31. Reply to David - 9.
James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (03.06.07)
David, This might be hard for you to believe but I have friends whose little daughter had cross-eyes that defied all medical help yet on one evening a group from our little fellowship laid hands on the child and prayed. The next morning I met her father whose face was filled with joy. He was not a believer yet when I asked him why he was so happy he replied, had I not heard about little Fiona? I asked what about her and he brought her into my shop for me to see that her eyes were straightened as if they had always been that way. He had just come from the doctor's where the story of what happened had been also related and they had no answer to what was obviously a miracle. I was ashamed because my faith was not strong enough to take part but the evidence was there as it has been on further occasions when I have witnessed the power of God and that from a belief that you ridicule just as the Jewish leadership did all those centuries ago with Jesus. A Christian does believe that Jesus is God for without that belief he or she is not a Christian.
32. Faith versus Science
Rafael ,   Detroit, Michigan   (03.06.07)
We all need to ask ourselves the fundamental question - when does science eclipse faith? It's true that the TalPiot Tomb is no sure thing. But a reasonable person (of faith) would agree that the statistics bear further evaluation - scientific or otherwise. The chances of this tomb being the resting place of another family is at best remote. Jesus and Joseph are common enough names, but throw in Mariamne and Yosse and the odds go through the roof. They were all there together, in a single tomb. It's virtually impossible to ignore the statistical improbability of this. However, the implications of this are not for a Jew (like me) to decide. It is a Christian issue, and I have heard nothing from the Vatican that tells me that the tomb and its revelations have had any effect on the future of the faith. Did you really think it would? Perhaps in the years to come, a more modern forensic method will shed new light on this discussion. In the meantime, it's a matter of science, and faith...

34. The film is a scandal, another from the left wing media
Chrissy K ,   Helsinki   (03.06.07)
Not all the Israeli media are left-wing unhinged radicals. But those who made this so-called documentary are...... So are the mass media commentators hyping this ridiculous film...... There is something mentally missing from those who made the film and those who are promoting it..... That missing something from the film is: intelligence, sensitivity, and wisdom..... This horrible film, its makers, and the mass media celebrating it are operating under demonic power, and need to turn from their evil, and get into the faith (Jewish or Christian).
35. Reply to David - 23.
James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (03.06.07)
David, Who was the last Jew you know of who ever kept those laws? According to the Scriptures none ever did outside of Jesus but then to you he doesn't count. Is that not why Israel still awaits a Messiah because without one you know it's a doomed nation? Ever thought why you were covered by sacrifices just to see out your time on this planet? But then they couldn't get you into Heaven. No, only the righteousness of God revealed to the sinner will and by the faith of Jesus Christ the one you still want to persecute by ridiculing Him and us. A very silly mistake in my opinion. As for the tomb, the Jews see it as a sign but the Greeks will seek evidence through wisdom, yet faith upon all that God desires in man wins out all the time.
36. Relations
K ,   Mobile, AL   (03.06.07)
I really dont see it as affecting Christian--Jewish relations at all. It has more to do with the Hollywood--Relgious relationship. Hollywood despises all traditional religions.
37. Perhaps "offended" is not the right word
Tracy W   (03.06.07)
How about worried? Christianity does not have the political power to impose its beliefs anymore. In spite of the Christian suppression of important documents and evidence that put in doubt Christian fundamental beliefs, people can still question them and do research on their own. This documentary is simply responding to world-wide interest in the true origins of Christianity. It is not offensive. Speaking of films, Mel Gibson's Passion was offensive to Jews. However, Christians everywhere became fascinated by it, accepted its portrayal of the crucifixion, and never thought much of its implications for Jews. And it was only a movie, a Mel Gibson's movie at that.
38. TB #19 You are 100% Correct. Best answer yet.

