I was glad to read tonight that Brandeis, after rolling out the red carpet for Daniel Pipes, has finally relented & scheduled Norman Finkelstein as well. I am not a supporter of everything Finkelstein writes. But if a hardline ideologue like Pipes can be offered a presidential welcome at Brandeis then the least they could do is offer Finkelstein the opportunity to speak as well. To do less would risk the openness to ideas of all stripes that Brandeis rightly cherishes.
