1. He should start with his own country, freaking hypocrite
Cynic ,   USA   (03.17.07)
2. Shouldn't be difficult Mr Mubarak....
Dan ,   Israel   (03.17.07)
since all the war-criminals from the 1967 war are located in Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Jordan.
3. But Starting The War Was Not A Crime.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.17.07)
How many times did Egypt attack us? How many terrorist attacks were launched from Egypt with the full support of their gov't? And now, with our seemingly worthless peace treaty - how many hostile resolutions at the UN has Egypt supported, how many overtly anti-Semitic articles appear in the Egyptian media, what effort have they made to stop arms smuggling into Gaza? And why the massive arms build-up? Who could the target possibly be? And now, 40 years after one of our many wars, they accuse US of war crimes. What a laugh. And get a load of the comments - Mubarak's concern for their fallen martyrs. That sounds sincere from the dictator that routinely arrests any opponants, any dissidents, where torture is an everyday event. Well, I have two words for the Egyptian pharoah: F@#k You. PS - in "democratic" Egypt, I would be put in jail for these comments.
4. War Criminals???
PE Haberman ,   Gan Yavneh, Israel   (03.17.07)
You report the following falsehood as fact: "The film in question suggested that soldiers of the Shaked Reconnaissance Unit, under the command of Binyamin Ben Eliezer, may have killed 250 Egyptian unarmed captives at the end of the Six-day war." The film suggests nothing of the sort. It suggests that the Shaked Unit may have used inappropriate force in wiping out a retreating Fedayiin unit that was still fighting. Its enough that OUR enemies report misinformation as fact, now OUR own news sources do it as well.
5. So he is turning over Egypt's Nazis?
Reality Check ,   BaGolan   (03.17.07)
6. YEAH!!!
David ,   ISRAEL/USA   (03.17.07)

10. "PINKY" ISRAELI MEDIA - HELPING TO DESTROY THEIR OWN COUNTRY
Scott   (03.17.07)
11. They lied in the mean time to the american friends !
(03.17.07)
In 1967 on the fourth day of the Six Day War, the armed forces of Israel attacked the American intelligence ship USS Liberty for 90 minutes in international waters in broad daylight following several hours of close, low-level reconnaissance. Thirty-four men died, 171 were hurt, and the ship was so badly damaged that it had to be scrapped. The government of Israel has lied about the circumstances ever since, telling a story markedly different from that told by American survivors. Congress has refused to question Israel's demonstrably false account, even though the State Department's own analysis finds the Israeli story to be untrue. http://www.ussliberty.org/
12. in 1973, big difference
(03.17.07)
One pilot named Lieutenant Mohamed Adoub shot down a Phantom, but his MiG was so close to the exploding enemy that it was damaged. Both the Israeli and Mohamed ejected close to each other. The farmers on the ground almost killed the Israeli pilot, but Mohamed saved him – the Israeli went to hospital and survived. In fact the Phantom pilot had a visitor the next day, it was Mohamed Adoub. http://www.acig.org/artman/publish/article_266.shtml
13. Yeah Right ! Like we care about Egyptian President Hosni Mub
ben ,   singapore   (03.17.07)
arak and his threat ! Old News !
14. Hey Mubarak, are you running out of Egyptian war criminals?
Chanan ,   USA   (03.17.07)
Mubarak, we are still waiting for you to find and punish the perpetrators of the 2001 murder of 21 unarmed Copts in the village of Al-Kosheh, Egypt. Now what about the criminals who massacred 27 Black Africans from Sudan a little more than year ago in Cairo? Are you even looking for them, among your Police and Army Generals?
15. hard to believe they attacked uss liberty
haim ,   mtl canada   (03.17.07)
but next time dont spy on ur friends accidents happen
16. empty mid-east if everybody judged
shimon ,   madrid   (03.17.07)
they won't do anything just because if someone wanted to punish all people that commited war crimes in the mideast, this region of the world would just become empty of politicians, mainly in the arab countries...the difference is that some of us commited crimes during the war, while arab leaders are commiting them daily - terrorism, political police, tortures and more. so, as nº1 says, they'd better start with themselves
17. great! so when will they start to punish hamas?
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (03.17.07)
not to mention those responsible for their own war-time crimes.
18. Mubarak is a complete hypocrite.
Gary A. MD ,   Boston USA   (03.17.07)
Let me get this straight Mubarak. Egypt is trying to destroy Israel and kill all the Jews in the 1950's & 1960's. Israel defends itself, wipes out your army of murderers, and now you're upset. We'll too bad. And one more thing peace loving Mubarak, why does your secret police murder ANYONE who speaks out against your totalitarian regime. Does that upset you too. And one more thing Mubarak, how did you attain office, I cannot recall the last election. You're just like Stalin.
