1. Yet another great achievement of Olmert
ajax ,   TA, Israel   (02.26.07)
Good job, Olmert. Bringing French soldiers to protect our borders was a brilliant idea. What's next? Begging the UN to issue a strong worded last warning to Hizbullah?
2. who turned out the lights the UN peacekeeprs cant see
zionist forever   (02.26.07)
Hizbullah are better armed and better trained than the national Lebanese army unfortunatly these so called peace keepers dont want to get into any conflict so they will turn a blind eye. As long as these weapons are not yet being used in a war and they are pointed at Israel not the UN troops then better to keep a low profile and pretend there is nothing going on while they will stop the occasional truck full of rifles and pretend that they aree responsible for keeping the peace. I notice the UN seems to hae conveniently forgoton that they passed resolutions forcing hizbullah to be disarmed. The UN are a complete waste of time the rel solution here is for the French army to take over andd replace the UN with an army with teeth that will stop the creation of these mini states within a state and disarm the terrorists. Stop leaving it all to the USA or Israeal to go it alone and then condeming without offering any alternative solution or offer to help. Tim for the Euopenas to have the guts to do something by themselves for once.
3. Is Anyone Besides Olmert-Peretz-Livni-Peres Surprised???????
David ,   Jerusalem   (02.26.07)

malcolm   (02.26.07)
She surrendered to Hizbollah and now Israel will pay a heavy price for her traitorous act.

8. A Burglar should be punished
Khalil ,   Palestine   (02.26.07)
By all means Baba Nasrallah, comtinue what started. Cousin Israel is the burglar, they haven't left anything in Palestine for us!
9. Khalil, Israel
Josef ,   Finland   (02.26.07)
Never occurred to you, there is Israel? Never occurred to you, "Palestine" and "Palestinians" exist only between " " because there is no such history. There is the Arab League fiction from 1964 which is called the PLO.
10. What a surprise
Esther ,   Ofarim, Israel   (02.26.07)
And here I thought Peretz had taught Hezbolla a lesson. NOT!
11. Peretz and his "binoculars"
Poitcha ,   Kfar Saba, Israel   (02.26.07)
Well of course Nasrallah and the Hizballah are readying themselves for war.....everyone knows that.....OOPS...except for Peretz...because when he looks through a set of binoculars he forgets to take off the damn covers!!!
12. To Khalil Israel
Ali ,   Southampton   (02.26.07)
" because there is no such history" We will make that history one day. As long as people like you still have such a mentality.
13. Josef, Finland
Ali ,   Southampton   (02.26.07)
" because there is no such history" We wil make that history one day. Why are u still in FInland then?
14. Hizballah buys Chrisitan land
Nora ,   Tel Aviv   (02.26.07)
Walid Jumblatt has nightmares and no one is ready to help him. Hizballah Land is enlarging north of the Litani at the expense of the Christianans, while readying for another encounter with Israel. Next step ? More and Christians leaving Lebanon and selling their land to the Hizballah.
15. # 13 Ali, Southampton
Josef ,   Finland   (02.26.07)
No, you won't make any history. Your question applies to you, resident of Southampton. Read your Quran, sura 5:19-22 and see, even your book tells you that Israel belongs to the Israelis.
16. Israel really means "Children of Israel(Jacob)", not ...
Jeff   (02.26.07)
the land. Children of Israel have migrated, converted and mingled with people around the world. A lot of them are Christians and Muslims. The state "Israel" is a recent Zionst innovation. BTW, did you know that Muslims have lived in this area for more duration than any other religion.
17. This is what I always said.........
Ali ,   Lebanon   (02.26.07)
I continuously assured that Hezbollah were not affected by the war and this is what the article says. I don't think there will be a next round soon because all the eyes are now in Iran and Iraq. As Sayed Nasrallah told us since 1990, " as I promised you for the victory before, I promise you of victory again" I tell you again and again, stop fooling around my towns or will have to kick shoot ur IDF heroes in their backs again.
18. To Joseph) DUDE, There is nothing called sora 5
Ali ,   Lebanon   (02.26.07)
First it is called Sorit al Maeda. It seems that you have some problems reading the quran...Well maybe because it is in arabic or u have some issues reading the translation.
19. Seems Nasrallah wants it...so...
A   (02.26.07)
I say give it to him, but for real this time. Not the pansy plan the Olmert gang came up with. A real hard hitting, true IDF rock-your-socks strategy. By the way, can we please have new elections now? I have written it before, the only unity government Olmert is interested in is with HAMAS and Hezbollah because then the EU and socialists around the world will come around to kiss his tuchas. New elections NOW. We need strong leaders that will rain hell down on r'tards like nasrallah. By the way, signed up for MAHAL. Yes, I am volunteering. I wont let Israel down.
20. hizbullah are like angry dogs
ana maria ,   Latin America   (02.26.07)
maybe they need a doses of Israeli weapons to understand that with their mentality they wont go anywhere. Instead in working on constructing their country they prefer to invest their money and effort in a war, could a nation be more stupid???
