31. USA - Israel
charles ,   petach tikva   (02.23.07)
The American people knows that Israel is the ONLY country in this region who will not betray them , the only country on who the USA can rely on and also the ONLY country in the region who shares the same democratic values , the same struggle against terrorism . And that's why the American people supports us .

Thanks to all or most Americans for getting facts straight. Just one point : If arabs were just fighting to "free/liberate palestine" then they would have accepted, the division plan in 1947 or in Camp David II, in which Barak offered to "free" 93-98% of what arabs demanded then. Soon after the offer, I would even count the hours, the OSLO war started. Mind you a few years ago a poll conducted in Israel concluded that most arabs, at least around the Jerusalem Area, would give anything to remain under Israeli leadership and not palestinian. Problem is, they sneaked every suicide bomber into jewish areas with equal ease. I wish I knew what they really want, I wish -they- knew what they want Well dear the only "freedom" that will ever satisfy arabs/people like you is to give "free" rein to butcher any number of Jews. Given that, when "freedom" was offered, they totally turned it down. thanks

My point about america being hated is this. Israel is considered by all the countries in her region as a tumor, foreigner, illegitimate etc etc from there percpective this is understandable and i hope for your own sake you understand why if not no matter what i say it wont change your opinion (this probably wont either). To the palestinians Israel occupies all or at least most of their land. The nation is the occupation that is why a two state solution will never work. It really is the palestinian lands (go ahead say god gave it to the jews) if we are being democratic here we must first admit that when israel was formed their were far more palestinians then their were jews. Most of the jews their at the time came out of Europe and Russia Palestine was not their home (however their were some jews still living in the land) The palestinians have said over and over get the immigrants out but the jews that are have stuck around all this time are allowed to stay. Sheri read Ynet for a while jewish hate for arabs is there also maybe not as crude or in your face but that is a mask most jews in Israel truly hate the arabs. Sheri how can you say they were free. Come on first off all they had half their land taken from them then they were brutaly ethnically cleansed of their ancestorial lands. This is common facts no serious historian refutes this not even Israelis former foreign minister. During the time when Jordan occupied them their was still colonialism all over the world and it was coming to a stop at about the same time the british shifted their colony into jewish hands. Also the Jordanians werent kicking them out of their homes. Im not trying to be confrontational but seriously it is very hard for me to sympathise with Israel. I sympathize with jews but Israel dose a very bad job of representing jews. Josh america would have more friends in the region if it actually practiced what it preached. How can we say we support democracy when all we do is prop up dictators in the ME and bring down evey democracy in sight. America wouldnt fear democracies in the middle east if it would stop supporting Israel it knows that a democracy would look legit to the world and if a democracy says yo we think israel is illegal their is no horrible dictator to blame. What you think arabs dont want peace or democracy come on this area has had some of the oldest civilizations ever they have seen this sort of thing come and go. If israel was a true friend why would their planes attack the Liberty huh.

You know that the media in American is owned and controlled by Jews, and this media is very pro-Israel. And when we control the media, we can always come up with Gallup poles that show us favorably. But is this the true story? How would people in the US vote for us if we did not have such a controlling influence? To thyself be true.
36. #33
Josh ,   vancouver Canada   (02.23.07)
US destroys every democracy in sight. I guess if you call Sadam Hussein a democracy. Heres the thing. The reason that you have your opinion is because you actually don't know your history. The land is not palestinian land. I don't even know if you know what a palestinian is. The oldest remaining people that inhabited the land is the Jews. They were there before Muslims were known to the world. Before Arabs were known to the world, And WAY the hell before Palestinians were known to the world. And if you are trying to make a case for Palestinians because they were kicked out of their land, its not even possible because it can't be compared to how Jews were kicked out of "THERE" land in exile by the Romans for example. If Jews were never hated they would have lived in the land known today as Israel forever. They didn't leave by choice, they left as exile. So by your logic, if you are saying because Palestinians lost their land they deserve it back, then really you should be arguing for Jews because they lost it first. Oh yeah, forgot to mention, even though we were exiled for much time, in recent history we actually legitimately bought back land that initially always ours. In other words, its not even owned by Palestinians (even though like i said, they never had a legitimate claim to it). What you need to read is a book by Alan Dershowitz (yes I know hes Jewish and pro Israel), but his book lays out facts. I think off the top of my head called "The case for Jews" or something like that. Then tell me how you feel. Im not a History expert, but I do know enough to know you are wrong to put it bluntly.

Josh ,   van canada   (02.23.07)
Sorry, actually, some of your history is correct, but I do feel that you look at this from too recent a perspective, thats my point. You have to look slightly deeper. Even though at the time "recent" Israel was created while there were more Palestians, you fail to understand how it all came to be this way, as well as some of the other things I mentioned in the previous post like the purchase of land. One other thing you could check because I know your soo into the recent history is the Oslo accords and how the Jews followed through with their side and how Palis failed to from their side. Also, remember, palestinians (God I hate the term) are arabs/muslims. Not even any of the other Muslim countries want to take them in.

