31. Discredited intelligence
Bob ,   New York   (04.01.07)
I don’t understand, when will people understand that all these “western” intelligence agencies have lost credibility after the horrific lies told to get us involved in Iraq. This stream of bs intelligence is just another example of manipulation, misinformation, and propaganda to start more wars. Enough is enough.

Not so soon. More like this fall.
33. Trespassing my ass
Todd ,   MI, USA   (04.01.07)
Iran gave GPS coordinates that PROVED the British, doing a MIO stop on a freighter PER UN sanctions, were in Iraqi waters. No one has done anything because an attack is imminent...why warn the bastards, just start lobbing cruise missiles already!
34. Oil.
Rick ,   bmore   (04.01.07)
The oil sands of Canada have proven reserves of 8 times all of OPEC. And it now costs 14.00 dollars per barrel to process. This production is coming on line.
35. #9 - Mike you are absolutely correct....
Rick ,   Silver Spring, MD   (04.01.07)
and it is the ONLY reason I voted for Bush in '04. He will not leave office with the Iranian threat intact.
36. Bush Is Too WeaK To Attack
GW ,   Pittsburgh USA   (04.01.07)
David... you are right on the $$$$. Glad to see another American can clearly see what is happening these days!
37. I'm stunned
Steve ,   Boston, MA, USA   (04.01.07)
The vast majority of these comments ignore all facts and play on racist sentiments. I'm appalled. It's time for the US to compel Israel to withdraw to the Green Line or cut off all aid. the strategic partnership is a liability. Iran has done NOTHING. The relevant authority in this matter is the IAEA. But I suppose they're just anti-semites, right? Peace

lisa seems to be watching a little too much rosie o'donnell. duh, dumb housewife. i'ts a real shame that she and i both get one vote. what a crock, like theres a big wall seperating the two nations borders in the water. i guess the us hostages taken back in the late 70's were also in the wrong. drink some more Kool aid woman!
39. bob from the REAL CIA
marco ,   pittsburgh/ usa   (04.01.07)
yeah bob, every intelligence agency on the map felt weapons were still present including many in the un. i guess next time we'll just send the CIA to your house for the REAL intel since you know sooo much. damned monday morning quarterback.
40. Lisa, that is so stupid.
Kirk ,   Painesville, OH   (04.01.07)
It wasn't Britian who "revised" where the sailors were "captured"! It was the Iranian jihad a-holes that changed their coordinates! Wake up dummy!

Wow Lisa, I didnt know you were present when the sailors were captured. The news agencies must have overlooked you & your knowledge!
42. Wussies
Gill ,   Boston, MA   (04.01.07)
It's panzies like you what are going to make the US a terrorist strike zone. How could you possibly say Iran has done NOTHING with a straight face? They support Hezbollah, Al Queda, and their crazy president was a charter member of the revolutionary guard that took over our embassy some 25 years ago! Maybe you should take your head out of your rectal cavity and smell the stuff your shovelling!

"Absurd. The exact opposite has been shown to be true repeatedly. Vietnam coming screaming to mind. " Repeatedly? I think not. In fact, your lone example, Vietnam, isn't even correct. The US had begun a policy of bombing in the North which was on course for success until the then Democrat Presdent Lyndon Johnson stiopped the bombing in favor of the so-called Paris Peace Talks in 1968. The result was disastrous when the Democratic Congress cut off funding for the war and we left, leawving million of innocent lives being lost tyo the likes of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rougue.. World War II was won by the Allies due to their control of airsoace over Europe and Japan. Did we have to put boots on the ground of mainland Japan to defeat it? Not a single one. Just two nukes did the job. Iraq One was stunning victory over Iraq's military, again primarily due to our far superior Air Force. I'm not saying that the US will nuke Iraq, I agree that in all probability won't happen. But don't kid yourself that it couldn't if it wanted to.

