiction, this is what it is
Simon Mohammed ,   Falls Church, VA USA   (02.22.07)
49. The Honor of Palestinian resistance ?
Hiram ,   Tel Aviv   (02.22.07)
The Honor of Palestinian resistance was wiped out tin Dawson field the day the first jetliners were blown up by criminal organisation posing as freedom fighters. This honor has been further tarnished by the systemic plots, attacks, blackmail, corruption, and lies, which have characterized the so called "freedom fighting movment" for the last 35 years. Further to this, the so called "resistance" has been providing a double excuse to all of the street hoodlums and warlords in Gaza and territories posing as leaders, senior members, to attempt waging a religious war against the Jewish population. Palestinian " resistance " has been connected to all of the outlawed and terrorist organisation the world over whose common link is terror and indoctrination. Thehonor of palestinian resistance is a myth, a fake, as the "palestinian leaders" do not even realize that their actions are entirely controlled by Iran and Syria. The palestinian leaders have no honor, no word of value and have managed to turn their "nation" is such a mess that none of the arab countries even want to invest in support of their cause. The foiled suicide attempt of Feb 20th show that "they" have not yet understood that it is in their best interest to show some intelligence by accepting the existence of Israel and the disarmament. As long as there will be Islamists and guns in the open, there will be a palestinina resistance but certainly no honor. As long as Hanniyeh will spread words of hatred, and Abbas will play to the tune of Hamas, there will be no honor in palestinian resistance. Criminal have no honor. They are simply criminals and should be treated with no mercy .
50. how will we ever adjust to this new reality
Peter ,   Toronto canada   (02.22.07)
51. Truce! LOL. I didn't know there was one.
Avraham ,   Netivot   (02.22.07)
52. What Truce?
Israel   (02.22.07)
He was sending bombers into Israel to kill people, what truce? is it only a one-sided truce for the Palestinians. I'm glad our boys killed him, well done to them, they are fantastic - .
53. To the palis
Y ,   N   (02.22.07)
Stop you fighting and start building your own state. You have the Gaza strip. Now start making more than just kassams and give your people a future. Can you do that?
54. Which truce he's talking about?
Tobias ,   Germany   (02.22.07)
First, there was no truce in the West Bank - and this guy was killed in the West Bank. Second - The truce in the Gaza strip which Israel agreed upon with Hamas and Fatah 3 months ago, and which is respected by Israel until now, has been violated by the Islamic Jihad almost daily: Islamic Jihad attacked Israel with several dozens of Kassam rockets every month, and is also responsible for the suicide bombing in Eilat. So, as the Islamic Jihad doesn't want a truce, why should Israel keep to it?
55. oh no please!! it was so peaceful during the "truce"...
stephane ,   france   (02.22.07)
56. CEASEFIRE=ISRAEL-CEASE, PA-FIRE
PEACE DREAMS   (02.22.07)
57. HELLO HAMAS GOODBYE OLMERT
Zionist forever   (02.22.07)
Wonderfull news .. hamas now in a unity government with Abbas, hams carrying out terror attacks. The strain on Olmert can only increase and eventually there will be a no confidence vote in the kneset, his coalition will colapse and there will be nenw ellections which kadima will loose and most likley bring Likud and Natanyahu to power who will make real changes to Israels policy towards hamas and the rest of the terrorists ... no more softly softly approach where we have what you call a succesfull ceacefire where you dont let the IDF do anything but you will let the palestians fire as many rockets into Israel as they like.
