1. Few Muslim visitors willing to confront "truths" with facts
Raymond from DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (03.07.07)
Because for them the "truth" is self-evident. Many years ago I helped teach a course on the Arab Israeli conflict (that's what we called it then) at a Big Ten university. Almost half my students were Jewish; they took the class because they wanted to know. OTOH, I had only one Muslim or Arab student, a Lebanese. Why? I suspected they assume the truth is self-evident, so there's no need to study it. (And based on the worthless "research" paper he submitted, he wasn't interested in seeking the truth either.) Similarly here, Muslims accept the Jewish assault on Al Aqsa as self-evident, as they readily accept the allegation of a "massacre" of Egyptian soldiers. The simple act of visiting the site holds the risk of confronting their "truths" with facts.
2. Of course the Arabs haven't visited the
Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (03.07.07)
site. It really doesn't matter to them what goes on there, as long as they have a excuse to riot they're happy. Heck with the facts
3. Just shows how the Jews are open
Reality Check ,   BaGolan   (03.07.07)
and prepared to show there is no devious plot, in spite of what Carter or haniyeh claim. In the meantime, the Arabs have destroyed the Old Synagogue in Jericho, are trying to destroy Joseph's tomb, and have destroyed untold Jewish artifacts under the Temple Mount - and NOT ONE WORD OF CONDEMNATON OR DISGUST FROM THE LEFT.
4. webcam link
dovid ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.07.07)
Here is the webcam link http://www.antiquities.org.il/home_eng.asp The Muslims are afraid of what we will find. They are now claiming that the Temple never existed on the Temple mount.
5. Of course interest is waning
Jonno ,   Oz   (03.07.07)
I've lost interest already. Some Muslims however might be interested in maintaining the rage.
6. Reality TV, Archaeology style :-P
Zvi ,   USA   (03.07.07)
As someone interested in archaeology, I take a look at the dig occasionally. It might be nice if the web site also included a blog talking about what they are uncovering. (I understand if security reasons preclude this, but it would be nice). Obviously, the blogger would need to be aware that some hostile eyes would be reading his/her words. Sensitivity would need to be shown. Most of the viewers are probably people with an interest in archaeology, rather than lunatics who suspect Israel of misbehavior. The latter don't waste time on facts anyway. In this sense, the webcam is useful as a demonstration of Israel's careful and highly professional approach to archaeology. The people who are yelling and screaming that this dig is a crime (etc.) don't WANT to know the truth. What they WANT is to work themselves into a spitting rage over Israel; rage, after all, is cathartic. They want to feel that they are generally persecuted by the Jews and Americans and that their lousy lives and their screwed-up countries are someone else's fault.
7. Next Year in Jerusalem ?
Survivor's Child ,   Europe   (03.07.07)
The Christian West is fully aware of the Temple Mount's History. As I understand it you prayed "Next Year in Jerusalem" for 2000 years. Olmert and the Self-Hating Left care nothing for the prayers of their fore-fathers. Olmert scoffs at his religion in the Knesset !
8. Translate the site into Arabic and Farsi
Suzanne   (03.07.07)
9. This website is BLOCKED by Arab countries!
Julia ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (03.07.07)
People from many Arab countries simply can't see this footage as it's place on an Israeli site! All websites ending with co.il or org.il are blocked by internet providers in many (most?) Arab countries. Some know how do cheat the system but not all. And not all will dare to do this. This has to be taken into account, and it would be best to move the video to some other site which the Arabs would be able to access.
