1. First steal our land, then our food?
Dude from Gaza ,   Gaza City, biatch.   (04.12.07)
At least I can sleep well knowing that no Israeli will ever match Abo Talal's Falafels from Gaza! Ever!
2. GILLERMAN FOR PM. HE'S GOT THE GOODS
GILLERMAN FOR PM ,   GILLERMAN FOR PM   (04.12.07)
3. o hell yeah
Andy ,   Tempe,Az USA   (04.12.07)

4. gillerman
dovie ,   new york, usa   (04.12.07)
Oh, what a way to shift public opinion toward Israel, have the UN representative read from a porno script and having a consul general in NY portray Israel as land of easy sex and cheap good looking girls. Well, some Jews do spread filth and pornography and that is not going to result in admiration and sympathy because victory and money come from Above and Hashem detests this behavior and attitude. We have so much to offer to the world besides pornography and filth. We will be victorious but not through stooping low and selling ourselves. May Hashem shower in His kindness the Chosen People with blessings and Blessed be the Land of Israel. Is Rabbi Brackman going to read from the porno script too? Sorry rabbi but please stay away from this garbage.
5. to #1 best falafel
yosef   (04.12.07)
The Falafel stand in Binyamina near the train station is pretty good. It would be nice to compare to Abo Talal in Gaza. Sadly, while Dude could come to Binyamina (without bomb or knife) and eat and enjoy, no Jew could come to Abo Talal without being chopped up and fried with the falafel. As for the origins of Falafel, the real Egyptians (ancestors of the Copts who live as Dhimmi under the Arab apartheid regime) invented it long before the Arabs left the Arabian desert. Sorry Dude.
6. Lighten up #4
Iris ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (04.12.07)
7. re #4
dan ,   aus   (04.12.07)
It was meant to be comical. As #6 said, you should really lighten up. I'm sure even God has a sense of humor.
8. Our food?
josef cohen ,   bkk thailand   (04.12.07)
Falafels were popularized by early Christian communities, as a meat substitute during Lent. Starting in Egypt, and spreading thru out N. Africa and the Levant in Byzantine times. HUNDREDS of years before the Arab conquest! and coincidentally all places with substantial Jewish populations. Any other achievements you wish to claim? The library in Alexandria? For consideration, Josef Cohen
9. Love them both, great combination
Sarah ,   Modiin, Israel   (04.12.07)
Gillerman has got to be one of the best UN representatives we've ever had, and Jon Stewart is fabulous. Way to go both of them; its about time we get some better PR.
10. the map of israel they showed
papa jay   (04.12.07)
wonder what happend to judea and gaza? seemed israel was gutted
11. Mad respect to Gillerman for going on DS
AR ,   USA   (04.12.07)
But it would have been better if he was asked questions relating to serious issues in regards to israel which Jon stewart actually brought up just after the interview. Any the script wasnt a porno i dont know what the author is talking about. It was in no way pornographic. The author obviously knows nothing about american pop culture.
12. So number 5, the real Egyptians
Salah ,   Egypt   (04.12.07)
have nothing to do with the Muslims Egyptians! Only with the Christian Egyptians!! How stupid is this, and racist. so the fact that Egyptians are muslims in the most is enough reason for you to disconnect them from their history. Also, Arabians left the Arabian desert long 5000 years ago. Canaanites, to Amorites, to Nabateans to Ghassanids were all Arabians... Moreover, Copt for your info many of them descend from Greece during the Batlimos rule, and the Roman period. So Egyptians whether Muslim or Christian have mixed up significantly in the last 5000 years ago... Only people who are racist like you will never mix and will rotten.....
13. gillerman's appearance, dovie's (no) sense of humor
Raymond from DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (04.12.07)
Dovie either didn't see the Stewart piece, or has no sense of humor. It was tongue in cheek satire, with no "filth" at all. The comments about a country "run by Jews" or Hollywood Jews were a slam against anti-Semites. That's how satire works, fella. One always wonders whether the targets of these mock interviews know they're being set up. Gillerman played it straight, but his retort about the "Fisraeli ambassador" is classic Jewish humor. He's one of the few prominent Israelis whose performance during last summer's conflict merits respect.
14. Best Falfael is in Ramat Gan main square
to number 1 ,   Israel   (04.12.07)
15. I wish
Nomi ,   PT   (04.12.07)
that Ambassador Gillerman would come home, become Prime Minister, and make us proud of our country once again.
16. #4 You're boring us
Rifkele ,   TA   (04.12.07)
I hope they translate the dubious goings on in the frightening Vishnitz power houses, appearing in today's hebrew Ynet, for you. That will suit your unconvincing show of piety and give you much more nachas, sad man. I'll stick with Ambassador Gillerman, who is a mensh, and charming too, unlike yourself. We're Shomrei Shabbat /Kashrut by the way . This (probably) gives us something in common with you unfortunately.
