1. Israel never wants peace
Bilal ,   Leeds, UK   (03.29.07)
Israel is bent on accquiring more land for its racist settlers. All their policies are geared towards ethnically cleansing Palestinians. This peace initiative is the best chance they will get of leaving in peace. Think of it, Palestinian state living side by side with Israel - no bombs, no deaths just peace. Israel, you owe Palestinians their land because whatever you might say you stole it from them. Let them return and then and only then will true peace prevail
2. This is nuts
J K ,   NYC, USA   (03.29.07)
Peace? Who are they kidding. They are presenting Israel with a laundry list of perceived grievences telling Israel they better give them the moon or else. "Give me everything or we'll kill you." What's in it for Israel? they have tangible assets now that they are being asked to vacate for some nebulous promise that if they do, perhaps maybe they can be peace. What tangible steps have the Arabs taken? Most of them dont even have diplomatic relations with Israel, Israelis cant set foot in their country, own property, etc etc. This is BS and I wish the world would see it for what it is.
3. Typical mafia thug mentality
Chatich   (03.29.07)
Abbas the 'moderate' says "do what we tell you or else there will be violence". Is there a single human being anywhere in the PA? Geez Mahmood, thanks so much for your outstretched "hand of peace". This deal, like anything else ever offered up by arabs, is rediculously one-sided and engineered to hasten the destruction of the state of Israel. This whole "right of return" fabrication is a non-starter. Israel shouldn't even bother talking to these lying sacks of garbage anyway - they have yet to honor a single agreement they've ever made. Their word has NO VALUE. You can polish a turd, prop it up and dress it in an Armani suit, but at the end of the day it still smells like what it is - a big festering lump of feces.
4. As if
Jonno ,   Oz   (03.29.07)
anmti Israel violence has ever stopped.
5. "might"?!?!?!
David ,   Rehovot   (03.29.07)
so daily rocket fire, snipers, road side bombs and an Israeli kidnapped and help incommunicado by the Pal's ruling party isn't "violence"? The Pals began the war unconditionally, they can end it the same way.
6. Is this the same Abbas that Israel wants to "protect"???????
David E. ,   Jerusalem   (03.29.07)
When will Israel learn that Arabs stay Arabs? Just like you cannot change the stripes of a tiger, you cannot change the mentality of Arabs - even Abbas who's part of the terrorist gang - but with a suit.
7. That's what israel gets for trusting Abbas
robert ,   usa   (03.29.07)
And for allowing Olmert to sell Israel down the river. I love you Israeli's but you seem to be loosing it.
8. All we hear are threats of violence
Reality Check ,   BaGolan   (03.29.07)
9. Typical Jew Reaction
Jimmy Carter ,   Plains, GA   (03.29.07)
As always, it's all about them: the Jew demands for safety and security; the Jew demand for a real peace; the Jew demand for territorial integrity;the Jew demand for open relations. The list goes on and on. Who the hell do these Jews think they are? Abbas is right. Either the Hebes accept whatever the Arabs want unhindered, or unleash the dogs of terrorism against them. Hell..... Abbas can always count on the UN to back him up. In fact, if he brings this to the UN, it will give the UN an excuse not to address such issues as Darfur, Somalia, Haiti, and Pakistan!
10. I've been laughing since yesterday
Isragirl ,   Qiryat Yam, Israel   (03.29.07)
When they first announced that Arab nations got together and decided how the peace with Israel should look. This is what they call a democratic procedure - these are our unreasonable, self-serving, clearly detrimental for Israel conditions, and if you don't surrender to them, we gonna kill ya! Bad Israel for not agreeing to commit suicide. It's our own fault that we didn't loose and didn't run away the first time they attacked us in 1948, now they have to work so much harder for that...
11. typical language for a terrorist

12. Abbas issues violence and extortion
Brod ,   USA   (03.29.07)
Abbas is spewing the typical threats of Arab Islamist-Jihadists. Arabs have short memory. They think by threatening and attacking Israel they can get away with it. In the face of these challenges from the dark forces, Israel should remain strong and resolute in defeating the forces of evil. The latter is hellbent on the destruction of Israel as their Charter stipulates. Ergo, Israel has no choice but to preempt them and enforce its deterrence on the dark forces so that they will never again dare attack Israel.
13. Abbas can piss off!
(03.29.07)
What a nerve. Anyone would think he has the state of the art equipment, and F-16s. Let's us them first.
14. He Can Go To Hell.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (03.29.07)
I'll leave you all to guess what I think he should do with his "Peace Plan" .......
