31. #11, Jake (Rudy)
Steve   (03.03.07)
I also like Rudy and I am a Republican but I doubt I will vote for another Republican at the national level, so long as we continue to have establishing a Palestinian terror state in the Holy Land and the ethnic cleansing of Jews from Israel in our national party platform. I'd rather vote for a leftist 'cut and run' Democrat than a despicable hypocrite in Republican robes.

How soon you forget! Ask yourself this question: The next time a crazy dictator puts a USD $25,000 bounty on the head of every Israeli Jew, who do u want to be the US Prezident??
33. How do you know when a politician is lying?

His lips are moving.
34. He just lost my vote
Ted johnson ,   colrain ma   (03.03.07)
Israel has the Bomb, the US has the bomb, Iran has just as much right as any other country to it. Israel is an occupying force, the US is an occupying force, Iran is not. Who has the high ground here ?
35. Since we believe in Rudi Giuliani why should trust you?
e.m ,   s.f   (03.03.07)
Only Rudi Giuliani he is the greatest supports of Jewish state the rest are fillip flaps
36. Blah, Blah, Blah...just to get Jewish votes!
MD ,   USA   (03.03.07)
Barack Hussein Obama is NO friend of Israel. What he's talking is just to get the Jewish votes. Let's here what he says when he goes to a Muslim group.
37. bunch of....
Casey ,   germany   (03.03.07)
WOW!!! here most people are so excited that he will support Israel...why don't you people help yourselves instead of relying on the others. people ...don't get so excited you will be gone soon......no matter whom you rely on or get weapons from....
38. Politics to fit the moment
Brod ,   USA   (03.03.07)
Politics is always fluid to fit the moment. Politicians who advocate talking with the wolves--Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia are softies who do not know anything about the nature and threat that Islamist-Jihadism poses to all non-Islamist countries. Politicians who advocate quitting Iraq because the going is tough will not be able to handle situations when the going is more tougher. I would be wary with politicians who offer simplistic solutions to complex problems. My advice for Obama is be knowledgeable on the Middle East and the nature and threats of Islamist-Jihadism by reading powerful books on the subject written by brilliant scholars such as: Mark A. Gabriel PhD, Gregory M. Davis PhD, Daniel Pipes PhD, Dore Gold PhD, Rachel Ehrenfeld PhD, Robert Spencer, Steven Emerson, Gerald Posner, Brigitte Gabriel, Oriana Fallaci, Walid Shoebat, Ibn Warraq, Kenneth R. Timmerman, and Robert Baer.
39. Obama's schedule
Persian CAT   (03.03.07)
6:30am - Wake up 7:30am - Eat breakfast 8:30am - Meet the "kidnapped soldier's" parents 9:30am - Tell AIPAC want they want to hear and collect Jewish contributions. 10:00am - Say "all options are on the table" Rest of the day - Laugh out loud.
40. BottomLine:: Obama will lose in primary vote !!
KMR ,   Middle East   (03.03.07)
41. obama- good leader?
tom ,   israel   (03.03.07)
Honestly, I don't know enough about the political system in usa, but if he sincere, I am glad, because he understand very well that we can't trust anyone except ourselves. I wish in the next elections we will have better leaders, meanwhile we have only clowns. what a disgrace!!!
42. Obama is not anti-Israel
M. Martin ,   NYC/Tel-Aviv   (03.03.07)
"Israel and the United States do not have the luxury to ignore the exhortations of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and “no option, including military action, (should be taken) off the table” in the effort to stop Iran's nuclear armament. " - Obama Democrat does NOT equal sniveling Arab-loving Eurabian leftist. ANyone who says this is brainwashed themselves. Not only that, truth be told, PERHAPS THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO BE MORE PRO-ISRAEL !!! True politicians cannot be taken at theirt word, but then THIS ALSO GOES FOR REPUBLICANS. This same Republican government, for instance, wagged its fingers at Israel for targeted killings (especially after Sheikh Ahmed Yassin was killed), then went ahead and used these same tactics in Iraq. ANyway, for what I know of his record, Barak Obama is NOT anti-Israel. He is not Avigdor Lieberman but he does not need to be, because a strong Israel needs a government that really pursues the interests of the State of Israel as a Jewish State more than it needs allies in Washington. Lastly, Americans elect Presidents NOT for foreign countries but for THEMSELVES. If you are not an American citizen, your opinion is worthless on this point because you do NOT have to live with the consequences of an American election.
43. #37 Casey, spoken like a true Nazi !(End)

