1. Arab's arent loyal, why should they be?
Russel ,   Tlv   (04.10.07)
Anyone paying atention on memorial day or yom haatzmaut will see Arabs walking about unconcerned while the Jews stand to attention when the siren goes off. This is the reality we face. Now all you have to decide is if you want them in the country or not. They clearly don't want to be a part of it at all. So why fpretend otherwise?
2. I don't understand this
Lednah ,   Europe   (04.10.07)
Almost every week some arab MK call the arabs to attack Israel. Isn't it a treason? How it is possible such sppeches to be tolerated in Israel?
3. DUH !!!!
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (04.10.07)
Loyalty to Israel. Do these people in the knesset ever listen to these socalled israeli arabs? I do not think that any other country in the world would allow this kind off enemies of their state to be government officials. It is sickening though that our tax money pays for these jerks. On the other hand, they are at a similar moral level as most off our knesset members. I think that most of the public here have no illusions about these people. The whole term israeli arab is wrong. You are either a arab or an israeli. With our weakness increasing, our internal enemies will gain strenght. In the middle east weakness is a lethal ingredient ,leading to disaster. Meanwhile they should make Bellin a honorary israeli arab,he would feel much better that way.
4. throw them out with beilin and jews who think like him.
susan ,   israel   (04.10.07)
5. its treason what the Arabs MK are doing
Moses ,   JHB, South Africa   (04.10.07)
They need to be told that; either they with Israel or they leave to go and stay in Syria. Who knows that they even met with Hamas leader Meshaal in Syria? What really they were discussing with Lebanesse and Syrian leaders? They are worst than Hamas because you don't really know were they are standing, so expell them from Israel.
6. The Enemy Within
Not Jewish ,   USA   (04.10.07)
The Arab MK's are traitors to Israel and Israeli interests. They are in the Knesset to weaken and destroy Israel. The Arab's loyalties are to Islam and the Arab MK's will never be loyal to the Jewish state. Israel belongs to the Jews and Arabs belong in Arab nations. Long live Israel.
7. ARAB MK: 'I advised PA to KIDNAP SOLDIER'
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (04.10.07)
Treason and maliciously endangering IDF soldiers' lives by Arab MKs is allowed in Israel whilst patriotic Jews are punished and jailed and regarded as ENEMIES OF THE STATE. It is urgent that demonstrations are held outside the Knesset and outside Israeli consulates world-wide to protest that Arab MKs are allowed to commit treason - collude with the enemy - repeatedly call for intifada against Israel - and encourage global jihadist religious supremacists to kidnap IDF soldiers. And to protest the persecution and politically-motivated, unjust jailing of Jewish patriots. israelnationalnews.com Arab MK: 'I Advised PA to Kidnap Soldier' Jul 09, '06 / 13 Tammuz 5766 by Hillel Fendel Knesset Member Wasal Taha, corresponding publicly with internet surfers on the Arabic-language IslamOnline site, said he repeatedly advised PA terrorists to battle and kidnap Israeli soldiers. According to a report in Maariv newspaper on Sunday, Taha told surfers on Thursday that he repeatedly advised the PA Arabs to stop shooting and targeting civilians, and to concentrate on IDF targets... http://www.israelnn.com/news.php3?id=106857
8. Arab Loyalty
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (04.10.07)
It is unreasonable to expect Arab MKs to be loyal to a "Jewish" state. It is their legitimate right to protect and promote the interest of the Arab community in the country - this is their mandate. However, this is limited wherever Arab interests conflict with the development of free and unrestraint Jewish settlement of the Land of Israel and Jewish control of its resources, at which point Jewish interests must take precedent. Afterall, this is the Land of Israel.
9. Yossi Beilin, “We know their bad, its our fault”
Yonatan Koss ,   Chiloquin   (04.10.07)
No matter how many rivers of Jewish blood Beilin and company wade through, they will insist arabs are really kind. They can hear, feel and taste the disloyalty but the left wing dogma will keep them from calling a spade a spade.
10. Threat to Israel
Brod ,   USA   (04.10.07)
There should be NO Arab Islamist-Jihadists in the Knesset or the government. Their loyality is to their religion and not the country and nation. They are a threat to Israel.
11. Limit Arab Israelis
Simon ,   Jerusalem   (04.10.07)
Israel is a state for the Jewish people and there comes a time that even secular and religious people realise that the number of Non-Jews living in Israel has to be limited for our survival and our future. A limit should be place on the number of children coming from Arab and non-Jewish families. Also the veil has to be banned from Muslim women for our general safety. if the european union can have a rule, so can we! lift the veil!
