1. Twisted Truth
Roch ,   Albuquerque NM, USA   (04.08.07)
How is it that the PA makes Israel look bad if they don't respond to the ransom note. They say the ball is in their court? No I don't think so. Do the right thing, let that soldier go, apologize for your crime, the end. Stop twisting the truth!
2. israel:
dan ,   gua   (04.08.07)
don't release anyone. capture more terrorists and negotiate those. in the meanwhile, don't allow any communication, proof of life or comments to reassure their families. do not negotiate with terrorists. you have to show you will not be intimidated, or else you are promoting more kidnappings. be strong!
3. Prisoner exchange
Joe ,   Israel   (04.08.07)
What a bunch of bull. The murderers kidnap an innocent victim and then in a demand for ransom - in this case the release of 450 murderers - talk as if the entire procedure is legitimate. The only legitimate response is to capture and bring to trial all of the kidnappers tgether with those who ordered the kidnapping in the first place.
4. List is top 450 on Murderers Row
malcolm   (04.08.07)
Releasing any of those murderers will result in much more bloodshed. They will arrive in Gaza to a heroes welcome. They will be featured on Hamas & Hizbollah TV - day & night. They will lecture schoolchildren on the virtues of suicide and murder cloaked in the sadistic name "shahid". Israel's deterrent will drop even further.
5. the movies
Julie ,   Hawaii, USA   (04.08.07)
This is like one of those low budget, 1950's, grade C, foreign monster movies where the actors lips are moving but the sound track is not in sync. Liars, like Haniyeh and Abu Mazen, also have the same problem in real life. Buyer beware!
6. There may be no "swap"
Pat ,   Atlanta   (04.08.07)
Regrettably, the family of Cpl. Gilad Shalit must face the very real possibility that they will never see him alive again. The so-called (and self-proclaimed) "Palestinians" have absolutely no intention of EVER releasing him - not while they can continue to make demands and/or receive concessions from Israel. Since all of their demands, including borders and the 'right of return', can never be met, the innocent Shalit will never see is home again. Having stated all this, I hope I am wrong.
7. prisoner swaps today = more kidnapings tommorow
zionist forever   (04.08.07)
Prisoner swaps are a bad idea it might result in the release of Gilad Shalit but it will also result in the kidnapings of many more Israelis because a precident will be set everytime the terrorists want something they kidnap and Israeli and they Israel gives them anything they want in return. Sharon gave hizbollah 400 killers in exchange for 3 corpses and a drug dealer and the terrorists continue to use this tactic prizoner exchanges only make things more dangerous for Israelis not safer. America has a policy that it doesnt negotiate and it works, England refused to negotiate with Iran and in the end got its people back. Israel has one of the biggest terrorism problems in the world but it negotiates and so more people get taken.
8. So deep to sink...
Friend ,   Israel   (04.08.07)
To change one israeli to 450 palestinians seems to me as they really set the real value of their own lifes... That is to sink very deep in my eyes. ( I like a lot of arab people, but I don't think they really like themselves...If they do, they should just ask for ONE prisoner to be released.)
9. they got 1 thing right
dan ,   gua   (04.08.07)
1 israeli is worth for his government mora than 400 palestinians for theirs. their negotiations are right. their values are not.
10. Justice Demands Moral Exchange: One prisoner only for Shalit
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (04.08.07)
A prisoner without blood on his hands. PA Muslims are eager for the prisoners to rejoin the global jihad against Israel and the Free World. ONE PRISONER ONLY FOR SHALIT
11. How Many People Will Die Because Of THis Swap
Sam Weinstein ,   USA   (04.08.07)
How Many Jewish People Will Die Because Of THis Swap. Just like Sheik Yasin the founder of Hamas being swapped. One soldier is not worth it. How many families will ask Olmert why did their family members die for one soldier.
