I have been to some arab countries. How many arabs i have met? I dont know. In the west some people go to prison for denying the Holocaust. But if yor read the papers here ang blogs and so on you will se many ignorant people denying that it ever took place. And most of these people dont go to prison for their oppinion. In the west people can criticise religion and history and politics as musch as they want and not go to prison for it. In many arab and muslim countries you cant do that. You have no democratic tradition and most certainly will not have democrazy for hundred of years. And the pity is that Israel have to live with you people as their neighbours.

PLease understand that I have nothing against your religion. The Koran is a great book with peaceful implications, BUT the way a lot of muslims interperet it is awful. Your religion is under siege by radical extreme elements that want the whole world to convert or die. I work for a Muslim Doctor and work along side a Muslim post-Doc and they agree 100% that Islam is not what it was meant to be. The biggest problem is what Brenda was reffering to...we don't see enough Muslims speak out and stand up for our shared values, like freedom of speech, equal rights to all including women and minorities. You cannot deny that Islam is a little behind in this respect. People in the US have a hard time understanding why Muslims hate us so much. And the Muslims who live here and in Europe don't seem to want to assimilate and join us in this fight, so of course there will be negative feelings towards your people.