I have stopped watching your "jew controlled" CNN because of their vehement anti Israel stance. Their bias is so prominent that it borders anti antisemitism. Let me tell you something, if Jews are controlling the media, they are doing a mighty poor job at promoting Israel.

DR ,   Florida, USA   (02.23.07)
if they are hated by Terror supporting nations. Don't you get this? Americans are smarter than you think. They kow a good thing and a bad thing when they see it. This was tru in world war2 and it is true today. As for you constant defence of the "poor palestinians", get real. They teach their kids to hate Jews. this is already known. Your logic as to why they blow up malls, buses and cafes is the dumbest I've heard yet. Violence never brings freedom, it only brings misery. The second they realize this, things will turn around for them.
48. #33, Ar and tumors...
DR ,   Florida, USA   (02.23.07)
Funny b/c countries like the US, UK, Israel, Germany, France etc. see extreme Islam as the world's biggest tumor, the cause of 99% of all violence and terror and the force behind evil regimes like Iran. See how different you can see the world when you are raised differentlly? Things with Israel are not so black and white my friend. Blaming them for all the problems in the middle east only shows your ignorant biased opinion. Doesn't help your cause at all. Sorry!!!

I believe we should send him as an un-official diplomat in some far far away province of China so that he can start buidling bridges there. Or maybe in Siberia... And please don't let him come back before the U.S. influence has totally declined and Brazil is the world superpower and "Eretz tropit yaffa" the UN anthem :-)

They definitely share the same values. Preach human rights and dignity and ignore them at every turn. I can't think of a single person I've ever met that was jealous of Israelis or Americans. To Israelis it's indifference at best, to Americans it's pity for how backwards your nation is while thinking it's progressive. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.
52. #51 was beat up by Israelis and Americans
DR ,   Florida, USA   (02.23.07)
in grade school. Why else would you be so anti? The US and Israel are the two leading countries in medical research, technology, and military advancement. This makes many countries a little green with envy. Canada makes beer, hockey and snow...woo hoo!!! As for human rights, how about the rights of all the israelis blown to bits by suicide bombers? Are you gonna sit there and tell me that this is legitimate resistance???
53. TO AR #33-YOU ARE A MUSLIM NOT AMERICANS.
AVRAHAM ,   JERUSALEM   (02.23.07)
AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE CLEVER PEOPLE THEY SEE YOU FOR WHAT YOU REALLY ARE - BLOOD THIRSTY PSYCHOS. WE ALL HAVE SEEN ON TV YOUR BEHIDING LIVE ON TV. HIDING BEHING WOMEN AND CHILDREN THEN CLAIM YOU CARE FOR THEM SO MUCH.YOU SHOW NO SYMPATHY FOR YOUR CAPTIVES AND YOU BURN PEOPLE IN AIRPLANES AND TRAINS. AND THE LIST IS ENDLESS. HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT MORALITY WHEN YOU LOVE DEATH SO MUCH. YOU CAN LOOK FOR SYMPATHY WITH LIE LOVING LIVING EUROPIENS BUT YOU ARE WESTING YOUR TIME WITH AMERICANS. PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN THE ONE THUE GOD SEE THE TRUTH EACH TIME. GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
54. Money and media is the game.
IVAN ,   Belgium   (02.23.07)
Well, maybe the answer is simple. The politicians and congress receives a lot of money coming from Israel for their re-election (Clinton, Obama, the neo-cons). Large lobby's offers gifts and travels to the happy who accept them for looking the other way. And the most importent is the media, don't forget the media in the USA is in the hands of a VERY FEW companies who present things as the major players want's you to see and hear them. For example, CNN gives different versions of the same newsfact in Europe and the USA. Don't forget "the first casuality of war is the truth".
55. DR and Josh and #15
AR ,   USA   (02.23.07)
Ignorance is bliss right. First of DR I was raised in America I see the world a true American I know what the rest of the world is like ive been to the gutters and lived in them you are blinded from the truth bye your own patriotism (if thats what we are calling fascist these days). And #15 im not arab sorry. Ok your WW2 point holds no water what so ever. The bushes (through american banks) funded Nazi Germany. Henry Ford was a huge anti semite. GM built Hitlers trucks. Americans had protest to keep us from warring with the nazi's the only reason we went to war with germany was because of pearl harbor and hitler declaring war on us (im not saying we wouldnt have declared war on germany after pearl harbor but history is history). Why was my point about the palestinians dumb? Please explain. Israel occupies palestine. Palestinian attacks Israel. What is so hard to understand. The occupation of palestine is the longest occupation in modern history. Your right violence dosnt bring freedom so why are we dropping 2 ton bombs on iraq. For freedom? Also your point about UK, US, Israel, Germany, France etc. holds no water. Times of Europe did a poll where they askes people from all over the world (Most european countries plus Israel, America, Canada, Mexico Argentina, Jordan and Egypt what the biggest threat to world peace is. Guess what America is a bigger threat than Russia and Iran. America and Israel are a bigger threat than Russia, China and Iran added up. So you see your 99% is rediculous. How many people do you know of who have been killed by islamic extremest and how many bye american and Israeli bombs. And you wonder why the world hates us. Please you know what DR from now on im not even gonna debate you until you start using some facts to back up your rhetoric. Really its ok that we disagree but you usually make things up and im just tired of justifying your talkbacks with a thought out answer.
56. Israel
AR ,   USA   (02.23.07)
By the way im not blaming the problems of the middleeast on Israel Im blaming Israel for occupying 3 different countries lands. Josh the United states put Saddam in power in the first place so the whole taking Saddam out is just the stupedist point ever. You say Israel was the land of the jews. If G@D gave Israel to the jews why didnt they stand and fight for it. I dont think the romans were more powerful than the IDF. The palestinians care enough about their land to fight for it. Thank you for your recomendation and to be completely honest i have heard of Alan Dirshowitz and I have heard him on the subject of Israel many times. To be honest i havent read any of his books but I promise you i will pick his up. I dont really think very favorably on him tho (him being jewish dosnt bother me at all you cant expect a christian or a muslim to right a book with that title not that they wouldnt but obviously a jew would be able to give a jews percpective) I recomend you read the books of Norman Finklestien He pretty much ownes all arguements that could be made for Israel. I dont think he is really anti Israel but he writes very good books on the subject. To answer #15 question the reason the Palestinians didnt take up the camp david deal was because it was rediculous. 1. Israel would control Palestinian Airspace, 2 Israel would control most of the Water on palestine, 3 Israel would control the borders, 4 Their would be settlements and roads that israel would keep that would cut up palestine like a jigsaw puzzle. These are not a demands any legit leader would allow to be impossed on his country. If Arafat had agreed to this deal he would have been killed the minute he went home. If the arab coutries were to take in the paletinians they would lose their claim to Palestine. Just like the jews did when they went left or were kicked out of Israel. Im sorry jewsih people i really am that history has treated you so badly but how can the children of such atrocities be so cruel to other i just dont understand all the jews i know are very smart spiritual people but once Israel is brought up they change (some) into something else that i dont recognize its very difficult for me to sympathize with a zionist