12. Orlev Is 100% Correct.
Terry ,   Eilat, Israel   (04.10.07)
But I'm sure we'll do nothing about it until it blows up in our face.
13. It is because of people like Beilin that the Arabs have
Judith, Haifa   (04.10.07)
grown so bold. They have always felt that the left supports them in their quest to destroy the State of Israel. 2. Even though the real reason for Azmi's escape from Israel still has a gag on it, most of us know what it is about. .and believe me it's serious. 3. The cheeky Arabs would never dream of opposing the existance of racist Arab Muslim states. 4. Somehow in their warped minds a Jewish state is racist and Islamic states are not. Hogwash. When Islamic states stop being Arabic / Muslim, they will be able to criticize the existence of a tiny single Hebrew/Jewish state. 5. I'm quite sure that Azmi 's new life in an Arab Muslim state will teach him how stupid he was. He will miss the real freedom he spat on. 6. Hope he never shows his ugly face back here.
14. Orlev the inciter
Rami ,   Nazareth, Israel   (04.10.07)
I don’t see how the resignation of Bishara will harm Israel’s security?? If anything rightwinger should be happy. , Orlev’s statement of prediction an “insurgence” are baseless and pure incitement. Israeli arabs see their future in Israel and will never consider such an act. I do not see any difference between Orlev or Salah of the Islamic movement, both are inciters who harm peace and coexistence.
15. loyalty
Moshe ,   new York   (04.10.07)
There is no reason that this country lacks a pledge of allegiance, if not to the Jewish quality of the country then to the country itself, the idea that they can be in bed with sworn and open enemies of ours and not face repercussions is ludicrous.
16. strictly according to the law.....
Jack Klaber ,   R. Hasharon, Israel   (04.10.07)
Every MK has sworn loayality to the State of Israel. If this loyality has become uncertain due to certain actions of the MK in question, then this MK should be judged/investigated by his peers (a.k.a. other MK's, a MK comittee, or an instiution empowered by the MK's). This is simple and straight forward thinking and has nothing to do with the political alliance of the MK in question, nor those of the writer of the article nor those of the writer of this talkback . All wishiwashi that MK's of both ends of the IL spectrum try to introduce into the issue is mostly non-related and serves only the issue of not dealing with the real issue! And what that exactly is needs first of all to be defined by the MK in question in his appearance in front of the committee that is investigating him. Preferrably in a open session so we all can hear and judge for ourselves. There should not be anything that is not suitable for our ears.
17. And one more thing...
Keren ,   SP-now in Israel   (04.10.07)
That I have just written in another article but fits here as well, and I would like to repeat: Why should they(arabs) serve in the Israeli banks, then? Are arabs in Israel loyal to the Jewish State? Why should them, then, be protected, why? I can not understand very well what goes on here in Israel. I observe that ALL employees in the construction sector, and many in the public sector, are arabs, and the whole majority of them, arabs from the Jewish territories- they are occupying, since Israel WON all wars THEY-arabs- started! So...I can not understand why Jews employ enemies to build their country?. Let's say that some israeli arabs should be employed(I don't agree, since they don't do the army and don't like us,what is clear)but lets say they should;but ,WHY arabs from the territories ,why? If Jews don't want to put their own hands in the construction,so do not construct!but don't thrive enemies! This is obvious;logical! If we don't sight the future and act only for our momentous interests, like a well constructed house,or a well constructed building or what ever, the future will be the way we act now,and in Israel's case it will be an strenghened arab sector,an strenghtened enemie sector! Why don't start a future visioning politics already? Why don't start already doing ,and planning ,in the present what we desire for the future? Let arab "autorities" take care of them.Jews should take care of their owns FIRST and then our friends and ONLY!
18. This shows how weak we are, we have no leaders with a spine
שילוה ,   ישראל   (04.10.07)
We are on a path of self destruction. The left and Arabs have done a better job at keeping the festering wound open. As Jews, we need to wake up and take a stand, with protests, with voting out the clowns (if we have someone to replace them is the question). We better start to stand strong before it's too late. We are not far off from no turning back.
19. TERRY --
Simon ,   Jerusalem   (04.10.07)
No 11 # so true, its as if you know the Israeli government like you know yourself.. its about time the israeli government took action before it was needed.. lets not be so western about things lets be like the enemy.. and then they won't ever try to deal with us again.. we might have to lower ourself for three days.. but it will work.. and the rest of the world will realise there is actually a way to deal with these people who just want and want.. but when they get, they don't want.. they just want more.. but hey, you need to take and do with what you get..
20. Beilin and company are the real racists.!.
Steve ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (04.10.07)
They don't hold the Israeli-Arab population up to the same standards as everyone else in this country. A racist does not have the same respect and expectations for all its citizens. Making excuses for di-loyality by some members of our country only contributes to a racist policy that Meretz seems to encourage.
