1. Israeli Professor said claim was totally unfounded
Sharon ,   Israel   (03.06.07)
and hinted .that documentary was a load of rubbish. Thse tombs were founds in the 80's not "recently" and the Discovery channel have hyped it up to be something it isnt. These is absolutely no proof whatsoever that it is the tomb of Jesus of Nazereth. The names Jesus, Mary & Joseph were the most common names around at the time - like Mohammed, Ahmed, Ibrahim and Fatma to the Moslems. This is all a load of bull!
2. Why not?
Leo ,   Miami, USA   (03.06.07)
i dont get it..............every one knows christianity was created on the yr 312 ad in rome to sustain the needs of the leaders of that time. Of course they wer going to say that so called Yoshua was bigger than life........it served the purpose. In my opinion, the biggest lie in human's history. Nothing wrong on trying to show that this is just a lie.
3. THERE ARE MANY SCIENTIFIC THEORIES THAT HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED &
MOSHE ,   US   (03.06.07)
DEBUNKED AT A FUTURE TIME. FOR EXAMPLE, IN THE 1960'S (APPROXIMATE DECADE) ARCHEOLOGISTS CLAIMED THAT THE RUINS AT JERICHO WAS CAUSED BY AN EARTHQUAKE. THIRTY YEARS (APPROXATELY) LATER THEY DISMISSED THEIR FINDINGS WHEN THEY CLAIMED THAT THE EARTHQUAKE OCCURRED OVER A HUNDRED YEARS AFTER THE TIME OF JOSHUA'S LIFE. SO WHAT. THE POINT IS THAT ISRAEL IS THE LAND OF THE JEWS. JESUS WOULD HAVE BEEN A JEW. PERIOD. MOSHE
4. Story Time for Bonzo...
Al   (03.06.07)
Sir..The Christians have been murdering the Jews forever...Read you history and spare me the garbage. Yes today you a tzaddick but when push will come to shove you'll be there along with all the others only too willing to turn the valve. I am sorry I dont trust you as far as I can throw you. Your history stinks a mile a minute.
5. DOCUMENTARY
JK ,   NYC   (03.06.07)
Noone stood up and noone flew away, you would think when you create and follow a religion, it would be based upon something more substantive than some bubbe mayse, the defensiveness and the anger well, that is the reason for the Holocaust, Pogroms, Inquisition, Massacres, Expulsions etc, etc.
6. Film
Galit ,   Lynbrook   (03.06.07)
The film is based upon facts, hard solid rock and scientific evidence, your religion is based upon air and myth, this film has destroyed the basis for your beliefs as Abraham smashed idols, this films smashes your latest form of it.
7. Christians making threats,
Shachar ,   NYC   (03.06.07)
It is a religion of two thousand years of blood, slavery and destruction, and its core myth has been crumbled like feta cheese.
8. just doing my job
issa ,   holy land   (03.06.07)
if you were working in a professional business, you would be fired for putting your cleint before your morals and ethics. but when it comes to a christian minister its even worse. the only thing that you care for mr. Hedding is to defend Israel even if it is before your own faith which you claim that you belong to. try and get to the bottom of this rather than blind following to holywood and the jewish control. wake up and evaluate who realy are you and what do you stand for
9. The Only Thing Debunked Is The Hocus Pocus Part
David ,   Marietta USA   (03.06.07)
JC was deified in 312 by men, and very superstitious, politically motivated men at that. What has just collapsed is the nonsensical fairy tale that evolved over over the next 1700 years. There is too much circumstantial evidence presented that all fits together very nicely for this to be the fairy tale. What falls apart is the Easter resurrection, water to wine, walking on water, basically the silly stuff. What remains is a radical departure from the brutal philosophy of Roman society, and the birth of a much more caring, loving human centered philosophy, which until now was nice, but lacked credibility. Now we know there was a guy, from that family, who taught a different way of life that did catch on, with all of its human frailties. As a deeply religious Jew, I now am no longer in a position to sneer at the silly behavior of my Christian neighbors (and friends) as being part of a giant cult. Now for the first time, a big chunk of their belief system can be separated irrefutably from the Harry Potter magic stuff the Church touts as being reality, and it no longer drags the good stuff down with it. In the same way a Jew does not have to believe in God to be Jewish, now a good Christian does not have to believe in Jesus as being God, or a piece of God or the son of God to be a good Christian. Truth survives. Fables don't. My two shekels
10. Why not? Because you will be left with the bigger lie --
AK   (03.06.07)
that Allah is the god and Mohammad is his prophet. And what is Judaism built on? A burning bush? Every religion is built on a legent. You don't have to believe it yourself, but NEVER insult beliefs of your friends; especially when you ONLY have ONE friend.