Great term for it!!!!! I hadn't heard that one. We need to spread the word. Much more accurate than Intafada. I wish we jews & Israelis were better at the PR game. Control the media - what a silly concept.
60. #33 AR - You're info is way off
sheri ,   rockville maryland   (02.23.07)
No wonder you have those views. Quote: "Sheri how can you say they were free. Come on first off all they had half their land taken from them then they were brutaly ethnically cleansed of their ancestorial lands. This is common facts no serious historian refutes this not even Israelis former foreign minister." Those are facts not accepted by historians anywhere except in Arab world. Integrate that they started a war, refused original offers to have just one PA state in the area if it included Jews, they left at the request of their Arab community and it changes the picture hugely. Other posters have added additional facts. While you might think from reading papers that Israelis hate Arabs, I would hope you'd have noticed that papers are a poor source of information. Go to Israel and you will find that what I said is very, very true. BYW, talkbacks have an overload of emotional and negative people of all views, so it's not an accurate reflection of anything. (I find myself cringing, and it's not at all what it's like talking to Israeli's directly myself. If posters on overall reflected Israeli sentiment I wouldn't be pleased.) Someone else already added the info on the lands being taken from them. Facts as researched are that the population was sparse before Jews moved into the area. Then Arabs repopulated for the better economics. And Jews purchased at very high prices the land that became theirs. While I feel for Pales who ran during a war and became refugees and a solution needs to them move on, it is far more complicated than saying they were forced out and ethnically cleansed and there is tremendous Arab responsiblity in the situation that you've views don't even address. There is a myth that the ME belongs to Arabs. The ME has a bunch of minorities, Coptics, Druze, Christains, Armenians, etc.. Jews were just the first minority to declare self-rule at a time when colonialism was ending. Jordan's occupation from '49 to '67 is from colonial remantes even though Jordan was created to end colonial rule by England, but Israel's acquistion from '67 to present is not part of the sequence of events. It's a new colonism? No, it's an excuse to critize Israel because it's a Jewish owner, not an Arab one. When they acquired in '67, they didn't kick anyone out of their homes and offered to return the lands in exchange for -- peace. The answer was the famous NO, NO, NO. Again, you bring in a few points, but you are off on a lot of the history, and the problem is much more complex and includes plenty of Arab responsiblity. Once you bring in some of that, we can talk about what's really important... Finding peace & a solution for everyone that takes all the pieces into account. Once Israel had a country she had a right to bring in whomever she wanted. And these people wanted to be Middle Easterners. There are so many Arab countries, that argument of Israel poper and immigration just sounds like the same "the ME is for Arabs" and "we can't live with anyone else anywhere near us". Another view is to see Israel as bringing good things like economic and moderaniztion to the region and to build bridges to take advantage of those. It might not be as emotionally satifiying as revenge, but Jews would say that moving forward has been better for us than if we insisted on fighting everyone else in the world for our past grievences forever more. I don't know if you'll take anything I say seriously and look into it. I hope so though, because I'd like to see bridges built leading to solutions and peace.