44. to #42
Lyn ,   USA   (03.03.07)
Hi Martin, and thanks for your comments. I don't consider myself democrat or republican really because both sides support issues important to me and both sides support things I disagree with. I just wish, and especially in the times we live in, that the next President will have a good heart yet also guts to make hard decisions, you know, doing the right thing even when it's not popular. I am very disillusioned with our Congress and all the special interest groups and the media that seem to keep us divided as a nation. I actually think President Bush has tried to do what is right towards Israel some of the time but our state dept. and all these other people with an agenda have hounded him for his whole presidency...ie..supporting giving away Gaza and now look...kassams every single day into Israel and terrorists digging tunnels, constantly scheming which Jew, Christian or other infidel they are going to kill next. I am getting off track and forgive me because I am younger and still have alot to learn about politics but I want my vote to count and I want a President that will support our allies firmly with no flip-flopping and being double-minded. The stakes are too high wouldn't you say? Again, I just am not real excited about any canidates yet. The most important area for me as a voter is a leader that is strong on national security by far, health care/prescription drug costs, especially for our seniors and not being fake, that they would take there job seriously, that if that say they are going to do something then they should do it. Wishful thinking? PS> Another thing that is probably most important is here I see a 'leader' not only saying the holocaust didn't exist but building nuclear weapons at the same time. If at anytime Israel needed there allies to be strong and stand by them it is now and of course for our own national interest.
45. Distorted characterization...
Richard Silverstein ,   Seattle, USA   (03.03.07)
"In a powerfully pro-Israel speech" This is a distorted characterization of the speech which I've read in full (it is availabe at my blog, Tikun Olam). There are strongly pro Israel elements in the speech as one would expect given that it was delivered before an aIPAC audience. However, the speech is much more nuanced than this reporter acknowledges. For example, in the passage the reporter quotes Obama says in effect that Bush was wrong to prevent Israel fr. negotiating w. Syria. Obama also notes that there are "stones' Israel will have to carry in order to bring peace. By which he means there are hard compromises that will have to be made. Hillary Clinton would never have made such a speech. Obama did. I give him credit. It wasn't a perfect speech by any means. But for what it was, I thought he did fairly well.
46. Rudy Giuliani Is The Best Choice.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.03.07)
47. #26 well-said, if only you call them Pro-Israel instead
(03.03.07)
48. Not powerfully pro Israel
jackiekc ,   USA   (03.03.07)
Although it would be nice to think that Barak Hussein Obama is pro Israel. as a retired newspaper editor I would have eliminated the words Powerful pro Israel from the lead. The reporter was editorializing, a fault increasingly common among journalists of today who think of themselves as commentators rather than reporters of events. I would not have expected Obama to be anything but in favour of Israel, seeing to whom he was speaking. But the key is what he says when he speaks to Arab groups. He is heralded as the great black hope however, African Americans have not been known for their support for Israel or for Jews. despite Jewish efforts during the civil rights movement. I will wait and see, but for now my vote goes to Guiliani, if he is nominated.
49. On Giuliani
M. Martin ,   NYC/Tel-Aviv   (03.03.07)
If Barak Obama is too inexperienced to be President because he is on his second term as Senator, HOW IN THE HELL is Rudolph Giuiliani more qualified to be President after two terms as mayor of NYC? That doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. A mayor, even of NYC, never has to deal with Foreign Policy and only has to deal with a city budget as opposed to a huge Federal budget that has many competing claims from competing sectors on it. To say Giuliani is more qualified to be President of the United States than Obama is ridiculous.
50. US should never dictate...UNTIL THE ELECTION IS OVER

52. Obama's "Peace": Giving Jewish Land to Implacable ENEMIES
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (03.03.07)
Obama seeks Ethnic JEW CLEANSING - giving Land for War to global jihadists who seek Israel's annihilation and the destruction of all of Western civilization. Where are the leaders in America and Israel who will fight for Israel, America and the free world??? Politicians who support global jihad - a Global Islamic TERROR State in Israel - cannot be trusted. They BETRAY Israel, America and the entire free world.