11. Offended?
Jeffrey ,   NY   (03.06.07)
I am offended that you take offense, I am offended that Ann Frank is now welcome in the US with citizenship sixty five years after she was originally denied entry.

13. Christians Losing Respect?
Edwin ,   Canada   (03.06.07)
When have Christians had respect? Maybe it was when they forced Jews to eat pork. It was obviously showing respect when they made the “converts” continue eating even after throwing up. Or how about Jews being forced, on pain of death, to celebrate of Easter in place of Passover? Or how about Martin Luther advocated burning synagogues to the ground? Too much respect.
14. What is happening to christian usa jewish relations!
Sam ,   Los Angeles   (03.06.07)
As a typical born christian in the united states I was shocked that this report came out and was all over our news. to those that attach themselves to christianity in anyway further alienates and reinforces the jews are trying to control mentality hich according to the adl 90% of americans feel that the jews control too much. actually post jimmy carter and all of that stuff you have right wing commentators like bill oreilly getting all over jews and making the american public distrust jews. it was a huge mistake that this was on tv. if a jew was behind this being on tv in the us you have much to be worried about. this is either a plan to make jews hated in america by christians or it is a few out of control jews in the media. i honestly cant figure it out because the big names that control the media here are actaually heavily influenced by jews! this is nothing short of christian in israel yelling out on your street corner news news! judaism is a lie. since 80% of americans attach themsevles to the christian faith why are jews falling hard! this must be a planned thing against you guys because it is nothing but bad for you.
15. Article

Your article is so threatening I am so scared but unfortunately I have Hasham on my side and you have well, nobody,ha ha per the evidence presented, also called the truth.
16. Let's make a trade
Steve G ,   Kew Gardens, NY, USA   (03.06.07)
I propose a trade. America will accept all the silly 'Jesus Tomb' coverage if Israel will take the entire Anna Nicole Smith and Britney Spears stories.

18. What is good for the goose...
edwin ,   Canada   (03.06.07)
It is peculiar how Christians can come on this website and claim to have “uncontestable” and “conclusive” proof of the resurrection of Jesus as god, thereby nullifying the tenets of Judaism and the Tanach. Yet, when pressed, this so-called conclusive proof does not pass the simplest scrutiny, and their ostentatious claims turns out to be nothing more than faith. Nevertheless, these people presume to tell the Jews that god changed his mind and is now sending them to hell. Yet, if a Jew proposes a theory contrary to NT canon, Christians are offended! This film does not suggest Christians are going to hell and certainly is not trying to convert Christians to Judaism. So why the offence?
19. Lets pose another question shall we?
cj ,   usa   (03.06.07)
There are many who say that Jesus never existed, died, nor rose from the dead. I personally believed he did. For those non-believers, whether Jewish or not, let me ask you this question. How do you know that YUD HAYV VAV HAYV exIsts? Have you ever seen him? Have you ever been to heaven to talk to him? How do you know that Moshe existed? Has anyone ever found his bones? Where did the writings of the Tonach come from? How about the 10 commandments? Better yet has any seen or found the bones if Ish and Isha? How about mohammed for our muslim friends. There are sunnis and shia that believe there are 2 different holy site for him. Explain to me if you can the basis of the existance of the Heavenly Yerushaliem? How about the heavenly hosts of angels? The answer to all of the above questions above is FAITH. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the EVIDENCE of things not seen. By faith everything we see was created by the unseen word of God. Now it's up to me and you to choose to believe Gods word, or reject it as being false. Why would the Old Testament be true, and not the New Testament? If the words spoken by Hashem in the Tonach are to be accepted as fact, then why are his words concerning the birth of his son Jesus rejected as lies? You cannot have sweet and bitter water coming out of the same well. If the New Testament says Jesus was the last Adam, and he died and rose from the dead to present his blood as the final cleansing blood which puts an end to animal sacrifice for the forgiveness of sin, then why is that so hard to believe? Because it demands you to believe something that you cannot see and that takes faith. Jesus blood had to be shed to cleanse the heavenly utinsels of worship which had been defiled by Adams sin.(This is not the only reason). If you believe in the virgin birth, (and I do), then this guy who claims he found Jesu's bones is a fraud. Why? Where did he get the DNA from? Since the fall of Adam, Hashem promised the birth of Jesus right then and there in the garden. So the this guy would have to get the dna of THE SPOKEN WORD to prove the existence of Jesus. If you cannot believe that the world was formed by the spoken word of Hashem, then you will never believe in the birth, death, burial, and resurection of Jesus, the last Adam. It's really not that hard to believe. We just make something so easy seem so difficult and impossible.