39. #19 Well thought out answer. It really is the spoken word.
randall ,   wyoming   (03.06.07)
40. If the Jews believe that....
connor ,   duluth   (03.06.07)
the Tonach teaches that Enoch was translated up to heaven and did not taste death, and that Elijah was caught up to heaven in a whirlwind without dying physically, than why is so hard for them to believe that Jesus rose from the dead? Isn't it by the same power of the same God?
41. Christian Hypocrisy
Er   (03.06.07)
Christians embrace every trace of Biblical archaelogy as proof of the supposed truth of their religion (remember the discovery of the James bone-box?) but when the evidence contradicts doctrine -- then its "offensive" and ridiculed as pseudo-science. The fact is that Christians are shaking in their boots, at least subconsciously, hence the over-reaction. So the film-makers present some evidence and make an argument. Whether you agree with their argument or not, does not delete the evidence -- and to many people its just too coincidential for this NOT to be Jesus' tomb. But then the jury is still out -- in the meantime, Christians would do better by trying to question and observe the evidence rather than attacking the messenger and jumping to their pre-made conclusions.
42. Reply to Edwin - 18.
James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (03.06.07)
Edwin, The very tenets of your book which we also have tells everyone quite plainly what you reject. Do I have to say that it was not Gentiles who set the thing in motion but people of your religion who were given insight and of whom you also rejected, that did so. They were the ones that God spoke to, not us, and they were the witnesses to all that you hate about us. Furthermore I have not seen on these threads any Christian trying to force any Jewish person to do anything but we will contest the Scriptures without threats that you and yours seem ably reliant to indulge in. But then never forget that before there were Hebrews it was Gentiles that God had carry the word even to you for was not Abraham only an Assyrian from Ur before God chose him?
43. Reply to DACON9 - 30.
James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (03.06.07)
Let's not get the cart before the horse. Your ancient books refer on many occasions to a Messiah who will come and in the usual manner of prophecy the whole is never quite altogether at the one time which makes understanding difficult. However in your Scriptures there is mention by names of the Messiah and quite astonishingly are the same names that Gabriel is recorded as giving to Mary about her baby that at the time she did not carry. Also the name attributed to God, the Alpha and Omega, is the very name that the Lord Jesus Christ signs off with in the vision given to John on Patmos. So please don't say there is no evidence when there is plenty of evidence. It is there and no matter how much you want to you cannot turn a blind eye to it. This tomb thing is something that you hope to kill that which you can't by the Scriptures. What I cannot understand is that your greatest friends are real Christians yet you want to destroy that bond that we feel for you, why?
44. Reply to no-name - 33.
James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (03.06.07)
On the eve of His interment guards were placed at the tomb. After the period written of, the guards had disappeared but certain women arrived to find the tomb empty as did Peter and John later. But these only witness the empty tomb. Later it is recorded that Jesus appeared to Mary Magdalene and then two others to be followed by His appearance to many others including the eleven disciples over the next forty days. Whether that amounts to thousands or hundreds it doesn't matter for to many He did appear to not only talk with but eat with as recorded. They were the witnesses and they were Jewish and they recorded it for our benefit. This was done despite the persecution of the Jewish religious lobby who wanted the thing stopped in it's tracks. But these men and women couldn't be stopped for as God said even had they been the very stones on the ground would have spoken out and this is what you bash your brains and intellect on trying to do.
45. #27---James, Origin of Church
edwin ,   Canada   (03.06.07)
James, you claim not to be Roman Catholic and reject responsibility for their actions. Yet, James, you are one. You see everything you believe you received from the Holy Mother Church. It was they that codified your ideas of who Jesus was. It was even they who told you to go to church on Sunday and celebrate Easter. How different are you? Just details. One of these details is you probably renounce the Eucharist in favor of Communion. Why? You reason can’t be because it was Papish since the earliest church father, Irenaeus, definitely celebrated Eucharist less than 100 years after Jesus. In any case, neither the Eucharist nor Communion remotely resembles the sader on which they are based! James, you should read your Christian history and find out everything they didn’t want you to know.
46. jesus's tomb and the rest!!!!!
yosef ,   FR   (03.06.07)
So many things have been writen and said about jesus, the first xtians, and also about the torah, Moshe, David etc.....etc (films, books, archeologies finding or lack of it)all contradicting what one beleifs, what ever xtian or jews... the facts are, xtians are still around and so the jewish faith..... as everything is base on faith, I do not see why you are all pulling off each others air?! common, grow up, unless we go back to the inquisition people are still free to publish what they think is right?! the xtian follow Darwin teaching in EU and this does not seem to offend you although this goes against the xtian faith as much as the jewish faith.... in fact it seems to me that this discovery is a challange to both and if approach positivly ,this challange is good BUT NOT TO START AN OTHER CRUSADE like the primitives of the past.
47. Reply to ER - 41.
James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (03.06.07)
Far from wanting to pick a fight with you it should be noted that despite the laws, despite the sacrifices, despite the Scriptures it is you who are shrouded in additions and precepts that still make you a stubborn people who cannot even agree amongst yourselves what it is that God wants of you. You are so covered in manmade additions to the original that you have become blind to it's simplicity. If you were as a nation all of one mind you couldn't move for your religiosity such as it has become. You are bound in laws not to make you better but to show up just how much removed from God you have become yet in your arrogance you cannot see it. And you have the nerve to attack a people who are duty bound to protect you. Who are the hypocrites here? Christianity is not founded on anything other than the faith of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Faith is believing the unseen. We don't need sacrifices nor fiery pillars to believe and neither should you.

