31. # 20 - That is exactly the problem
Shoshana   (03.15.07)
It matters little that Israel has these weapons in the present situation because Olmert and whoever know that the second they give the command to attack, there will be massive world reverb. G-d forbid Israel attacks the poor, defenseless Palestinians who want nothing more than to die while killing Israelis. Of course, Israel is just so popular with the world right now, why risk upsetting it, and ruining that, right?
32. #20 NO!! Use Bunker Busters FIRST. THEN Use The Clusters.
(03.15.07)
And a hell of of a lot of them. Oh what the Hell. You've got Olmert. I can't believe that he hasn't surrendered Jerusalem already. Is Olmert a French name?
33. kadima? more like achora!
harel ,   fl   (03.15.07)
brothers and sisters, save whats left of our nation before olmert and the traveling peretz puppet show destroy it for good! the most important war of all should be the war against this rotting government. we will suffer the fate of our own inaction: vote them out!

Apartheid ,   Boston USA   (03.15.07)
West Bank, an Israeli is in no position to accuse the Palestinians of "always taking"

your blood-lust. you are not ready for the real world.
36. #28 Dudu: Israel's political hacks aren't that smart.
Yacov ,   Ashkelon   (03.15.07)
You are right, but most of Israel's political hacks aren't that smart. They would rather pull out of Gaza and southern Lebanon, provide a hudna for the Arab Muslims to organize terrorist groups, missiles, bunkers, etc., then send in IDF troops to get their guts blown out. The secular political hacks watch safely from their offices in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem while Jewish soldiers die.
37. When are you all going to figure out that the use of overwhe
Apartheid ,   Boston USA   (03.15.07)
overwhelming force only empowers fanatics. Your mighty IDF virtually created Hezbollah and Hamas. The US has created legions of terrorists in Iraq where there were none before. Only fanatics can stand up to overwhelming force backed by a ravaged population consumed by hatred for the aggressor. How different things could have been if Israel pursued a policy of proportional response.
38. In case of war in Gaza....try artillery
daniel ,   Amsterdam   (03.15.07)
It really works
39. 34 - settlers are tepid, especially compared to terrorists
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (03.15.07)
the settlers of gaza didn't blow themselves up when they were made to leave. they didn't lob rockets and mortars. they didn't tunnel to perpretrate suicide attacks or kidnapping. moral equivalence doesn't work when comparing settlers to terrorists. there is no comparison.
40. #37 Apartheid: Like "proportional response" against Indians
Yacov ,   Ashkelon   (03.15.07)
So when are you giving Boston back to the Native American Indians? Like the U.S.A. used "proportional response" in the ethnic cleansing and mass extermination of Native American Indians? You hypocrites never want to practice what you preach.
41. #5 and #18 are wise people Olmert is a big zero..
Batia ,   Tel-Aviv   (03.15.07)
Reuven Brauner for Prime Minister
42. 40 US treatment of the Indians a model for Israel to follow?
Apartheid ,   Boston USA   (03.15.07)
So you have decided to use the US treatment of the Indians as a model for your treatment of the Palestinians. Admirable
43. Yes Aparheid, with a little moderation it's not a bad model
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (03.16.07)
The only problem with the U.S. model was that at times there were trully racist peopole in charge of local dealings with the Indians and the central government wasn't able to control them. Many Indians died as a result of armed revolts against the US or during reprisal operations for Indian raids, and if the generals at the front had been chosen a little better, fewer indian civilians would have been killed, and still fewer would have been killed if the Indians had accepted U.S. aid in relocating (for example the Cherokee refused US government offers of food and transportation when they were evacuted, thus leading to the many deaths on the Trail of Tears. Also keep in mind that while an argument in favor of Indian claims much of the Modern US can be made (unlike Palestinian claims to Israeli land) if the US had implemented your policies towards the indians it would have become in the best case senario a minor regional power, and in the worst case senario it would have wound up like Israel today, a small, besieged country at the mercy of its neigbors and the international community (which back then was much more apathetic than it is today).
44. 43 Daniel, Actually I think the Palestinians have a stronger
Apartheid ,   Boston USA   (03.16.07)
claim than the Indians. They were run off their land only about 60 years ago. Unlike the Indians each Palestinian owned a specified piece of land, documented and indicated on the plot maps that the Israeli government still holds onto in the hope of some day buying them off. Why do you think you can only lease land from the government? They are leasing you Palestinian land. Only about 7% of the real estate in the country was origionally owned by Jews. Many Palestinian refugees still carry the keys to their stolen homes hung around their necks like jewels.
45.  Apartheid they own 0% of the land, and it's their own fault
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (03.16.07)
The land that formed the Israel of 1948 was paid for in full by the zionists. It was paid to the British, who owned their colony of Palestine at the time, and if the Palestinians want compensation money from the British, they might have a right to it. As for the rest, they have ZERO claim to it. They lost that land because they used it to attack Israel not once but THREE TIMES. If they loved their land so much, why did they gamble it on Israel's destruction? Two reasons. First of all because their Soviet masters assured them there was no way they would lose, and second of all because they hated the Jews more than they loved their homes. I won't say that I don't pity the Palestinians, I do, and their fate is deplorable, but they have no one to blame but themselves, They would not have lost any of it i they hadn't attacked Israel in '48. And in '67 if instead of helping the Egyptions and Jordanians who occupied Gaza and the West Bank at the time attack Israel they would have revolted, They would have gotten to keep todays occupied territories for their own, and Israel would probably have allowed many to return to their old homes even theough they had no claim to them since they would have proven by their that they were no threat to the Jewish State
46. 45 Daniel, You are talking about sovereignty and even then
Aparteid ,   Boston MA   (03.16.07)
you are on shaky ground. I am talking about private property.
47. #45-do you think i can buy it back for from the British?
Larissa ,   Australia   (03.18.07)
What does a peice of land like that cost do you think? I think i can raise enough money to buy it back.
48. #28- some of that water comes from Lebanons Latani River
Larissa ,   Australia   (03.18.07)

Viewer ,   India   (01.01.09)
For the God sake, please stop this masacare on unarmed people. Israel is going to win nothing except piles of dead bodies of innocent people.
50. israel's war on gaza
vasudev akundi ,   visakhapatnam/ india   (01.04.09)
i wish indian leaders have the same nerve and political will to fight terrorism. those who talk of humanity should know that these islamic terrorists have no regards to these mundane terms of humanity / kindness. palestine and hamas in particular deserve what they are going through right now. also the statics show that in a 2 week conflict the casualities were only 400 odd. in the mumbai terror episode the muslims killed 200 people in a matter of 60 hrs. this means that israel is dealing with utmost restraint and targetting very precise targets unlike the hamas which is firing rockets randomly into the civilian population. hail israel. down with muslim terror
51. palestine
vasudev akundi ,   visakha & india   (01.04.09)
just hanging keys like jewels around their necks does'nt guarantee the title of ownership. kashmiri pandits have a more legitimate claim than palestine. they were driven out of their homes by muslims, their wives and daughters raped, properties looted. kashmiri pandits unlike palestine are living in refugee camps. israel is very benevolent to have let these terrorists stay on their land despite their ill will toward anything other than muslim.
