1. palestinians freely and gladly choose poverty and misery
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (03.06.07)
the world gives more aid to the palestinians, yet they refuse to build their state. even now they choose to resist and choose the path of jihad and rejectonism which they know keeps them from receiving more charity, but they freely refuse. sure, the politicians are at fault, but who elects these losers like hamas that run on a platform of war and hate? whatever ills they experience they can rectify. life is full of choices, and they should not complain when they get what they ask for.
2. Support For Terrorism Has A Price.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.06.07)
Our security should be our only concern. Poverty in Palestine is self-inflicted, a consequence of terrorism, violence, corruption, & mismanagement. We have no obligation to allow Palestinians to work in Israel - we have an obligation to ensure our security. Palestinians should complain to their own leaders who are responsible for conditions that they created. Why do these supposed peace groups & human rights organizations present a one-sided view as if the Palestinians were innocent bystanders & not the primary cause of their situation. You would think that Israel imposes security measures for the hell of it & not as a consequence of Palestinian actions. Well, our security is a human right as well.
3. screw b'tselem

4. The Palestinian Economy...
Andrew Engel ,   Washington D.C.   (03.06.07)
...was at its best leading up to Oslo. After Arafat threw it all away and chose terror, their economy stinks. And you blame Israel? How about open borders for the free flow of goods AND bombers/rockets?
5. Rubbish! Israel behind Israeli poverty!!
BigE ,   Israel   (03.06.07)
The Palithugs always shift the blame to someone else. Why else would they have trashed those greenhouses bought for them on the Israeli pullout from that hellhole called Gaza for millions of $$ and worth thousands of good jobs? They're used to UN/EU?US handouts worth billions that go to line the pockets of their thugocracy, and fund their terror groups and weapons buying and smuggling.
6. Abdullah Jafer, a resident of Bethlehem
ben ,   singapore   (03.06.07)
"The officers mock us, beat us, do what they please with us," What a BS ! These Pals have money to buy weapons to murder the Israeli and they also want to work in Israel !!! They want to get in by impersonating workers like want to work. They are the eyes, ears , hands, legs of the terrorist. Espionage !!!!!! BE IT KNOWN, THE ISRAELI OFFICER ARE AT A GREATER RISK EVERYDAY STANDING THERE ! HAMAS SHOULD CREATE THE EMPLOYMENT FOR THEM NOT ISRAEL, THEY CAN GO AND WORK WITH THEIR ARAB BROTHERS.AHMEDINEJAD, THE KING OF JORDAN, THE SAUDI ROYALS CAN GIVE THEM JOB,GO THERE !
7. Who is guilty for this situation?
Keren ,   SP-now in Israel   (03.06.07)
Palis themselves, who ,as said by post #1,have chosen their own destiny. And the biggest culprits in all this madness ,out of palis themselves, are those who are interested in keep this madness, therefore selling arms and making a lot of more business out of the suffering of Israel.Yes,the suffreing of Israel, which just want to progress in peace among its ows and among those who respect and love this country. If those who put their nose in Isarel affairs would really want to resolv this situation ,they would work through a transfer solution, which would be the best for both people. But no,they don't want. They prefer to keep pointing the finger to Israel. We,Jewish People are used with this hate and envy, unfortunately.
8. The movie "Dumber And Dumber"
Yosef ,   Israel   (03.06.07)
Stay tuned for the sequels. The Pals are incapable of "getting it together". "Hey dude, where's my suicide vest and homemade rockets."
9. Can someone explain why MOST of YNet's