15. Sounds like Arab Mafia "protection racket" shakedown
Yakov ,   Ashkelon   (03.29.07)
Arabs: "Here are our terms. You will accept them or pay the price. " Typical Mafia shakedown racket.
16. Abbas = Arafat : Same Intifada Strategy
malcolm   (03.29.07)
17. "...slide into violence..." Is that a prophecy or a threat?
(03.29.07)
18. "slide into violence' Hamas (Abbas) trying maximum already !
redkmike ,   tel aviv and london   (03.29.07)
kind of boring Hamas stuff from Abbas who is now Hamas .. They would love to hit targets and have suicide bombers explode in Israel every day but Israel prevents them. There is no Hamas ceasefire and the lack of incidents in Israel are simply due to the IDF and police. This is all worn out PA rhetoric which no longer even effects the EU let alone the US. Yawn !
19. Please tell me he's kidding!
Abbas Bluster-buster ,   USA   (03.29.07)
As usual, the Arabs adopt a policy of "It's MY WAY or the HIGHWAY." When will they ever understand that you cannot negotiate a settlement if you leave the party you are supposed to be negotiating with out of the diplomatic conversation? Mob Boss Abbas is basically saying that he will "make the Israeli's an offer they can't refuse." Do they seriously think that because they reach an agreement amongst themselves to stop fighting each other that Israel then is required to give in to all their demands? Someone please explain to these twits that some issues, like the so-called Palestinian "right of return" is a non-negotiable, non-starter, and if they don't compromise, they will be right back where they started from. Abbas, King Faud et al. need to get back to the drawing board with Olmert and his crew and get ready to make some significant compromises. The threat of violence will just set back the process for the Palestinian people, and they clearly have more to lose by not compromising than they have to gain.
20. Bilal #1 - check your facts, please
JPS ,   Efrat, Israel   (03.29.07)
"Think of it, Palestinian state living side by side with Israel" Yup, we think about it all the time. However, you seemed to have missed the fact that Hamas, not Abu Mazan, is running the PA. Hamas keeps saying again and again: -no negotiations with Israel -no peace with Israel -no 2 state solution So using your logic we have no choice but to conclude that "The Palestine never wants peace".
21. 59-year- Israel's demanding Unconditional Direct Negotiation
observer   (03.29.07)
Now it comes the time when the Arabs are ready for “Unconditional Direct Negotiation”. But, what we hear is : Perez said: “..and that is the threat they sense from Iran. And here we can use this as leverage for dialogue." … what was not achieved in war would be by diplomacy ! The Allies sided by Russia in WW II, then why shouldn’t the Arabs do the same? Peres said "They will come with their stances and we will come with ours”, then swallowed his words. Livni said “The discussion of the characteristics of the Palestinian state now advances the chance to reach an agreement” … a state is a state, how can you shape it? What is the use of independence then?
22. Arabs go to Hell

27. Arab leaders against Arab people
Isragirl ,   Qiryat Yam, Israel   (03.29.07)
the sad thing is... that uber-wealthy Arab leaders are far more concerned with their postures in the world media, than with the suffering of the little people. They can make offers that they know Israel will reject, and then cry crocodile tears for an average Palestinian kid who will die a violent death. At the same time the painfully needed financial aid gets squandered on more deadly weapons. Even when Arafat's compound was shuttered by our artillery, it didn't hurt his multi-million account in Switzerland. Clever Suha, all these years with him paid off after all...
28. Even when taking "peace" they use threats of violence. Sad.
Shuki   (03.29.07)
29. Arab leaders are about to hit the self-destruct button
Seer ,   USA   (03.29.07)
I smell desperation, don't you? For the Arab world, there will either be reformation or annihilation, and that right soon. Hopefully, they will learn to compromise like grown-ups before it's too late for them.
30. To Bilal, the Muslim from Britannia
Reality Check ,   BaGolan   (03.29.07)
So, as usual Muslims providing misleading info to convince the world that they are the unfortunate souls attacked by the "usurpers." We did notice how quickly the Muslims of Londonstan blamed the CIA and the Mossad for the Londonstan bus and train bombings, even AFTER the Imams took great pleasure in the mass killings; we await with delight the expected dancing in the streets by your people regarding the hostage taking of the Brit soldiers by the leader of the Muslim World! We can only imagine the pure and eternal peace that would come with Muslims living side by side with civilized people. Nice dream! The Muslims would simply blow it up!
