Golda ,   Israel   (03.24.07)
Than they hate the Jews. Arabs will never love their children more than they hate the Jews. There will never be peace!
34. Directors are opposed to a Jewish State
Ruth K. ,   USA   (03.24.07)
In Diane E. Davis' Jerusalem/Al-Quds 2050: Vision for a Place of Peace, Jan. 2005, she cites Tony Judt, "... a `Jewish state’ -- a state in which Jews and the Jewish religion have exclusive privileges from which non-Jewish citizens are forever excluded..." Co-director Leila Farsakh wrote "Israel: A Racist Apartheid State" (Opinion Editorials, Dec. 2003 www.aljazeerah.info). The title says it all.
35. To scrooge. That will be no 15
Y ,   N   (03.24.07)
First i did not say that USA should cut its ties to Saudi arabia but the western states should put a lot of mony into research so that we one day dont need oil. The sooner the better. And the sooner the west cut its ties with the arab world the better it will be for the western states. When it comes to israeli membership in the Eu i want to remind you that Turkey have been negotiating for some time to join. Im sure that the EU rather would have Israel with its economic growth and democratic system as a member instead of Turkey. One other problem with Turkey is also the religious part. There has been some talk about Israel joining Nato lately and if they get into Nato then a EU membership wouldnt be unrealistic. But off course it would take som time for this to happen. But you can be sure of one thing. Israel will be a member of Nato and the EU 100 years before any arab state is even considered as a member.

What democrazy? In a state like you suggest there will be an arab majority. Arabs have no democratic tradition. Your plan is doomed.

38. Hebron
Fares ,   cleveland   (03.24.07)
the israelis mentality is very clear in hebron ..on a smaller scale .. try to solve the problem of those 400 armed manic depressive settlers in hebron who are creating tension in the whole region .. so ..let us start with the problem on a smaller scale and test the water ./. conclusion .....there will never be peace there with the current israelis mentality ...they are the biggest losers in this anyway .
39. #23 YOU STILL HERE LARISSA? AFTER YOUR COMPLETE DEBUNKING

So, after having all your assertions blown sky high elsewhere in the forum - your now moving on to chastising other commenters about their justifiable cynicism and amusement towards a stunt like this? LOL! :-)

no buddy, that's why in a democracy a "bill of rights" can be agreed upon which usually is found to protect a minority from the tyranny of the majority in any western democracy. Besides jews will not be truely a small minority even if all pals where let in......their #s may be less but not quite a minority. Also think of how many more jews will come to live if a true democracy (for all not jews only). Most of all there IS room, when i fly accorss israel coming to land in jordan, i pass by vast acres of lands that are just empty and can accomodate all. If nyc can fit 8 million on a small island, we certainly can fit 10 on a much bigger country especially if 10% of $$ spent on the conflict was spent on developement. Think of the trillions wasted by all mideast since 48 on this conflict. A fraction can do miracles & pal/isrl can thrive & trade and prosper, exist as a model with israeli technology combined with pals persverence and intellect, it would beat any economy. Hamas can be easily controlled, Arafat clipped their wings when he wanted and u know it. Population control can be agreed upon in advance to avoid tripping on other's liberties/rights, so many creative solutions similar to the Beneloux states in europe and other models...... BUT NO, CAUSE U WANT IT TO BE A JEWISH MAJORITY!!! sit back and enjoy the conflict.......

MIT can invent a car that does not run on fossil fuel, then this whole ME problem would be solved. As long as we depend on the ME countries for black gold, we will forever be blackmailed. So, MIT students, don't waste your time solving this age old problem.

"arabs have no democratic tradition"? jews existed in the arab empires and some where ministers in the abbaside era and even in spain, where the inquisition took place against jews after arabs rule fell apart. As for "jewish traditions of democracy" if this is the measure of ur democracy i'll take the above statement as a compliment.