articles are from self-hating foolish Jews?
10. These B'Tselem people never fail to
Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (03.06.07)
amaze me! "Samer Auni of Hebron told the story of two officers who arrested him: "One of them held me while the other one started to scratch me in the face and neck. One of them took my ID, burned it and said that I voted for Hamas. I told him: 'I didn't vote for Hamas,' and then he asked: 'So why did Hamas win? Go let Hamas find you a job.'" This guy was scratched? Yea, the offending soldier was also wearing and shocking pink speedo and was in heels. Believe it or not I saw that incendent, yep the offending officer was having a bad day, he couldn't get his rouge to blend in through his beard. He was in quite a snit!
11. Of course it's our fault...............NOT!
Israel   (03.06.07)
What a ridiculous stupid thing to say. We cannot be held responsible for a useless terrorist Hamas government who prefers to smuggle money for weapons rather than food. Get the f--k over yourselves and wake up to reality.
12. If it's all Israel's fault, explain Gaza..
NL ,   Israel   (03.06.07)
The Gazans are poorer than the West Bankers, with a sharp down shift in the past year. This despite the fact that there was less interdependence on Israeli economy from Gaza and were fewer Palestinians coming to work for years. Poverty has increased in recent years there disproportionately to the WB, although both have had IDF military presence. Thus, it seems that there may be a reason other than Israel for economic hardship in the territories. Gee, could it also be because of internal violence and mafia-style kickbacks among hamullot? Could it be because aid money is being shunted to terror funds? Could it be because, despite the fact that the EU bought billions of dollars worth of hothouses for them from the Jews of Gush Katif, the Palestinians in the area preferred to destroy the agricultural infrastructure in hatred instead of using it to grow economically? B'Tselem chooses never to address such issues. Instead, they take hearsay testimonies at face value. For example, this one: A Palestinian couple claimed they were attacked by soldiers. They claim to have been taken by surprise and only noticed their attackers once they were within a few feet of them because it was such a pitch-black night. Yet, AMAZINGLY ENOUGH, on the same pitch-black night, neighbors hundreds of meters away claimed to have seen the entire attack. How? With their magical night vision powers? If this is the type of fact-checking B'Tselem does before logging Palestinian claims, no wonder the IDF does not feel there is sufficient evidence to take most of the claims to criminal court.
13. #1 #2 #3 well said ... ;-)

14. Leave the Palestinians alone!
Michael Steiner   (03.06.07)
Dismantle the settlements in the occupied territories, remove the checkpoints in the occupied territories, stop patrols in the occupied territories, cease control of the sea, land and air of the occupied territories... - in other words, LET'S GET OUT OF THE PALESTINIANS' FACE!! Withdraw every last Israeli from the sh'takhim, compensate the refugees and let them do whatever they want there. So long as we insist on being a (detrimental) part of their daily lives, you can't really blame them for supporting terrorism. I know I would if I was in their shoes... - and all of you castigating them on here would, too.
15. They prefer Paradise
Rachel ,   Israel   (03.06.07)
Palestinian society has been brain-washed for generations into thinking that there is no use trying in improving life here and now when you can get a free ticket to Paradise by killing Jews. B'Tselem is so totally out of touch with the people they think they are aiding. B'Tselem is only digging deeper graves for Muslims and Jews by not facing the true problem.
16. Israel behind every thing?
Arthur ,   Israel   (03.06.07)
Palestinian authority is behind their people's poverty. Where are all those Billions of dollars they received since (or may be from before) 1948? Instead filling their own pockets and making bombs they could have opened factories?!
17. YNET = AL JAZEERA

19. self-delusion
yermiah ,   san francisco   (03.06.07)
it is my hope that some day soon a critical mass of jewish people will realize that a war is being waged against their existence, and that there is something pathetic, immoral, and absurd about trying to apply peace-time norms of economic cooperation in the middle of a war zone. we should be as concerned about these issues as the allies were about how incendiary bombing may have exacerbated unemployment in dresden. the people at fault for this ultimately are the israeli government and the israeli public who have ratified their nonsense for the last two decades. if israel hadn't recognized and legitimized a terrorist society and started pretending there wasn't a war, they wouldn't look bad every time something happens that is the result of their actually being in the midst of a war. until the israeli public cleans house at the ballot box and has olmert, peres, peretz and all their minions airdropped into Tulkarem (or Silwan, for that matter!) wearing kipot for a lesson in how peace-loving Arabs really are, Israel will be constantly exposed to these kinds of attacks. If you are unwillingly to admit to the world that someone is your enemy, you will always look bad when you are forced to treat him like one.
20. betselem is worse that anti semites
angry reuven ,   usa   (03.06.07)
can some please brake their heads for me??.ask teslem what have you done for the jews in arab countries?
21. Faulty logic in B'Tselem's argument
close reader ,   USA   (03.06.07)
B'Tselem, on one hand, blames the economic problem on the fact that Israel fostered employment dependence among the Palestinians. At the same time, they're trying to institutionalize employment of Palestinians in Israel. This seems antithetical. If they truly believe their argument, shouldn't they be pushing for intensive job creation within the West Bank? Why don't they? Why do they detail a specific, well-researched plan about letting Palestinians into Israel to work, but have only the most general, toothless statement, with no accompanying concrete suggestion, about how to improve job creation in the West Bank? Could it be because they saw what happened in Gaza when people tried to create an employment infrastructure for the Palestinians? Could it be because the mismanagement of charitable funds in the past has been so blatant that even B'Tselem has noticed it? Corruption, internal violence and the subsequent destruction of property, appropriation of aid money for terror, and similar behavior sadly suggest that Palestinians prefer to remain ensconced in the seductive melodrama of victimization and martyrdom, instead of working hard to actually create an improved reality for themselves in their area of residence. B'Tselem's proposed 'solutions' indicate that even they are aware of this self-destructive Palestinian preference.
22. They forgot to blame Israel for the Lunar Eclipse.

