1. Iran acted as they said they would!
USA detained 5 Iranian "diplomats" INn Ira early this year. THey have not released them. They promised they will release them by the time for Iranian new year(March 21). They failed to do that and in turn escalated by kidnapping Iranian generals. Iran said last week they can do the same thing and apparently they meant it.
The ball is in the USA's court now, release the Iranians to get the British.
High stake geopolitics at it's best :)
