my friend, before you try to get into the politics, i highly recommend you seek few sessions of psychotherapy, that is where you gain some satisfaction, and i tell you where is the source of problem, not receiving enough "love" between ten months and three years old. by the way for your information i am a professional medical doctor. i wish you best, sincerely.
33. And on what do you base this assumption?
Tracy W   (03.21.07)
You write "If the Israelis impose a unilateral compromise on the Palestinians that is genuinely fair, most Palestinians will turn away from the religious fanatics and embrace the compromise as an inevitability of their tragedy." Let's face it Ray, how are the "moderate" Palestinians going to face up to Jihadist gangs when they can't even control their own safety in anywhere right now? And are there any "moderates"? Several generations have been raised learning nothing but hate in their schools and homes. They are totally brainwashed. And why would Israel want to "impose" a compromise. Why would they repeat their Gaza mistake, only to be thanked by further violence and threats of annihilation. You know and we know that the "moderate" Palestinian dream is out of reach for ever. You are now being effectively occupied, colonized and oppressed by other forces, and I don't mean Israel. There are solutions but none of the Jew haters of this planet would go for them. The only thing they would settle for is the destruction of Israel. Too bad you allied yourself with them.

About Religion : Palastinian people r one people no matter what religion they believe whether Muslim, Christian , Judiasm or not beleving God, as Muslim Around the world we suport Palastinian People cause they r operesed people and it does not hurt some of them r our co-religionist : saying that is does not mean we wanna discrimate or harm the other palastinian who does not share with reliogion. Ray Knows that i as Muslim who r not arab when i go to any Arab Country, the Arab christian r treated better than non Arab Muslims although the country is prodomintly Muslims so strugle of Palastian is not about religion and any body who wanna take that route is not looking the interest of Palistinian People. 36. Mikael is about as Jewish as David Duke!
Palestiniansareamyth ,   USA   (03.21.07)
Many anti-Israel groups are telling their members to pose as Jews and write anti-Israeli comments on different websites. Don't believe them. It's all a plan to make it seem that's there are tons of Jews who are against Israel. Mikael has probably never met a Jew!
37. Hanania: Blame the Jews. This has worked for centuries.
Bennie ,   Jerusalem   (03.21.07)
Hanania uses the same old tactic used by the Xian Popes, Czars and Monarchs for centuries---blame the Jews. Black Plague? Blame the Jews. Xians cause economic problems? Blame the Jews. Monarchs bleed the peasants and cause starvation? Blame the Jews. Radical Catholic Popes oppress and masses? Blame the Jews. Radical Muslims causing mayhem around the world? Blame the Jews. Blaming the Jews has always worked before. Muslims just following history in blaming the Jews for their own Muslim psychopathology and social disasters.

39. Israel and #32
Mikael ,   Bellingham, WA.   (03.21.07)
I am a psychotherapist, sweetie. Megalomania and narcissism are not good character traits, especially for nations. Projection as a favored national defense is equally unworthy of a state that calls itself the "Jewish Homeland." Jewish? Only with regard to lox and bagels and obsessive-compulsive rituals, like killing Palestinians and Arabs. Your M.D., doctor, gives you the right to be a protocologist, not a psychiatrist. Please save your pretentious banter for those who mindlessly worship authority; in your case, it deserves more than a fair measure of contempt, as does Israel's pretense of being a state with even a modicum or moral self-awareness. In the land of honey, the Shadow rules. I suspect its reign shall be brief.
40. Reponse to #23 and #32
Mikael ,   Bellingham, WA. USA   (03.21.07)
More paranoia, babies. No, this isn't about self-hatred nor pretense on my part. I am Jewish, and this isn't about hating Jews. The phrase, "Hear O, Israel..." implies fealty to a single Being, not a bifurcated, highly cerebralized and necessarily paranoid mode of consciousness such as has evolved amongst my people. I am, quite frankly, not even against Zionism, as long as we share the land and share the love that, let me remind you, is said to come, in the form of blessings (Chesed) from that single Source. Instead, Israel has managed to build its entire existential scaffolding on the basis of fear, hatred and racism. As a non-Nazi German might feel growing up in Hitler's Reich, it shames me, it shames all Jews. The vicious cycle set in motion can have only one end. Let it come soon.