It is not for an outsider to determine what is to happen to the Jewish, united capital of of the sovereign State of Israel., recognized as such by International Law. What the world community must do for ANY Peace amongst nations in the future is to insist that these terrorists and their supporters are held accountable and nations are in compliance with International Law, and cease giving legitimacy to breaking the laws, treaties and agreements to which all legitimate governments subscribe. Otherwise, the dismantling of Western Civilization will continue. None other than the martyred Rabin said after 2000 years the Jews have finally reunited their capitol of Jerusalem, and it will never be divided again. That's it, and if the Arabs/ Muslims don't like it, they should be denied access until they accept International Law. When a country threatens the sovereignty of another ,they make themselves vulnerable and every other established and accepted capitol and border. If the Arabs insist on the division, then, Medina must come into play. Then, the Right of Return for all of the Jews expelled from the Arab/Muslim countries along with restitution must be granted, originally numbering almost a million , and Hebron, Jericho, Bethlehem, Nazareth, and Gaza should all be brought back under Israel's aegis. The Oslo Accords have never been followed by the Arab Palestinians. Thus, what Israel conceded can be retrieved, or used as leverage for compliance to be realized on the part of the Palestinians. Return all of the land in the thousands of towns and cities across Western and Eastern Europe and Russia confiscated from the Jews, and give the families of the millions upon millions murdered by one regime after another in just the last 515 years compensation. Soros should be indicted by the countries to which he has caused immeasurable harm and pain to the people and to their markets for his devastation of their markets. The Ford Foundation's dubious affiliations have been proven in the JTA investigation of two years ago, while Ford Motor Co. is being investigated by the SEC for its business in the Sudan, Syria, and Iran. Dennis Ross should get a real job and cease insinuating himself where he has no standing in trying to regain it. Shut down others by insisting they are of no account, because they aren't. If they want to participate ,let them run for office and pay the dues to have any standing. Beilin and his band of beggars and thieves should be tried for treason. Until Israel puts its sovereign gauntlet down, so to speak, the world will use it as a diversion from looking at the realities causing the demise of their own countries. Israel can present these problems to their leaders, who take our money for caviar and champaign lifestyles , perpetuating the Arab/Israeli conflict affords them- not to mention the profits from arms sales. Besides, the greatest mind in this field of conflict resolution resides in Israel. If anyone at MIT has any 'saikel', and solid knowledge, and is interested in truly learning what can be done to resolve these problems, then, invite Professor Aumann to speak. Those at MIT, might learn something about how to formulate methodologies when dealing with real human lives , and applying them. The lives of 6 million Jews are not a subject for pedantic games. How about designing a Reformation for Islam? That concerns a billion people. What power!

49. to 44- on democracy vs theocracy(isrl)
marwan   (03.25.07)
democracy means the rule of ppl GENERALLY based on 3 princples all of which exist in palastinian authority even though in relative degrees, which is also same for ISRAEL.... 1)separation/independance of powers, executive, legistlative and judicial-many cases showed in israel influence of executive on judicial such as the "shacking" or torture of prisoners, all cases involving confiscations of 48 land even though it's starkingly obvious that if those land owners were jewish, verdicts lean to them. 2)power comes directly from ppl again through elections existing in PA 3) Bill of rights to protect minorities thorugh principles like separation of religion, may not be perfect in PA but certainly it's worse in ISRL; what does it mean that as a jew, u'd automatically get citizenship the minute u land in ben-gorian airport while if u were a family member of arab 48 separated from family, u CANNOT?, that u cannot buy land as an arab in many areas in israel? .that the kids of a mixed marriage are considered jewish only if their mom is so while if their dad is they're not. U don't even have a definition of what a jew is beyond what ur rabbis say, is this not a theocracy? Many USA historians concede the democracy was faulty until they asserted the rights of women & freed blacks to vote & stopped their oppression. U simply cannot have a "democracy" while oppressing other groups even if under the excuse of a conflict. We all know how the UK was about to conform to a police state under excuse of IRA attacks (like isrl now) in the 70 untill ppl clipped their wings after the nuttinghill massacre....etc. what u have in west bank & J'elem is apartheid which is an oxymoron to democracy if u like it or not even though if u go by criteria point by point & u were HONEST, u'd agree. considering the harsh conditions pals endured under ur occupn & resisted a full blown civil war, any honest judge would give them higher marks on democracy than israel.
