3. He met w/ terrorists' parents & meditated at Arafat's grave

During his visit Ban met with the parents of PA Arabs serving time in Israeli prisons for involvement in terrorist activity. The secretary-general also visited the grave of Yassir Arafat in Ramallah Sunday. He laid a wreath of white flowers on the site before closing his eyes in meditation. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/121948

5. VIPs such as this guy should be required
Tracy W   (03.26.07)
to see how the expelled Jews are living in third-world conditions these days. And they should also be required to visit Sderot and all the Jewish communities that live under attack and harassment. After the experience with the German bishops and this UN Sec Gen, no VIP should be spared the sight of real Jewish suffering in Israel, including meetings with grieving Jewish families.

7. UN Sec-Gen
Brod ,   USA   (03.26.07)
The UN Sec-Gen should not be traveling at all especially to dangerous places. He should be planning how to get the world to vanquish the barbaric regimes of Sudan and Iran.
8. Stop blaming the UN, it's not their fault
Daniel ,   Formerly Israel   (03.26.07)
The UN is simply a political stage, and just like any political stage, the countries that wield influence there are the ones that are willing to display and use their political muscle, and the UN will always be anti-western so long as the west refuses to exert tremendous pressure there. Given the nature of its organizers and its charters, however, it is impossible, by any political means to make it a pro-western organization, but it is possible to make it irrelevant. Just look at Iran; even if it had no allies on the security council, the UN would stil not be able to do anything against it, because the UN is not a source of clout, it is simply source of talk, and the only way it gets any leverage on any one country is if that country allows it to do so. Ignore the UN, and it will not be able to hurt you.
10. Orly Azoulay underestimates people which is dangerous !
redkmike ,   tel aviv and london   (03.26.07)
From what I've seen and heard Ban Ki-moon will be an excellent replacement for the corruput Kof (monkey in Hebrew). Let's give him a chance and not attack him before even giving him time to get acquainted - like he did during his chopper flight today. People are not so dumb as Orly Azoulay would like to assume. Many nations, like the Chinese and Japanese etc are very polite but not at all weak. MIke