20. Is it offensive?
Judy Y ,   Los Angeles   (03.06.07)
On the same Ynet issue where it's reported that Catholic Bishops compare Israel with the Nazis and the situation of Palestinians with the Holocaust, I can say that Christian's sense of offence appears to be extremely exaggerated. Within less than 60 years from the greatest genocide in the history of humankind, where Jews were demonized, persecuted and killed by Christians, are Christians offended by the reporting of a tomb with names that match JC and his family? What does that mean, exactly? That Jews should keep quiet about this find because it might offend Christians? Jews are extremely careful not to offend Muslims, Christians, and everybody else on the planet. This was not an offensive find and not offensive reporting. Christians should pay more attention to what Muslims are doing to Christians at this very moment in places like Africa, for example. Or what Muslims are doing to Christians in the PA, such as the ethnic cleansing in Bethlehem? Don't Christians find that offensive?
21. Evidence
Kevin G ,   Oregon   (03.06.07)
Jews base their religion on historical facts. Not that everything passes scientific scrutiny, a lot of it is tradition. But at least they have something concrete to show for their beliefs: archaeological evidence. Christians, on the other hand, base their New Testament set of beliefs on what JC said, as reported by individuals who may or may have not been present at the time. And, by the way, "hearsay" evidence is the basis for Islam too, the fastest growing religion these days. So when something is found that could at least be construed as "evidence" that Jesus existed and that he had a family with names that match Christian beliefs, Christians are rejecting it as false, because it would erode the very basic belief in the supernatural nature of Christ. A rather difficult situation, wouldn't you say?
22. To those offended by the show
Reality Check ,   BaGolan   (03.06.07)
Let us look at some stark realities: First of all the show was produced by an American Non-Jew who produced all the hype. Any Christians, and any others, offended by its contents could have just as easily turned off the TV and watched something else (the miracle of TV) I will remind all that both the US and Israel are democracies with unfetered expressions of freedom allowed individuls. The show was the opinion of a limited group of Jews and non-Jews expressing their beliefs and findings. If Christians are so offended by these types of shows, where was the outrage regarding the nazi Mel Gibson's "Passion of the Christ" which depicted Jews in the most vile context? If Christians are so offended, then we must question their true beliefs. The belief in a "Jesus" for Christians is the same as the beliefs in many of the tenets of our faith - Judaism. IT IS A LEAP OF FAITH-we cannot always prove our beliefs and all our traditions - we just know that in our hearts it is true!!!!! If Christians, such as Mr. Hedding, is so offended and claims to be losing respect, one must question Mr. heddings devotion to the State and what his true intentions were in the first place. Mr. Hedding may NOT ask ANYONE to desist from exhibiting their findings, just as he never asked Herr gibson to desist from his ongoing Nazi rantings. When nations allow freedom of speech, we must accept the positive with the negative, and we have our G-D GIVEN INTELLECT AND FAITH to accept or deny!
23. We know the truth.
dovid ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.06.07)
who cares when the tomb was discovered? Who cares if Discovery channel makes some money off of this. The facts are the Tomb was discovered the combinations of names was not that common. DNA test were preformed only one was made public, the rest are not being made public to protect the church. This is 100% proof postive. We all know that the Xtain gods bones are rotting in some warehouse. The xtain god is flesh and bones and has died of natural causes. xtian religion is based on fraud. EDOM will fall. My advise to all you xtian is stop worshipping man and obey the seven noahide laws. Prohibition of idolatry Prohibition of blasphemy Prohibition of murder Prohibition of theft Prohibition of illicit relations Prohibition of eating live meat Prohibition of failing to establish courts of justice