21. Just some more Iranian seeds bearing fruit
malcolm   (04.10.07)
The Olmert/Livni Lebanon Surrender just took it to the next level. Israel is under the rule of Iran for a long time now. When the Olmert/Livni government is deposed, Israel can finally shake off it's overlords in Tehran....if Bibi has the balls.
22. #18
Simon ,   Jerusalem   (04.10.07)
I will stand as PM.. :-) 1) Full borders - retake any land that the Palestinians don't want.. once I have made them a final offer.. 2) Peace declaration - forced - if no Palestinian state created a greater Israel - basically colony state created for Palestinians.. with a Knesset/democracy created for a Palestinian state known as Greater Israel. Then ... finally policy for ISRAEL - Looking at improving Education, education, health, health, poverty, poverty, poverty, a clear cut of modern Israel - Judaism declassified as a religion as a people.. a Knesset of Religion created to finally solve the problems between the religion that has become Judaism.. dialogue between all sects and respect and tolerance between all - a must. (no breaks for the Rabbis of the meeting till a decision is made on outright peace between all!). finally a Jewish people can do the message they are on earth for.. being a shining example to the world.. we can show the world that not only are we great with science, business, money but also being a united people able to make a bigger difference.. Tel Aviv will become the New Dubai, the Negev will become the latest Eden Project - where nature and science comes together to create new sources of energy and a new style of living.. and a greenhouse built across the desert with a canal from the medit to feed it.. built! Am Yisrael!
23. Agree with #20
Iossef ,   J'lem, Israel   (04.10.07)
It is exactly what I think. kol ha kavaod ! A non racist ask exactly for the same level of quality, education, loyalty etc etc from everybody, independantly of its origins. A non-racist state is a state which gives to everybody the capability to reach this level of exigency. The racist is the one who believe that he is so better and so much more clever than the other that he cannot have for the other the same demand as for himself. And that's it. Nekouda.
24. Liberalism is a mental disorder
yoni ,   jerusalem   (04.10.07)
25. azmi bishara
mark ,   westfield usa   (04.10.07)
I am an american who happens to be of the jewish religion. I would never do anything to hurt my country, the United States! I think Israel needs to have a loyalty test, and those who refuse it should be banned from voting or running in the knesset. Just as America is predominantly a christian nation, and I accept that, so too is Israel a jewish nation. Those that do not accept that need to get out!
26. #14 Rami, did you vote for this guy?
aaron ,   ra'anana   (04.10.07)
only half of israeli arabs vote for the arab parties - does that mean the other half actually want to be israelis?
27. Existential Threat....Again?
new_york_loner ,   Rochester, NY   (04.10.07)
Here we go again, the same old, tired mantra - "Orlev said the Arab MKs’ covert acts pose a real threat to Israel’s existence as a Jewish state.” Is there any public criticism that the Israeli government doesn't view as an existential threat? Speaking of hysterical rhetoric, US Rep. John Boehner whined about an existential threat to Israel, if the Democrat's Iraq War funding bill were to be signed into law. He was just following orders from his Israeli overlords; John Boehner thinks that he represents the Jewish State, he actually represents a single Congressional District in Ohio. Israel cries, "Wolf!", on a daily basis. Give it a rest already. When a genuine existential threat eventually appears, nobody, save a few ideolgues, will actually believe it. That's the price of habitual lying, exaggeration and hyperbole.

mahi ,   jerusalem   (04.10.07)

29. This does not raise a quesion, this gives a straight answer
Oleg ,   USA   (04.10.07)
They are not loyal!!!!!!!!!!!!!
30. Citizenship
Roch ,   Albuquerque NM, USA   (04.10.07)
As a Christian in the United States I enjoy freedoms not seen in other places. But, I owe a debt of gratitude to the Jewish people for the Bible, Prophets and the Messisah. Because I am not Jewish by blood, at least I don't think I am, I am not allowed to become a citizen of Israel. I would love to become a citizen of Israel as I know God's promises for Israel. How I wish that laws would be enacted to expel those who hate Israel and open for those who love Israel. At the same time I understand the Jews distrust of anyone, including Christians after what Christians did to the Jews in the name of Chrisitianity. But with time, I pray that Israel would come to trust "true" Christians and allow citizenship. It is beyond me how these Israeli Arabs would advocate the destruction of the very thing that should be their hope for a future. I am not advocating that I wish to denounce my US citizenship, as long as the USA supports Israel. To that end I would love to have duel citizenship and would be honored to be allowed in your country, not as a welfare case, but as a productive citizen.