James, you don’t have the Jewish “Book”. Please tell me how do you kill an animal the Kosher way? Does your OT tell you?

It therefore follows that Elvis may have resurrected and now lives in Ohio. It can't be too hard to believe that, can it?
50. Millions of Xians are offended?

O.K. So am I but what you did to us over the past two millennia and what you are STILL doing to us... - except now you're not destroying us physically but mentally through your missionaries.
51. As i told him before

When he said that this film will be the most important film in his life ... i told him yes because it will be your last one .... the guy played with fire ... who payed him ???? or who washed his brain ???? this is the question .
52. Reply to Edwin - 45.
James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (03.07.07)
Edwin, Your analysis of me and my belief could not be further from the truth. My conversion came at a late age, forty, and that in no way involved Rome indeed the very opposite which is also seen in my denials of much that is Protestant. But then as you cannot accept the possibility of what I could relate as being Godly it remains for me to contend by Scripture and not through any false church system that can be so easily exposed as such. Just accept if you can that what I write I have learned of God by the Scriptures with no outside influence whatsoever excepting to see how wrong these can be regarding God. Also I made no excuse for Rome nor would I ever make excuse for those named Protestant thinking themselves Christian. What I write I do for the benefit of Israel and not to deprive her of anything.
53. Reply to yosef - 46.
James ,   Glasgow, Scotland   (03.07.07)
yosef, It may surprise you that I believe that God made the world and all else in six days and on the seventh He rested. Why, because it is written that He said He did and I believe God. Now Darwin may have convinced many to other thoughts and for that he will have to explain at the judgement but does that mean we have to believe it as well? The serpent told Eve she surely wouldn't die when God quite clearly said she would if she ate of the fruit. It is purely a question of who you believe and still is. Everytime Israel disobeyed God they in fact disbelieved Him and therefore for that disbelief they bore the consequences and still will. Disbelief always comes before disobedience so why is it that Jews believe they are exempt from God's word on the subject? If ever a nation's disbelief was recorded none was moreso than Israel's.
54. Tomb of Jesus "found"
shanatova ,   australia   (03.07.07)
Perhaps the maker of the documentary of the "The Lost Tomb of Jesus" should have a go at "proving" that the Angel Gabriel came to Muhammed and that the alleged "footprint" of Muhammed on the Temple Mount was in fact his as he was taken up to heaven. The DNA testing should do the trick. Trick is right - deception is next. Think about it! Not brave enough to disprove the Hindu faith, the Buddhist faith, the Islamic faith - but the core of believing that the Messiah has not come, was not crucified and did not rise on the first day of the week, as foretold in the Bible. Shame, shame, shame shanatova
55. Jesus family tomb
Albert ,   Canada   (03.07.07)
the burden of proof is not to disprove the resurrection but to prove it.
56. Mr. Hedding, do you have an actual point?
Mr Curtis   (03.07.07)
Lets review. A person claiming to be a journalist AND filmaker makes some dramatic statements and produces a deliberately dramatic and controversial TV show. Obviously this will be covered by actual news media. Yes I mean actual journalism, as opposed to psuedo-journalism where a director/producer/film-maker claims to be a "journalist" and then produces a 'docu-drama' for TV. You apparantly have an issue with one reporter in specific, and then connect that with some wide-sweeping claims about christians being offended by the jewish community. I just don't see the connection. If you are offended, I suggest you direct it towards the responsible parties, and not an entire community. I suspect that a large part of that should be directed at Mr. Simcha Jacobovici and Dr. Tabor, who are the source of all this in the first place, and you did not even mention. If this tv program is disturbing to your faith, then I suggest your faith needs some work.
57. AUTHOR=''As a Christian''..IS IT THE JEWS FAULT AGAIN?

59. Malcolm Hedding opinion
Robert Erickson ,   Saskatoon   (03.07.07)
First, in what ways is this offensive? Second, considering people have died over a picture of a prophet is testimony as to why I would dismiss such religeous based commentary. Argue to science - not the faith. I have not seen any so far. Finally, why is so fantastical that a tomb of Jesus' family is found. They were historical people were they not. So, now you have concrete evidence that Jesus existed. Not sure why people like Mr. Hedding is not happy. Join the 21 century.