19. BottomLine:: Israeli documentary caused the stir. Face it !!
KMR ,   Middle East   (03.17.07)
20. #15 ur friends were spying "for" NOT "on" !
(03.17.07)
21. The fog of War
Simon ,   London, GB   (03.17.07)
Yesterday in Oxford in the UK, the conclusion of a inquest in to the death of a British Soldier in Iraq concluded that the death of the soldier was a criminal act carried out by an US airman. Should the airman be brought to trial in the UK. I guess not because many combatants are killed by friendly fire in the fog of war. What I fail to understand is what Israel would have to gain by attacking the USS Liberty during the 67 war if indeed it was not a mistake. I am some what saddend that the Egyptians have been given a perfect excuse by Israeli jounalists for increasing the belicose statements that began with the claim that Egypt would now like Eilat back as they have decided it should be Egyptian territory despite the so called peace agreement with Israel. Is Mubarak playing to the crowd? I am sure that it would be possible to provide instances from any War from any side as to incidents that may be described as attrocities, such as the carpet bombing of Dressden during WWII by the RAF. Perhaps the problem is we have all been brought up on a diet of Hollywood War movies and the real world isnt like that.
22. Bringing to trial those who commit human rights violations
mani ,   Leeds, UK   (03.17.07)
Yes its time to do this. We could start with the US gov for abducting people from the war zones, then the UK gov for allowing these abductees safe passage through the UK aiports and turning a blind eye then the are the countries that allow the US to undertake the toturing, these are Egypt and Jordan. To use a Christian saying "let him without sin cast the first stone"
23. war criminals? what the
Adi   (03.17.07)
hell are you talking about Mr. Mubarak? did you look at yourself in the mirror this morning? i don't think so.....
24. Israeli POW - Where are they?
Hinda Blas ,   San Francisco, CAlif   (03.17.07)
How many Israeli POWs have been murdered/tortured by the "nice" Egyptians? How come Mubarek is silence over this? Why isn't it coming out that most of the footage in that "documentary" are not of Israeli soldiers torturing the POWs that were Egyptian but Egyptians dressed as Israelis soldiers doing the unthinkable to their fellow comrades. But no one is bringing that up. Even the BBC had commented on the Egyptians dressed as Israeli soldiers in their 1960s newsreels. Where are the scholars to prove this claim?!!! Why hasn't the BBC released their newsreels to the questioning public? AND WHY IS ISRAEL ALLOWING THIS LIE BEING SHOWN AS TRUTH? WHERE IS THE ISRAEL OF GOLDA MEIR? WE NEED HER!!!!
25. First mubarak will need to find a judge...
Jerred   (03.17.07)
Yeah right! And who will judge these "war criminals"? Probably a honest, independent egyptian tribunal…if you can find it… Hi Hi Hi !
26.  USS Liberty
Roy Galut ,   Selah Washington USA   (03.17.07)
Quote : What I fail to understand is what Israel would have to gain by attacking the USS Liberty during the 67 war if indeed it was not a mistake. =============== A Friend of mines was stationed on a sister ship to the Liberty ...... apparently what the Israelis were trying to do was take out the antenna systems and the Communications Space on the Liberty to prevent Information getting to those they were attacking ...The liberty was asked to leave the area.....but it had engine problems....
27. Fog and bitterness of war.....
Roy Galut ,   Selah Washington USA   (03.17.07)
can bring out the worst in even the best of us.....However ... if the charges are proven true then he needs to be held accountable... even one of Israel most beloved ancient Kings (David) was held accountable for Murder and adultey by G-d ....
28. Yeh it should be pretty easy for an Egyptian to do that...
Mustafa ,   Canada   (03.17.07)
Since Israel is pretty close to Egypt, and all war criminals live in Israel it shouldn't be that hard to locate them and bring them to justice. Not only war criminals that participated in the 1967 war, but the ones that are committing war crimes now, but then again if he did that, half of Israel would be brough to justice :D
29. Response to #23
Mustafa ,   Canada   (03.17.07)
So you're saying he's ugly?!! LMAO.
30. Astonishing
Faraz ,   Meldreth, UK   (03.17.07)
What amazes me is that onbody who has supplied comments to talkback is bothered about justice. Nobody seems to care about whether these incidents took place, or has called for an investigation. All there is is finger pointing and laying blame - what a shame, how childish....