israelis rejected king hussein, the most moderate in the early 70 when he was the legal guardian of West bank, so they ended up with arafat whom they ended up shunning cause he refused their crumbs, so they ended up with hamas, now they're refusing hamas, next they'll have alqaida.....good luck
44. Romantic and Racist Pipe Dreams (response to 41)
Mikael ,   Bellingham, WA.   (03.21.07)
That might be said to apply equally to the romantic pipe dreams of a certain Middle Eastern state that endeavored to last a thousand years. It has steeped itself in bitterness to the point of homicidal madness, no less so than its brethren in the region. Truly, it does not seem to care if it takes the rest of the world down with it. Whether than will be allowed to happen is a crap shoot, but my bet is that the cycle will complete itself. In that case, it won't be Hezbollah or Hamas that destroy this very isolated nation state, but its own recklessness.
45. Hanania, you're a little too late
mko ,   USA   (03.22.07)
There are not enough secular or moderate Muslims left to negotiate with. There are only fanatics and semi-fanatics. The few moderate Muslims all have fatwas on their heads.

47. Mikael more like George Soros without the money than David
Stewart ,   USA   (03.29.07)
Duke. Sorros, the former Jewish Nazi collaborator (60 minutes) sided with the agressor to save himeself. Then he thinks if he shed's Jewishness, he can gain acceptance as someone he was only born Jewish not of his choosing. Well, it never works. Besides, not having any balance or perspective only gets you temporary approval of those of the same or those who want to use you. It doesn't last very long. Better to get some perspective and mature. As Churchill said, " ... and if your not a conservative by 40-50, you have no brain."

Frank Adam ,   Prestwich, UK   (04.01.07)
When somebody is secular it is relative - just look at who calls themselves secular Israelis. One day the religious Arabs will wake up and find that Israel has bit by bit screwed down all access & supply including: food and fuel as well as power and water. The pity is tha tinternational interference did /does not allow this to happen quickly which would knock the spots off those who think the Lord will rain manna on them.

51. Oh, so a bleeding heart is preferable to a rational mind? T
Stewart ,   USA   (04.03.07)
rue kindness comes from the mind, not the heart. Many people have been harmed or killed due to your kind of kindness. To bad you can't even deal with Sorros's past without an erudite attack. Churchill was exactly right, and will be for a long time. Oh, I'd love to see the REAL context of your qoute, AND try having been a Jew in Sorros's town while he was there. I'm sure you'd be a fond admirer today. Fair minded Americans stopped him from buying out last election, and they always will.