24. WHAT THE PROPHETS IN THE TANAKH SAID . . .
Craig Crawford ,   Laguna Niguel   (03.06.07)
Let's look at the historical facts of the Messiah's death and resurrection ... first, there were THOUSANDS of witnesses still alive at the time the Gospels were written who had witnessed His death and Resurrection ... second, the two powers of the day (the Romans and the Jewish political-religious leaders) would have done or given anything to produce the body of Jesus (Yeshua) to prove He (Yeshua) had not been resurrected ... yet, even the ancient historians of the time acknowledge they could never produce His body no matter how hard they looked and tried. And finally, concerning the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha'Mashiach in Hebrew), the very, very Jewish Peter (who was well versed in the Scriptures) writes we also have "the more sure word of prophecy" (from the Old Testament (Tanakh) ... written 1000 - 400 years before the birth, death, and resurrection of the promised Messiah) to prove Jesus-Yeshua is the promised Messiah who fulfilled all of the prophecies concerning His first coming ...  "We have also a more sure word of prophecy which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place ..." (2 Peter 1:19) Here, (written 1000 years before He was crucified) the Bible told us Messiah would be resurrected from His death . . .  "For You will not leave my soul in Sheol [Hell], Nor will You allow Your Holy One (Messiah) to see corruption (decompose) ..." (Psalm 16:10) Messiah would be born in Bethlehem ... AND He would be Eternal . . .  "But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." (Eternal ... the Bible warns here Messiah would step forth from Eternity.) (Micah 5:2) The New Testament is written by eye-witnesses to the events ... there is hope and a promise for all who will believe. But, for all those who deny or doubt the Resurrection there will no hope ...  "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead,  you will be saved" (from Hell ... and lovingly welcomed into His Kingdom of Heaven with tears of joy) (Romans 10:9) (But, if you are convinced not to believe you will not be saved into the Kingdom of Heaven ...) Grace and Shalom,
25. changes nothing but, it is ashame
AY_Lamb ,   USA   (03.06.07)
Please listen carefully and pay attention. There is "NO" genuine concern about this discovery. No Christian from time immemorial has had any real interest in ascertaining the particulars of this individual's life. Theirs is only one truth and that is the temporarily corporeal figure quoted in sacred text is the one G_d and that text is infallible and questioning this leads to one fate and one fate only. The common blessing so graciously and abundantly bestowed on Israel is either 1) A gallows blessing or 2) They feel since they are the true believers they are in fact just blessing themselves (so they are good with it). This entire thing is meaningless and I feel bad because I think after seeing the film that Jacobovici, Cameron and especially Dr. Tabor were albeit naively trying to do a good thing trying to put out valuable information in a considerate way with a desire to unite and not divide they just embarked from a too secular point of view. Worst case scenario is Western Christian Leaders will openly express as Eastern Orthodox leaders already do that the "Holy Land is captured by "non-believer usurpers" This belief is already prevalent just not spoken openly. The whole controversy lies in Secular ideals versus Non-Secular. You must see that none of this can be helped - to Christians all good originates and ends from one source and it certainly isn't buried in any cave anywhere on Earth "P.E.R.I.O.D" Prior to this documentary the desire to spread good and "witness" to the good people willing to reform was already growing in massive popularity and this documentary will just add more of a precedent .
26. Do we really need all this right now?
ethan solal ,   Montreal, Canada   (03.06.07)
First, the fact that James Cameron is producing the documentary tells it all: it's all show-bizness, special effects (like in Terminator or Titanic) and there is nothing serious or that can be proved scientifically. A good way to make money, then, right in the Da Vinci Code latest fashion. 2nd, even if it's the real tomb of the real Yeshua ben Yossef (Jesus), so what?? It won't change a lot the christian's faith. Period. Third, congratulations M. Simcha Jacobucci. I just want to remind you that WE, the Jews and Israelis, need the support of America, especially the support of the christians electors. So thank you, thank you very much -- your ego must be the size of your home in Thornhill, Ontario. If you have an education in history, then you know that when the Jews found refuse in the muslims country when persecuted by the christians in Europe. Now that our enemy is clearly identified as many of the muslims countries, do you think we really had to cut ourselves from the christians in the US?
27. Reply to Leo - 2.
James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (03.06.07)
Then Leo you are a very silly man. The Christian Church came into being at Pentecost immediately after the resurrection of Christ as recorded in the Gospels. The Church you talk of is Roman Catholicism a thinly veiled version of Paganism dressed as Christian.
28. Reply to Al - 4
James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (03.06.07)
The Roman Catholic Church once it became by threat and force the dominant system did indeed practise many horrors on Jews and sadly the Protestant movement did the same in many instances but as the Gospel spread these diminished in Protestant lands and others where Rome was losing it's hold. Yet today the influence of that Roman church is still felt by the anti-Semitism of it's followers in whatever lands they stay. Add the Muslim voice and you get a false impression from out of many countries that on the whole don't bear the Jews any malice. Certainly not real Christians.
