7. @ #4
withheld ,   Copenhagen, Denmark   (02.25.07)
Yes anti Semitism is a big deal for Jews, much like racism is a big deal for black people. But if I attempt to fathom your logic, it is this: Jews are too sensitive about people calling them manipulative and deceiptful, and because Jews are so sensitive they are themselves the cause for anti Semitism?? I am sorry, but you've lost me completely, in this "chicken or the egg" type of enigma.
8. Thanks to Yohngsohk Choe. Anti-Semitism is a crime

Damir ,   Russia   (02.25.07)
They know little about Israel country, anti-semitism and, well, whole Europe. But as for going Christian, even Evangelic, they are first and foremost. Once I was surprised to meet a Korean preacher in the middle of Russia. Even swastika means less for them than the 'hino-maru'.
18. ## 9 Ron
Dr. Joji Cherian ,   Aluva   (02.25.07)
Korean American community frightened to the bonemarrow now. You know, for the obvious reassons.
19. clarification and possible solution
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (02.25.07)
At the turn of the 19th century, many mathematical, scientific, chemical, and technological advancements occurred in industrialized nations. The advancements gave rise to means of unprecedented population control and warfare. Industrialized nations that had an abundance of farmland i.e. America and Europe had sizable Jewish Populations. Jews that maintained their Semitic identity and coupled that with their Religious/theological difference made them an ethnic minority that was unfavored particularly in Europe. The Jewish tradition of rejecting violence and resisting aggression plus these technological advances created the situation of social tension that caused the consequence observed during the period of WWII. Although Arabs, Berbers, North Africans and other ethnic groups share a Semitic identity they weren’t at that time deemed the particular threat that Jews were and thus weren’t immediately targeted and so rapidly and systematically eliminated. Jews in Europe at that time preserved their identity and enjoyed a parallel advancement in education and technological expertise. As you know this fostered an irrational fear amongst the Nazi-German Regime and there client states around the Globe. Now times have changed and based on current events I fear that Muslims and particularly Arabs may face these same risks. There are Islamic sub-states rising in technological capability and that just enhances an already pervasive and irrational fear that exists in certain geographic areas. Although the well-recorded events of the Shoa will most likely stop a recurrence of the sort of systematic population management, previously mentioned. I am afraid that advances in weaponry and delivery means may lead to a reciprocal type of warfare that will have the same consequences and effect as the Shoa. Rapid mass attacks that exceed the ability to accurately forecast the levels of destruction may be what is emerging as the most serious threat; even the argument of preemption to avoid such a situation is becoming moot based on scientific, sociologic and political change. Webster’s dictionary; as one respondent so curtly put it, does define Antisemitism as a specific intolerance towards Jewish Hebrew speakers and since most Arab Muslims seem repulsed by being categorized alongside Jews, I have formulated another description and I term it “Near-Eastern cultural bias” The greatest challenge that lies ahead is creating a remedy for this term and mentality. I believe civilization emerged in the area we call the Near East or South-West Asia or the Semitic geographic belt or however else you describe it and that is where I would like to see it exist still. My personal opinion is that is where I would like to see the greatest extent of prosperity and peace; I am most comfortable with the culture there. I hope the solution lies in some form of compassionate social understanding and that solution may rest in religious understanding and scholarship that emphasizes our similarities rather than highlighting our differences.
20. Anti-Semitic cartoons spur LA Korean outrage
Habib Seliman ,   New York, USA   (02.25.07)
# 12, you are totally correct. Having spent considerable time in Korea and being familiar with the American Korean community, what is being preached in their evangelical churches has even been banned by the Catholic Church in the 1960's. On the other hand, when the government (S. Korean) sponsored programs to assist emigration from Korea to the US because of domestic over population concerns, advice was given to emigrants to live in or near Jewish populated areas (in the US) because Jewish people emphasizes education and "ancestor warship" meaning ancient Jewish culture. It is also interesting to note that in Korea in the early 1980's, the Koreans saw themselves in a parallel situation to Israel, being totally encircled by hostile enemies / potential enemies.
