jason white ,   afula,israel   (03.24.07)
The reform care more about goyim than they do about Jews.I am not religious, but I do not regard the reform movement as fellow Jews.No more than the hara-dim. Would the moslems let a Jew speak in their mosque or even enter one? No.
13. Arab Minister visits Synagogue
Yaakov ,   USA   (03.24.07)
No yarmulkas in the synagogue? Do they also have a crucifix hanging on the wall? What an arrogant MAN this arab minister is! Talk about being uneducated and uncultured with no idea where he is! Someone please tell this fool he is in the Jewish State of Israel, not some backward arab dictatorship, where he really belongs.. I cannot imagine a common man, let alone a politician who would defiantly refuse to don a kippa when entering an American, European, or Latin American synagogue, seder, etc. , giving the excuse he's a Christian and not Jewish. If that congregation had any self respect, they'd have walked out in protest, and left the idiot standing there alone. Imagine the treatment a non muslim would get charging into a mosque with shoes on! Leave it to Olmert to elevate such scum to the level of a minister in his cabinet.
14. beit daniel is a joke...
Andre ,   Perth (ex-TLV)   (03.24.07)
I'm sorry. I'm 3rd gen conservative, happy with that. However, WTF is a synagogue were people does not kipot? If he doesn't want to wear the kippa, than tell him not to enter in the synagogue. If his speech is what matters, he can do it outside the synagogue. Even the John Paul II displayed more respect for us than this "israeli". BTW, try to enter with bermudas into a catholic church in South America... there is a difference between receiving a guest and being disrespected by a guest. I do not offer alcohol to my muslim friends... This minister should be sent home...
15. wearing kippa ?
Jacob ,   Munich   (03.24.07)
one: i´m glad that he went there two: if a non jew visits a mosque , he´s supposed to take his shoes off ! and i`m sure it´s being done without hesitation. He should think about it.
16. To #9
Noah ,   New York, NY   (03.24.07)
No Harry, not only in Israel. In any country that is a free country, where people are not coerced by their government to salute flags, recite anthems, or utter pledges. Like this country, for example, where some Orthodox Jews I know do not salute the flag because they consider it idolatry. You're free to agree or disagree with them, but the government respects their right to do as they please. As it should in Israel.
17. Now you know why Reform hated by Jews
Emmy ,   LA, USA   (03.24.07)
A bunch of racists in this Reform organization.

19. Message or tolerance and coexistance..
Rami ,   Nazareth, Israel   (03.24.07)
The most important part is that he bring a message or tolerance and coexitance. However, I do think that out of respect he should have worn a yamaka, just like muslims expect all women (including non muslims) to cover their hair when entering a mosque.

25. kipa
Rosa van der Wieken ,   amsterdam   (10.01.07)
do we also have the option not to wear a head scarf or have bare arms when we visit a mosque as I am not a muslim.?? We would find this a lack of respect. I think the community did right not to refuse tha arab minister, but I seriously doubt both his intelligence and good will. In any other case we would just call this respectless.