Like most of the liberals in this country, your are just an ill-informed idot, and for you to believe Iran is predictable because you hate this country. How can you sleep at night, and be okay with yourself?
45. CAUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROBERT ,   FARMINGTON,WV   (04.02.07)
If Bush wanted to he could blow Iran to pieces I just think Iran is being a little to brave for some reason and I think Bush is using caution I'm worried about Iran sleeper cells here in the united States more then the military Iran has.And I'm sure Russia has gave them some goodies. My God forever bless the state of Israel.
46. #24; Lisa; Really " most captured soldiers
Doc Holliday ,   Detroit   (04.02.07)
in history were captured behind "enemy lines" ".You better tell that to Israel It seems that the Pals from Gaza last summer didn't know. Oh yea, I think Hezbollah from Lebanon last summer forgot too!! Didn't they come into Israeli territory in an act of war to kill and kidnap the IDF without any provocation.
47. Wake Up!

"Arabs"? We're talking about Iran here, its not an Arab nation. Arab is an ethnicity. Islam is a religion. Most Iranians are Persian.

WWII was won in the East by our supplies and resource advantage over the Japanese. It was finished with nukes. In Europe it was won by the Red Army on the ground. 80% of Hitler's forces were engaging the Soviet Union from the summer of 1941 onward, and the US and Britain didn't open a Western front in Europe until after the turn of the tide in June 1944 when German forces were already in full retreat in the East.

Sam ,   Southeast Missouri   (04.02.07)
Look here and be edified, Bob: In an exclusive interview with The Sunday Telegraph published on January 25, 2004, Dr. David Kay, the former head of the Iraq Survey Group, said there was evidence that unspecified materials had been moved to Syria shortly before the start of the war to overthrow Saddam. "We are not talking about a large stockpile of weapons," he said. "But we know from some of the interrogations of former Iraqi officials that a lot of material went to Syria before the war, including some components of Saddam's WMD programme. Precisely what went to Syria, and what has happened to it, is a major issue that needs to be resolved." http://www.globalsecurity.org/wmd/world/iraq/nuke.htm

The reason the German troo[s fared so disatrously agiant the Russians was due in large part to the hugely successful bombings of German factories and petrol refineries by Allied planes. Any supply lines to the Russian front were shut down by Allied control of the skies over Europe. In WWII, a huge turning point in the Pacific islands theater was largely due to the decimation of the Japanese Air Firce, most notably in the Battle of the Philippine Sea, during which over 300 Japanese planes were shot out of the sky by Allied planes and a third of their carrier fleet was sunk. And this was 60 years ago. The US air domination is far more advanced now, and it's ability to totallt wipe out an enemy in a matter of days is simply a fact.
52. YNet should Kick Iranians out of forum
Paul Austin ,   OKC, Oklahoma REALLY   (04.02.07)
It appears that most of the comments from "USA" "US" and "united states" are not from the United States at all. Silly comments and silly grammar give you away. HELLO YNet, can't you figure out how to verify where comments are coming from and block the propaganda???

IF WHAT THE ISRALIE INTELLIGENCE IS SAYING IS TRUE ABOUT AN IMPENDING STRIKE, IT WOULD NOT BE UNEXPECTED AND THE PROBABILITY WOULD BE GREATER UNDER A DEM ADMINISTRATION. THE CONFUSION AND THE POLITIC OF THIS PARTY IS JUST WHAT THEY WOULD NEED TO PULL IT OFF. I'M TAKING BETS.

57. I don't believe we will attack
Andrew P ,   Alexandria VA   (04.02.07)
I don't buy it. I've been hearing all these "rumors" that the US will attack last fall, this spring, this summer, next year, etc... It is just a lot of noise in the press. I don't believe that Bush will attack, b/c he knows a conventional attack would be worthless, and the US public and int'l community wouldn't tolerate a full bore nuclear attack, which is the only thing that would work. I think Bush wants ISRAEL to launch a full thermonuclear attack to wipe out Iran, but that hand-wringing liberal Olmert won't do it. He will have to wait a few years until Israel gets a real right wing PM. Maybe that is why Iran is taking hostages to force a confrontation now - when Iran will surely win any non-nuclear war with the US.

The Democrats won the House and have they done any better? And you want to become a Democrat? So far the Democrats have shown nothing but that they are afraid of losing the power they now have. If this were not so they would withdraw all funding without all the pork attacked to any bill but so far they don't have the balls to do so. They have not done a thing but pass bills that go no where .

Lisa, you should stick with knitting because you don't know much about anything. With my hand held GPS ( Do you know what that is? ) I can tell you within 3 feet of exactly where I am 24 hours a day. The capture of the Brits had nothing to do with their position.