21. Self-evident Case of Anti-Semitism
edwin ,   Canada   (02.25.07)
As a non-Jew, I see this as a self-evident case of anti-Semitism. Those that deny the obvious simply display their own deep-seated prejudice. Jews are quite right to confront and expose this hateful propaganda wherever it reveals its ugly head, and it would be a colossal disservice to the children of Korea to allow this crap to be taught carte blanche. It seems logical that this perverse mind frame would have been imported by Christian missionaries. While they are purportedly friends of Israel and take every opportunity to bless Israel, they do hold the deep-seated preconception that, while being the chosen people, the Jews rejected the Christian god and will end up in eternal hell. Because this god is just, they conclude, the Jews must deserve their end. It is sort of like befriending someone on their way to the gallows.
22. Anti-Semitism...
D.C. ,   Budapest, Hungary   (02.25.07)
I'd like to know why you're labeling everything and everyone as Anti-Semite. But as I see, that's one of the reason why people are turning against you. You're labeling create your enemies and not reverse. This behavior causing the troubles for the people of the Jewish community.
23. No 22. Hungarian Antisemtic Post
Semsem ,   New York USA   (02.25.07)
No 22. Your post is antisemitic. Not surprising coming from Hungary that fought with Nazi Germany and murdered 400,000 Hungarian Jews.
24. #21 Edwin
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (02.25.07)
Well put sir, straight to the point. There is no ill-will or animosity however since I am not sure what the Christian Hell is but, I was always taught that those who know Torah their deeds are inscribed and subject to judgement and have a place in the World to Come if Hashem deems that. I think this need to expose this Antisemitism is fueled by fear of a recurrence of the Shoa. We are always compelled to act and to point it out in an effort to avert any future occurence. This sadly gets us trapped in the cycle you speak of. Anyway you said it so well the imperative need to educate against any bias in any form.
25. SO TELL US, #12, Eshkol Hakofer;
Zaphod ,   Pluto   (02.25.07)
Who exactly ARE those that DO have "reasons to be antisemitic (except for what they learned from their evangelical and the New Testament teachers) . . . " ????
26. # 23 You are wrong because
dd   (02.25.07)
the Hungarians murdered ,with their Nazi buddies, more than 600,000 Hungarian and Northern Transylvanian Jews. Most of them during the summer of 1944. But you are correct in "labelling" # 22 an anti-Semite, just to use one of his own words.
27. Nos.4,5 & 22
dd   (02.25.07)
Instead of supressing anti-Semitic or any anti-istic sickmindedness, Mr No Name #4 gets very upset with the Jews (how convenient for him) for not taking it calmly and with a bent head. Wake up Jew hater, it will never ever happen again BECAUSE of people like you. If you and YOUR people want to be humiliated, dragged through mud and then conveniently butchered it's your choice. I am telling it to you in no uncertain tone that people like YOU give me the necessary conviction and strength to fight you till doomsday. Anytime. No.5 Dr Chochi, in spite of your cheap cynicism, Rabbi Cooper will not have to teach the Koreans anything, rather, he will expose the stupidity of the writer of these anti-Semitic slurs (yes, ANTI-SEMITIC !!! ). Then, he will probably board a plane back home...or elsewhere. No. 22, the Hungarian guy, according to your very illuminated thinking, the Jews of the world should better accept further slurs, raw humiliations and even some neo-Nyilas stabbings to death, or else, they (the Jews, of course) might attract again and again lots of hatred and repression from the anti-Semites. And I thought younger Hungarians have already gotten rid of the Horthy and Szalasi syndrome ?!
28. #3, the term 'Semitic' is a fabrication
Jake   (02.25.07)
Jews did not historically use the term 'Semites' to describe themselves. It was a racist term invented by Jew-haters in Germany as a euphemism, and it had nothing to do with Arabs. Stop appropriating words and stealing other people's history.
29. Korean antisemites and Korean friends
Hilda ,   USA   (02.25.07)
Thank G-d there are some Koreans who will stand up for what is right unlike the so called moderate Muslims whoever they may be who refuse to stand up for anything.
30. cartoons
Chuck ,   USA   (02.26.07)
