1. The troublesome Gaza-strip
Y ,   N   (03.01.07)
I think the best way to deal with the Gaza problem is to totally isolate it from Israel. This means that Israel should cut all its connections with the area. That means everything from water and power to sealing the borders with Israel. But i think that Israel at the same time should give up the controll of the air and sea territories belonging to Gaza to the palis. Let them also have full controll of the border with Egypt. Along the border Israel shoul set up heavy defences and blow away any pali who dares to attack. It shouldnt be to difficult for the Israeli air force to bomb the whole strip if it comes to war with the terror groups. If Israel chooses this strategy nobody can blame it for the misery in the pali areas and it could without any moral objections defend itself if the palis decides to attack.
2. will Bush's phony peace succeed in destroying Israel
Marcel ,   Florida   (03.01.07)
Thats the game plan the average Jew has been slow to get a hold of. Not by war ,but by peace many in Israel have died and will die. Israel should have long ago defeated this growing threat ,instead ,because of the phony peace scam ,Israel talks itself to death for no peace ,but lies.
3. Wish info like this would make headlines in int. media
(03.01.07)
But that will disrupt their anti-Jewish sentiments and portrayal.
4. Sleepy leftists, this is EXACTLY what a Hudna is.
Kissel   (03.01.07)
Get the stronger opponet to back off. Then slowly re-arm, prefered 7 years, then reume attacks in the form a very large scale initial attack designed to overwhelm and confuse the enemy(Israel). This is right on line with their book the Qauran. Disingagement of Gaza was the worst idea ever conceived for a peaceful solution.
5. Disengagement-The gift that keeps on giving
Kissel   (03.01.07)
6. realy?
TOMAS ,   BSAS,ARGENTINA   (03.01.07)
REally? That is not news! We all know that. long live israel
7. #1 your idea is illegal, gaza under occupation
abu ali maheina   (03.01.07)
while gaza is still under occupation you must provide food and shelter and medicine. Geneva convention says you must to do this. starving the people of gaza is no way to fix the problem.
8. I agree with #1
Adam ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.01.07)
9. Hey Olmert Rice and Bush Asked for it
Sam WEinstein ,   USA   (03.01.07)
Hey Olmert Peretz, Livni, Peres Rice and Bush Asked for it so don't complain. Fire Olmert and the gang and put a real strong goverment in power
10. Common Sense
Alex ,   Toronto,Canada   (03.01.07)
I am not Israeli and I could see this happening as anybody else with a common sense would. Americans has never been able to understand the world outside of North America (that's just the way they are arrogant, ignorant and self-absorbed), Europeans do understand what's going on but don't give a damn about Israel. They will not risk their comforable lives to save Jews. And Israeli government (the two of the three stooges left) just stick their heads in the sand and get their asses kicked. Israel has nobody to blame but herself.
11. To no 7
Y ,   N   (03.01.07)
If Israel makes the moves i describe Gaza will no longer be occupied as you proclaim, and then Israel has no obligations toward the palis living there. Thats my point. Israel should just complete their withdrawal and get it accepted by the international society, and then Israel can say bye bye to the palis and leave them to thier fate.
12. Stop This Two State Solution
Dave Levy ,   Burbank. USA   (03.01.07)
It's all Condis fault, this entire Rafah fiasco. Nothing is going to stop the Arabs from their march to destroy Israel. They have the time, the patience, the resources and worldwide support. The US is fouling up all over the M.E. and the Arab-Muslim world sees it. We (US) are now talking to Iran and Syria about Iraq. This will morph into the Israeli-Palestinian problem, with Muslim demands on the Jewish state to go back to the 67 borders, return the Golan and allow 5m Arabs into Israel proper. Where is Israel getting proof of the smuggling, and why didn't they complain bofore, I ask? Now, the EU has an excuse. Israel has 2 choices, both bad. Isolate the Strip, or go back into it, not with settlements, but army garrisons. Each is fraught with problems. As far as another Arab state, forget it for the foreseeable future. Israel should use this as leverage, instead of it's wishful Livni type thinking. To Israel: they want you destroyed, get that into your collective heads.
13. Dont U know! EU WANTS them to train for Terrorism anywhere
Alan ,   SA   (03.01.07)

Roni   (03.01.07)
16. We'll Be At War Within A Year.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.01.07)
At the rate things are going, we will have a full offensive into Gaza within a year. Even the idiots in our gov't. won't be able to hide behind delusional "peace initiatives" any longer. We were suckered into losing control of the Rafah crossing & this is the result. Who in their right mind would trust the Europeans to do a good job? We will not have peace until we eliminate both Hamas & Fatah. Gaza must be disarmed completely.
17. does it matter
Gil ,   Maastricht   (03.02.07)
the idf will still kick their asses-as always- with a deathcount of 5 against 400

19. whats the Big deal?? IDF trains in the US
papa jay   (03.02.07)
same damn thing, different side of the coin. 1 conflict, 2 sides to it. each side supported by two different countries that dont see eye to eye. Israel is a pet of the US Hamas is a pet of Iran. this is not news!

21. Strip search Gaza Strip
john ,   nz   (03.02.07)
22. What A Surprise. Not.
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (03.02.07)
Israel's leaders are responsible for allowing Rice to twist their arms and to broker the 'Rafah Accords'. They ALL knew that this was be an unprecedented security disaster, yet they did nothing. Crying now over spilled milk is fruitless. The only thing to be be done is to retake the Philadelphia corridor. I suspect they won't. They will just threaten, threaten and threaten...
23. I don't understand what Israel wants from the EU
David L.   (03.02.07)
Israel is always overseeing the Rafah crossing, and can order its closure at any time, or prevent the passage of whoever they want. So if they know that Hamas members are going though, why don't they stop them? By the way, what law exactly prevents Hamas member form travelling in Arab countries and train in Iran and Syria? Anyone can do so if they wish.
24. Papa Jay
Yaron   (03.02.07)
Why don't you declare your Islamo facist love on the Palestinian, Iranian, and Syrian news sites...or better yet, move there. You must be smoking some good grass if you believe there is moral equivalence to the two sides of the coin. Start practicing your Arabic and bowing dhimi!
25. take back final control of the crossing.end
jon ,   au   (03.02.07)
26. Hamas trainees...........
Benezra ,   Ashdod-Israel   (03.02.07)
