92. Sacrifices and Jesus
mike ,   Canada   (03.02.07)
I wonder why animal sacrifices ended the same time Jesus was crucified.
93. Temple rebuilt PRIOR TO the arrival of the Messiach!
Christopher ,   Philadelphia, USA   (03.02.07)
Nice try, but wrong, Miriam! The Temple will be rebuilt PRIOR TO the arrival of the Messiach. The animal sacrifices will continue for 3 and a half years before the Antichrist stops them and sets up the "abomination of desolation". Following this, the saints will battle with him and lose. THEN the Messiach will arrive and touch His foot to the temple mount, splitting it in two.
94. Thus saith the Lord
Rich ,   Ohio, USA   (03.02.07)
To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. (Isaiah 1:11-20)

Actually the temple will be built after the events in ZECHARIAH where it says"I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone to al the nations...i will open my eyes on the house of Judah..." There will be a miracle war then the rebuilding of the temple then Gog & Magog.
96. God never changes
Re: #72 modern Jews ,   Tampa, USA   (03.02.07)
All thru the Bible we see that the Jews did change with society and did not worship the way God wanted them to until he punished them...then the righteous Kings would stop all the wrong worship and all would again begin to worship the way God wanted. People change; God doesn't. He will not become like us and accept our ways of doing things; it is us that will change to do His will. One would think people would get that if you don't learn from history you are forced to repeat it. But we know the end anyway...most will ignore God and have to deal with the consequences. In the end, He will get His way.
97. umm, uhh
DW ,   Weatherford, TX   (03.02.07)
It would not matter if they rebuilt the temple of if the Sanhedrin re-institutes temple sacrifice, because it will be in vain. There is One mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, who was made sin for His people, and took upon Himself the wrath of God so that we do not have to pay it ourselves.

God desires obedience not sacrifice, only Jesus Christ is sufficient as our Savior - He is the sacrifice that God the Father has accepted on our behalf!
101. I cant wait!
Ruchamah ,   USA   (03.03.07)
This is not the rabbi's idea: This is Torah. This is what the Most High WANTS. The purpose of a sacrifice is to draw you close to HaShem. It elevates the animal as well. There is no higher purpose for an animal than to be used to draw man close to G-d. Take the time to read the Torah..and to try to understand it before making statements that are totally out of line with what the Torah teaches. There WILL be an altar, there WILL be sacrifices, and they WILL be stopped.' So, start saving up your shekels so that you can participate in the greatest event in history: the rebuilding of the Temple.
102. WORLDWIDE Street PROTESTS Needed to STOP ISLAM'S DESTRUCTION
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (03.03.07)
RETURN CONTROL of the TEMPLE MOUNT to JEWS NOW! World-wide street protests are urgently needed to stop Islam's vandalism and archaeological destruction of Judaism's holiest site, the Temple Mount - the holiest place on earth: http://www.har-habayt.org/
103. Reply to Rabbi Doniel Hartman's quote
bob elliott ,   waco, USA   (03.04.07)
Stein outlined his plan for Israel, calling for a king to be appointed democratically. "Democracy was not invented today, the king is elected from a list of candidates. A senior judge, as was done during the days of the judges, can also be appointed," he added. 2000 Christians did not practice animal sacrifice nor have they ever. Also there were no muslims 2000 years ago. Thanks

