1. Its a Mitzvah, have as many children as you can love
David ,   Boston, USA   (02.27.07)
I truly believe that most Jews can afford to love at least 3 children. I will let you know, my third is due in July. Forget money. Its a question of time and attention.
2. Heartwarming
Shalom   (02.27.07)
If the majority of the country wants traditional values, why are we being led by a bunch of Jewishly-ignorant, corrupt boors? Why aren't children in schools learning Jewish values instead of how to protect themselves from the class bully? Why are they sexually aware before they are sexually able? I look at these results and see hope for the future - if we get our act together.

Like your positive reactions! It's also very cool that your wife is a convert! Beezrat HaShem I will convert to Judaism aswell. Nice your'e getting your third one in July! Baruch HaShem!
4. Number of kids
JOhn ,   Amsterdam, Holland   (02.27.07)
I would like to have 4 - 6 kids. I carry my non-Jewish familyname and Beezrat HaShem "it will be Jewish". I agree with David btw, that a lot of Jews can afford more than 2 or 3 kids in the US. We need it aswell! I thought the Jewish Israeli birthrate was higher than 2.2, more like 2.6?
5. Wow.. talk about a lack of diversity in that pic!
(02.27.07)
What is this, 1940s USA?! Little Johnny and Mary and Suzie with a white picket fence, 2 cars and dog?

You cynical leftist, So do you want a racial mixed gay family...you twit!!!
7. #3, John. Children are a blessing.
David ,   Boston, USA   (02.27.07)
I love my kids. They arent easy but not much worthwhile is. I hope your conversion process goes well. My wife converted while we were dating. I was the catalyst for her. I did not encourage her too much because it had to be something she really wanted to do. Now she is in Bat Mitzvah class. We honor Shabbat. I love being Jewish and could not imagine being anything else. Judaism gives us guidelines and rules, but it also makes us question things. I never understood Christianity philosophy of do this or that or you will go to Hell. In Judaism its about trying to do the right thing because its the right thing to do, not because you will go to hell and Tikkun Olam. Make the world a better place. I wish you well with your conversion. I am conservative by the way, but my wife underwent an orthodox (Halacha) conversion. I encourage all to look into converting to Judaism. If you dont, thats fine. Just try to do the right things in life.

I am a happy Jew, but your words disgusted me. Christianity does not preach that if you do this and that, you will go to hell. The essense of Christianity is in the spirit and in faith, not in acts. So learn before you criticize others... How would you call a Christian saying similar things about Judaism? An antisemite?
9. Arabs have larger family size, and more respect to parents
(02.28.07)
10. Yes, John, convert to Judaism, and come take the place of
(02.28.07)
one Palestinian!
11. # 1 and #3

You two sound like very nice people and it's refreshing to read positive, friendly talkbacks. Good luck to all your endeavors.
12. To #6
USA / Israel   (02.28.07)
No, I am not a "cynical leftist" or a "twit." Being that this article is about Israel and Jews, I was thinking more along the lines of "kibbutz galuyot" (ingathering of the exiles). I said nothing about wanting a "gay family." And yes, if it's in terms of kibbutz galuyot, then I'm 100% for "racially mixed" families, although, that is not my term of choice because we are all Jews. So please: next time think before you write.
13. To David, Boston.
Curious ,   USA   (02.28.07)
What was your wife before converting?
14. Large Familes are a real BRACHA!

15. "come take the place of one Palestinian"?!
Marwan ,   Amman, Jordan   (02.28.07)
Glad to see you have the guts to admit how Israel was established over the gradual genocide of Palestinians! :)
16. Large families
Roxy ,   Israel   (02.28.07)
Large families are all well and good if you can afford to support them financially without depending on the government for support. Love is wonderful but you need the money to buy the food to feed the children, buy the textbooks for school, pay for the Kupat Holim membership. So yes if you can afford 3 or more kids without asking for a hand out from the government and can afford to pay for a college education for all of them then my hats off to you, but I am more realistic I think, 2 kids is great too, I can afford to give them the best of everything without counting on anybody else to help support them!