54. 53 -- whoever -- You're great at ...
Stewart ,   USA   (04.05.07)
qouting a bit from context and without perspective. Education and wisdom are two different things. I suggest you speak Talmud to a radical Islamic Palestinian raised on hate and the denial of you life and existance. See if you turn him into a friend, or if he sends you fleeing to hide behind that proverbial rock or tree the Qouran speaks of chasing the Jews behind before they beat them or behead them. Non of my rational Muslims friends ever entertained the idea that God had anything to do with these parts of the Quoran. THE ENEMY HAS TO BE RATIONALE BEFORE YOU CAN EVEN BEGIN TO NEGOTIATE OR BEFRIEND. THE MUSLIMS HAVE A RELIGIOUS WORD FOR JUSTIFYING LIES TO ADVANCE A MUSLIM AGENDA. SO GO CONVINCE A PSYCHOPATHIC LIAR. SEE HOW FAR YOU GET. WHY DON'T YOU GO FIND WHERE IT TALKS ABOUT COMMON SENSE IN THE TALMUD. GO LOOK IN THE TORAH ABOUT THOSE LIKE AMALEK. OH, YEAH REAL POTENTIAL FOR FRIENDS THERE. Even Ray recognizes the intrangedent (?) position of the radicals overtaking the rational Palestinians (if they all aren't over here by now). If you can't put your name, at least an alias. You're already got the style down for the drive by media.
55. Its been a religious war for many years now
daniel ,   amsterdam   (04.05.07)
Radical Islam has stood in the way of peace for many years. All that is happening now is that it cannot be denied, as Rabin and Peres tried to deny it. This had catastrophic results for both Israel and the Palestinians. Peace can only be achieved with those who want it.
56. Stewart ... and so what is the context?
Whoever ,   World   (04.06.07)
Perhaps if Israel had tried to befriend the Palestinians decades ago, rather than terrorizing them, the Palestinians wouldn't have become so radicalized. The occupation has been cruel and torture has a nasty habit of changing people and often for the worse. The bigger the enemy is perceived to be, the more mighty the one who makes a friend of that enemy! You... and the I say, the aggressor is a bully! It's not a fair fight. Such injustice is deplorable and all people in the world should raise their voices against it..... or be complicit in heinous crimes against humanity.
57. Whoever ... Putting words in my mouth now? You and I say ..
Stewart ,   USA   (04.06.07)
Getting dellusional? Do you even read what I wrote and answer it dirrectly. Do you know anything about previous Israeli and Muslim relationships? The average ones where pretty good. The rest a disaster. You talk about these people as if they exist apart from their corrupt government and crazy radicals they practically turned to. Oh the good Palestinians may not be the radicals, but they practically invited them in. Now they are owned by them. Same thing the Germans did when they accepted the Nazi's. Do words mean anything is this region? Ever look at the history. Who the heck are the Israeli's suppose to negotiate with that would make any difference. The moderate Arab nations are stuck on the margins. You better get a big towel to absorb all the individual guilt you tend to collectivize rather than focusing on the problem. I'm sure when you see a soldier, policeman or two commit an offense, you need to appologize for the whole army or department. Abu Grab must have been committed by the whole American Army, every one of them, and not the individual misfits. I suggest if you want the Army of police to be comprised of all saints, you go out and find them and see how long they all remain saints. If 80% -- 90% keep civil under the circumstances and considering their youth, it's an acheivement. Even Moses hit the rock when he finally "had it". The Palestinians have always shown such enormus restraint. Right. Nothing they ever do would push anyone over the edge. And besides where's the money from the internation community that could have given them a prosperous state? Well Arafat wouldn't take 90% of what he bargined for. Didn't matter that there were all sort of business deals ready to go between Arabs and Jews. This is what happens when you have to deal with the father of practically every terrorist group of the later 20th century. OH THESE GUY'S WERE REAL SERIOUS ABOUT WORKING SOMETHING OUT. The context is the rest of the Torah and the Talmud that you see to ignore. It says alot about defending ones self when persued, AND NO ONE IS GOING TO DO IT PERFECT. May better with other leaders. I suggest the next time you are witnessing on of these GAZILLION Israeli attrocities you claim, you don't get to fixated. You could get hit by a Kasam. Meanwhile, spend some time and money trying to help bring in a government that will do something more about the aberations rather than rant about the imaginary gazillion attrocities only appearrent in your myopic vision. Over time they can work out and compenstate fairly for those that did occur. You think the Jew's will ever get the same? See if you can convince some Arabs and Muslims of their responsibility in all this. Gee wiz, they get some land, and they still can't build a civil country without putting all their energy into terrorizing their neighbors. Wow, it's all the Israeli's fault. Boy do you have the answer.
58. about Whoever, Whatever, Whereever
Lone voice ,   in the wilderness   (04.06.07)
In dwelling, live close to the ground. In thinking, keep to the simple. In conflict, be fair and generous. In governing, don't try to control. In work, do what you enjoy. In family life, be completely present. -- Tao Te Ching

60. Do us a favor Ray..................
NS ,   Long Island, NY   (04.09.07)
Ray if you are having a problem being a Christian Palestinian who is a secularist don't blame the Jews for your problems. Your people have not stood up against the Palestinian Moslems for over sixty years. That is why there are more Palestinian Christians living outside of "Palestine" than in. That is why Christians in Nazareth are being pushed around by the Moslems. This is an internal Palestinian problem! Deal with it! As for the so-called Jew Mikael; listen up! you are a hateful piece of slime who if he is a Jew really doesn't get the whole Jewish experience which is why you have exiled yourself to the isolated Pacific Northwest. Do yourself a favor; take up a hobby in which you can channel your anger and self hatred.