Messiah has come.No need for further sacrafice.
105. the point of the sacrifices....
Yochana ,   virginia   (03.07.07)
was to show how our transgression of the law required an ugly, violent remedy. the sacrifices did not atone for any transgression of law. remember in the tehillim of david where he speaks of meaningless sacrifices? it always has been and continues to be about the heart of the person....the individual relationship with HaShem and our desire to make things right with Him.
106. The spotless lamb
ruach34 ,   little rock   (03.07.07)
'Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when You shall make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand...for he shall bear their iniquities...and made intercession for the transgressors.' there is no other way to be saved...
107. Hartman opinion
meir ,   Jerusalem   (03.08.07)
Hartman institute is staying ideologicly in the limit between conservatives an orthodoxes streams. There is no ned to have a Temle in order to sacrifi the Passover. There ai need to have at the exact place an alter which it width should be at least 1 AMA=(48c"m)
108. MUST READ THE TRUTH
Kevin ,   HOUSTON   (03.09.07)
Millions of animals are slaughtered each day across the world in assembly line factories, far from the eyes of the tens of millions of people blithely consuming their flesh each day, yet the world, by and large, is silent. Apparently, the mass destruction of animal life for the purpose of physical gratification is quite acceptable, as long as it's done out of sight, out of mind. The Pascal lambs were slaughtered one at a time, by the Temple priests, in the light of day, while the entire nation of Israel was watching. Each lamb was slaughtered in the name of the mitzvah - commandment - attaching lofty spiritual import to the act. The slaughtering was performed in a strictly proscribed manner designed to minimize any pain caused to the animal. The slaughtering was done in shifts, within the confines of the Temple Courtyard. Between shifts, the priests completely washed down the Courtyard, maintaining the cleanliness and the dignity appropriate to the Holy Temple. The animal in its entirety was to be eaten. Each lamb was designated to be eaten by predetermined groups. The groups were based on family units. The poor, or people without families, were assigned by the elders to the predetermined groups. No one was allowed to be absent from the Passover meal, on what has come to be known as the Seder night. No one was allowed to go hungry.
109. Animal Sacrifices
Robert W. Morse ,   South Yarmouth USA   (03.20.07)
It is not by accident that animal sacrifices ended 2000 years ago. The death and resurection of The Lord Jesus Christ atoned for mankinds sin once and for all.
110. Mercy, not sacrifice
Doug ,   Perth, Australia   (03.31.07)
Why is it so hard to see? The Law is good, in that it shows us our sin. Indeed the law has never been at fault. Sacrifice is good, in that it takes away our record of sin. But can ritual ever change the heart of man?Indeed it is man, not the law, who is at fault. Did thousands of years of sacrifice ever change the mistakes the Isrealites made in breaking the laws of God? When will Israel learn, that the Lord desires Mercy, not sacrifice. Obedience, not empty ritual. For if men had been obedient, would there be need for these sacrificial slaughters? Man does indeed need a sacrifice for the remission of sins, but also for which the law cannot give. A new Heart. Only when Israel recognises Messiah, and that his sacrifice is both for the cleansing of sin AND the renewal of the heart, will we know rest. Accept the ultimate sacrifice, and change your hearts. Let God write his law upon your hearts, not upon stone. Acknowledge Yeshua HaMeshiach, the saviour. And let his return be soon. God bless Israel.
111. #101 Return into Exile!
CC ,   USA   (05.03.07)
After 2000 years of exile this is all you can put, you have learned nothing ! You will build the 3rd temple and if you do literally as you say is mentioned in Torah the events of the past will repeat itself. If the Mixed Multitude who calls itself Jews hadn't challenged the power structures of the Cohanim and the Levitnim they would not have had to throw in the towel and you would not have the Rabbinical Takeover telling what Torah says or not says. So go about your biz and time will indeed repeat history, You never learn. An Ass doesn't even hit itself on the same stone! If the temple has to be rebuild for Animal sacrifice then it is better it is not rebuild. If Torah hasn't thought you more than claiming to know what you know not you haven't learned anything. This is outright disgusting especially in a world where animals are being used, abused, tortured, destroyed in the most horrendous manner! Shame on you, for you have lost your humanity.
112. Muslims still sacrifice
Ben Plonie ,   Galus,Chutz la'Aretz   (05.03.07)
However, such practices ended 2000 years ago, Rabbi Doniel Hartman was quoted by the Associated Press as saying. This is wrong. At the end of Ramadan every year in Mecca there are sacrifices after they 'stone the devil' at Mount Arafat (I am not making this up)
113. Animal Sacrifices in the restored Temple
Daniel Christie ,   USA   (05.03.07)
this is interesting.because it is clear from scripture that there will be a temple once again on the temple mount, It is also interesting that the Dome of the Rock isn't on the exact site of the previous two temples. Prophecies in Daniel and Revelation also show that there will be animal sacrifices in this temple and puts it in the period of time known to Christians, as 'The Tribulation' and to the Jews as 'Jacob's Trouble' .This time period may be close at hand!
114. Isaiah 66: 3-4
Tom M. ,   usa   (05.04.07)
Isaiah prophesied in reference to the to-be rebuilt temple..... 3 He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine's blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. 4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not.

Michael ,   Australia   (05.05.07)
The Antichrist will sit in the temple, stop the sacrifices, then claim to be god.
117. no more sacrifices
(05.07.07)
animal sacrifices ended 2000 years ago because the final sacrificial lamb was offered and His name is Jesus. As far as the temple being built, it will not be the messiah seated in it but the "abomination of desolation" that is, the anti-christ. let him who has ears, hear.
118. Isaiah 66 feedback
wayne ,   Bradenton   (06.22.07)
Isaiah 65: 17, 18, & 19 Behold , I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered nor will they come into mind. But be glad and rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight and its people a joy. I will rejoice over Jerusalem and take delight over my people; the sound of weeping and of crying will be heard in it no more.

120. Abraham to Atonement
Ruth ,   US   (08.21.07)
Study the story of Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac, as God's first lesson in obedience to Him. God stopped the sacrifice because He only was testing Abraham's love towards Him. In Gen 22:8 Abraham said: 'God will provide Himself the lamb and in verse 18 and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast hearkened to My voice.' The binding of Isaac is the archetype for all sacred service in the Temple from thence forward: SO ALL TEMPLE SERVICE WAS INSTITUTED TO HONOR GOD'S PROMISE OF PROVIDING HIS OWN LAMB AS ATONEMENT FOR MANKIND, AS WELL AS BLESSING THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH THROUGH ABRAHAM'S OBEDIENCE. The fulfillment was written in John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should have everlasting life." The Lamb of God was sacrificed for the sins of the world, the veil of the Temple was rent, and no longer did the cloth on the animals turn white. Daniel says it best in Chp 9: Dan 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself...
