Though I too found the headline of this misleading, as one involved in supporting the fight against the attempted academic boycott of Israeli academics and their institutions here in the UK, I am puzzled as to why Professor Kellner should be so pleased about the export of so poisonous a substance as the views Pappe expresses. Pappe's exploits at his ertstwhile university have made him the darling of the boycotters. That he is coming here to practise his antics within these shores is not at all something to celebrate. Let me refer you to the fact that Israel appointed an Arab MK to a MINISTERIAL position who, as an act of dissent against the Israeli regime, refuses to sing the national anthem. Pappe himself -despite criticism for his sub-par research methods (aka too few and too unreliable sources) - received his salary at a PUBLIC university, although his publications were consistently anti-establishment. If anything, Israel allows so much freedom of dissent that it, at times, compromises Israel's security.