12. ISRAEL PLAYING WITH FIRE
david ,   usa   (04.08.07)
OF THE 450 TERRORISTS YOU PLAN TO RELEASE HOW MANY MURDERS WILL THOSE 450 BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THE FUTURE
13. The whole world have eyes to see...
ben ,   singapore   (04.08.07)
....it is the PA terrorist and the Hamas & Fatah who have to do the correct thing ; to send Shalit home. If I were the military officer, I would have finished the PA Hamas and Fatah heads one by one by now. The IDF Generals have no balls ! We here in this part of the world been watching the developments concerning this boy Shalit and the agony of his parents. We feel the same too. We know if it is not for this boy Shalit by now the whole of Pal Terrorist finished. It is not far away. The time has come !The whole worls has eyes to see the atrocities of the terrorist Govt of the PALs !
14. release them today, target them for elimination tomorrow AM
(04.08.07)
15. The Humiliation Game
J. Yancy ,   Austin, TX   (04.08.07)
Arabs began this game 1st with Israel: 3 dead bodies for hundreds of criminal terrorist murderers? CRAZY!!! Now 15 British soldiers for national humiliation? CRAZY!!! Meanwhile in the US, a NASA astronaut TRIES to spray mace into a car window (of her lover's girlfriend) & will probably get 10 - 15 years in prison for attempted kidnapping???? Using this scale of justice, an ARAB rock-thrower should be given life, and a terrorist murderer death AND THEN THERE WILL BE NO FURTHER PRISONER EXCHANGES... because there will be NO MORE criminal TERRORISTS and NO MORE KIDNAPPINGS!!!
16. no proof that he is still alive.......WHY????
freejay ,   israel   (04.08.07)
17. We should have told the terrorists to free
jason white ,   afula,israel   (04.08.07)
Gilad within two hours and to give us his abductors or we will kill 1,000 terrorists in our jails. After that then it would be 2'000 terrorists and after that the rest. If Gilad is still not returned then we would fire 1,000 artillery shells randomly into gaza each hour till he would be returned with his captors. The only way to deal with them is to hurt them is massive numbers and to cut off food, electricity, water and medical supplies. They are the enemy and should be made to suffer for what they did to us and what they want to do. Finally keep the egyptians out of this. They are the enemy as much as the palis.
18. That's why Peretz should resign NOW!
Yaacov Israel ,   New York, USA   (04.08.07)
19. A swap
James ,   Ramat Hasharon   (04.08.07)
We will give them 120 people for Gilad Shalit. It is only fair. Let us give them the 120 members of the knesset.
20. Give Hamas a Taste of their own Medicine
Tiara r. ,   Boston   (04.08.07)
Send the terrorists home with a goddie bag filled with candy, and souveniers, plastic explosives, and letter bombs... what a classic PLO celebration they will have and as icing on the cake, martyrdom for their handlers!
21. Kidnap and hang all ham-ass leaders first.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica   (04.08.07)
22. Deal??? Recapture Gaza NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
(04.08.07)
23. Morally bankrupt hypocrites
Ilan ,   Ariel   (04.08.07)
If we release people who have been convicted of murder then we are either saying that our court system is "fixed" and it's rulings subject to political realities or we are saying that we consider murder to be not so bad a crime. Either way we are miserable.
24. prisoner
ali t   (04.08.07)
why not kidnap the pals president? then exchange him !
25. Shallit Release
R.seener ,   Jerusalem   (04.08.07)
If murderers are released in a prisoner swap for Shallit, who is there to exchange for Yigal Amir as he has an interminate future in jail without parole or amnesty.
26. #25 is right
James ,   Ramat Hasharon   (04.08.07)
Let us swap Yigal Amir for Gilad Shalit
27. Hamas:deal awaiting Israel's answer
Yehuda Erdman ,   London UK   (04.09.07)
Release as many as it takes, after all it costs Israel huge amounts to imprison these people. The sooner Shalit is returned home to his family the better for them, and all of Israel. That will still leave the even bigger headache of releasing the two captives taken by Hitzbulla, any ideas?