24. Israel and Palistinian workers
TA ,   TA   (03.06.07)
Is it me or am I misinformed. Why do WE have to make sure that the people who want to see us dead have work?? We have enough unemployed people in Israel, who can do the jobs the Palistinians do too. If they need work they should go to their government and demand that THEY do something. They want to be independent, well, then they have to deal with the fact that THEY have to look after themselfs. I am not saying that we should mistreat them, but they do not have the AUTOMATIC RIGHT to work in this country.
25. I'm tired of B'tzelem blaming everything on one party
Zvi   (03.06.07)
Never mind that HAMAS smuggles in explosives instead of food and spends its money on guns instead of medical supplies. Never mind that Israel doesn't charge for energy or water. Never mind that the Palestinians' government and security forces are spending their days and nights planning bombing attacks against Israeli civilians instead of planning how to build an economy. Never mind that HAMAS and Fatah can't even go 2 weeks without shooting at each other. Never mind that THERE IS NO LAW OR ORDER IN THE TERRITORIES EXCEPT WHERE ISRAEL REMAINS IN CONTROL. Never mind that HAMAS idealogues insist that their right to destroy Israel outweighs their own people's right to EAT. Never mind the BILLIONS OF DOLLARS funnelled into the Palestinian terror economy over the last few years. Never mind any of that. It's obviously Israel's fault. Why? Because Israel actually LISTENS to these guys. The Palestinians don't, so why criticize them?
26. What about the Palestinians?
Palestinian   (03.06.07)
The Palestinians are the most educated, most Westernized, most enterprising, least tribal of all the Middle Eastern groups. They were a force for the modernization and economic development in Middle Eastern countries. They were a source of instability and insecurity for the ruling elite. So they were pushed back and not given the rights of citizenship, not given the opportunity to be assimilated. All that's gotta be unwound. They're human beings like everyone else, and they've gotta be given a chance. http://www.copyrightinfringed.com/copyright_infringed/2003/10/on_september_11.html

29. THE LAW OF LOGICAL CONSEQUENCES
Yonatan Koss ,   Chi Town, OR. USA   (03.06.07)
The first Paragraph of the story says it all. They are complaining about illegal workers? What do they not understand about the word illegal? When you have a system that is totally dependant on outside help yet you teach only violence against the people that have the jobs you need, it is completely self defeating. I will not challenge the Arabs intelligence quotient, only those like this leftist agency filling the report and Erev Rav Steiner who defends them. These people have made a business out of defending the un-defendable. Along with illegal workers, leftist agencies like those reporting such frivolous non-issues should be made illegal. Almost every day the IDF confiscates knives, guns and explosives from the so called illegal workers. I call them blood thirsty terrorists but I do not have the same liberal lisp so excuse my pronunciation! Giving these rascally people anything for their deviant behavior is incongruent to the norms of any sane universe. Why should Israel act diametrically opposite from the substantial threat imposed upon it? These are not like Mexicans trying to find a better life in the USA. This is a population of people who teach babies from the time they can spell that the greatest possible use of their bodies is to carry a bomb into a group of Jewish women with strollers (it has happened more than twice). No matter what type of propaganda the left spews at us like this report, the facts do not change on the ground. The constant threat of violence against innocent Israeli women and children makes all the restrictions very necessary. We must all understand these tactics are not new. The Arabs have used terror in the same area for two hundred years. If the population is using terror now because of the war in 1948 why did they kill hundreds in 1929 in Hebron and Jerusalem? Why did the Arabs kill so many Jews that purchased land from the Ottoman Empire that had never been settled or cultivated before between 1930 and 1935 in the great intifada (yes same name) in those years? Was it because their population was displaced in 1948? Of course not, when they are not killing Jews they kill each other. Sorry leftwing groups, you are completely blind and mentally challenged if you think we cannot see the great deception you are portraying. Let them become industrious and export products other than terror. They have made their own reality inside the places they inhabit, they can sink or swim. Why should Israel reach out their helping hand only to have it cut off?
30. #1 and who elected the Israeli politicians?
(03.06.07)
((who elects these losers like hamas that run on a platform of war and hate?)) are you making justification for killing civilians from both sides ?