21. to #16, what about the christians of nazareth?
(02.26.07)
22. "The state of Hizbullah"
Johnson ,   USA   (02.26.07)
Sounds like next time there will be more combatants, and less inocents in the area. Talk about a free fire turkey shoot, or should I say target rich enviroment.
23. #16; To Jeff please get your facts straight
Mark ,   Georgia, USA   (02.26.07)
Jewish people have had a continuous presence on the land for 3200 years!!! I don't know where you get your info from but it is wrong my friend. Do more reseach unless " you can't handle the Truth " . Israel both biblical and modern are the only two countries that have existed on that land. As far as the Arabs our concerned Syria, Lebonon, Israel, West Bank and Jordan were simply a greater Syria. This is confirmed by Pof. Phil Hitti from Princeton U. in his testimony at the UN in 1946 against Israel and in his 1939 book on the ME. In addition Emir Faisal in his letter to Harvard law Prof. Felix Frankfurter on March 3, 1919 and future Supreme Court Justice states the same idea regarding a greater Syria. While Jerusalem is mentioned many times in the Torah, laws of the Talmud, the Jewish calendar and is a major tenet of Judaism. " return to Zion " is a centuries-old idea. Not a "recent Zionist innovation " as you claim. " Children of Israel have migrated, converted and mingled with people around the world ". In fact " migrated " murdered and forced out ( expelled ) of many countries. They didn't take a vacation and decide the weather was nicer and move voluntarily. They " converted " so they wouldn't be persecuted or murdered simply because they were Jewish. "They mingled with people around the world". So what? What would you do when expelled from a country and forced to move, Not mingle with the new people you meet? In closing I am impressed with how errors and distortions you made in such a short talkback. Have a great day Mark from Georgia
24. Hezbollah&AlJazeera are desperate to host a grand Qana event
KMR ,   Middle East   (02.26.07)
25. in effect Unifil is further hostages in the hands of Hizbul
Pazitya   (02.26.07)
Instead of viewing their Unifil forces on the ground as forces to impose resulotion 1701, the governments who sent them their view them as hostages in the hands of Hizbullah. They withhold any act against Hizbullah's violation of 1701 thinking it might give Hizbullah excuse to harm their troops on the ground. In efect instead of two Israeli hostages in the hands of Hizbullah (who were also supposed to be returned under res. 1701) Hizbulla has French, Italian and other troops looked upon as hostges in every way by their governments. Therefore, Instead of acting against it, it makes sure they can maintain their power and endanger Lebanese democracy and Israeli people.
26. Proving once again
reality Check ,   BaGolan   (02.26.07)
That Olmert, Peretz, Jimmy Carter, and the UN are totally irrelevant
27. To ana maria) Your nation is the only stupid one
Ali ,   Lebanon   (02.26.07)
because your are ignorant and just look at things from one side.....I am from south Lebanon. My house was destroyed by the IDF cowards although I am not a hezbollah memeber nor any of my family. It was not destroyed during the goround battles. It was shot twice by ur IDF planes. Anywyas, just fyi Hezbollah from the first day after cease of fire, paid for all people and are continuing to pay. Hezbollah has a alot of social centers and servies much more than the LEbanese government does. Don't worry, they have alot of money to construct and so on but to live in this new buliding we need security and we need our lives. Hezbollah is the only protector for us and will always be until the Lebanese army is properly armed.
28. To Pazitya - #25:better recheck your facts
Reality Check ,   BaGolan   (02.26.07)
The UNIFIL troops are NOT hostages to Hezbullah, but rather willing supporters at the extreme, and facilitators at the minimum. Since the inception of UNIFIL, the UN 'troops' have run interference for the terrorists at every turn, doing whatever they can to minimize Israel's attempts to neutralize the enemy. It is not any different now: Hezbullah rearms, with the UNIFIL protecting their roads; UNIFIL, under frog command, threatens to shoot down IAF craft seeking to ensure that the terrorists OBEY the UN resolution that UNIFIL is allegedly here to enforce. Hostages? Not in any sense of the word. Anti-Semitic belligerants is a more likely term.
29. More propaganda to justify Israeli massacres.
Sheila Rubinstein ,   Studio City, CA   (02.26.07)
Hezbollah, in my opinion, have a right to secure themselves against Israeli aggression, especially in light of Israel's recent massacre of 1,000 Lebanese people during the summer. What drives the Israelis to commit such crimes? What is the need? Is it vengeance? I think this subject ought to be examined further.
30. UN RESOLUTION 1701 BETRAYED Israel, LEBANON & Free World
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (02.26.07)
During the second Lebanon war under intense U.S. pressure, Israel's weak leaders to the horror of the Free World's people, agreed to UN resolution 1701 that prevented the goal vital to Israel's security - eliminating the rocket threat from Lebanon. UN Resolution 1701 successfully prevented Israel from defeating Iran's terrorist army Hezbollah thus aiding and empowering Hezbollah who now threaten to take over Lebanon.