17. #1, #5
Scott ,   Haifa   (04.12.07)
#1 from Gaza, I agree whole-heartedly with #5 yosef...I would love to try your falafel at Abo Talal's but unfortunately any Israeli who sets foot in your territory of chaos will probably either wind up in the falafel or like those two reservists who took a wrong turn to Ramallah. Yet you can come to Israel freely (without bomb or knife). How do you explain that, I'm curious, I'd like to see your answer. #5, I know which stand you are talking about, great one, and their pita is so good too.
18. 1, 5, & 17 - on Fallaphel and Gazains
Terry   (04.12.07)
Actually a few years back there was a terror attack blast right at the enterence to the train station, not far from the mentioned fallafel stand.
19. #12 The Real Egyptians
Semsem ,   New York, USA   (04.12.07)
The Copts are considered the descendents of the Pharoes. However many converted to Islam. Egypt experienced a lot of immigration from throughout the region such as Greece etc so many are mixed. However it is true that the Copts are a persecuted minority in Egypt.
20. re:12 Copts and Greece
josef cohen ,   bkk thailand   (04.12.07)
It was a popular proposition that the Cristian communities thruout the ME were remants of ancient Greek Communities. However recent DNA evidence refutes this. Coptic people are indeed largely an indigenous North African population. Furthermore it better explains why they spoke Coptic rather than some corrupted form of the Greek language. Coptic translates into Egyptian, and like the people is indigenous to Egypt. For consideration, Josef Cohen
21. point well taken, it is funny
dovie ,   ny, usa   (04.12.07)
Laughing at jokes by Jews about Jews for (primarily) Jews. It also gives us that warm feeling that some of the gentiles will share this humor with us and feel good about us. The Judea, Samaria and Golan were absent from the map of Israel although by most American accounts Golan should have been included. the following are the two funny (not)sites for you from the wellwishers among the enlightened heathens in America. http://www.vanguardnewsnetwork.com/ http://www.aryanmatters.com/main.html With best wishes
22. #12 Sorry, your are a muslim arab not an ancient egyptian
Dan ,   Haifa   (04.12.07)
The Ancient Egyption were killed by the arabs (And BTW, 5000 years ago there were no arabs at all. The arab language isn't that new and an arab is someone who comes from the arabic desert (Saudi Arabia) and speaks arab. The Canaanites got nothing to do with arabs, they were long before them and got nothing to do with the geneticly. Egypt and it's piramids got more to do with the jews than with the Arabs. Muslims I am sorry to tell you, killed all the people they saw on the land they conqured but they take credit for what they had nothing to do with. D.N.A tests where made with the mummis and with ancient bodys of the people who lived in Lebanon and Egypt ect' and the arabs of today got nothing to do with them. Sorry to pop your dream.
23. Dove in the Ghetto and modern Israel
Donna ,   Netanya   (04.12.07)
Hey Dovie, learn that Israelis like to live in the modern world and not in the middle ages like you do. We deserve a little comic relief, living here can be a bitch sometimes. The Daily Show is a poke at politics, it is not "Meet the Press". I thought your "sects" shunned TV, what are you doing on the BOOB tube, anyhow? PS Your butt sits in NY. Mine is in Netanya. Danny Gillerman doesn't speak for you. If g-d wants to come, the Daily Show appearance won't stop the process. That honour might fall on Jews in Mea Shearim who work to see Israel fall.
24. Best falafel is in...
Mike ,   Israel   (04.12.07)
Thornhill, Ontario, Canada. The place is called Tov Li. The owners are from Haifa of tunisian descent. I wish we had it in Israel. If they read this post, come home, we need your falafel goodness.
25. Earth to Dovie
Arielush ,   Israek   (04.12.07)
Earth to Dovie, We want to turn people on to Israel, we don't want to turn them off. If we want to draw in the X generation living in the diaspora we want to show them a trendy, thriving country not a shteitle or yishiva. Anyway, no one cares what you think. You live in New York. If Israel was wiped off the map of the world tomorrow you'd light a couple candles, attend a couple demonstrations and then go on with your narrow little life. For those of us who live here, this is home.
26. Facts
Egyptian   (04.12.07)
Most genies studies in Egypt confirmed that the current population of Egypt is related to the ancient Egyptians and that the Semitic genetics is less than 10 percent.
27. Dan 22, hahaha, go and read some book or two
(04.12.07)
to get more serious knowledge. You defintely do not know what you are talking about. Arabs: Those who speak Arabic. Arabian: Those who originally came from Arabia. Arabic is an international language just like english. The fact that people speak it around the world does not necessarily make them descendendent of Arabia. Also, I concur with Salah in Egypt. The history of ancient Arabia includes those Arabian tribes who left Arabia seeking for water and food. This includes the Canaanites, Nabateans, Amorites, etc... Even the Ghassanids who the levant under the Roman period were Arabs who speak the modern Arabic we know today. All these Arab/Arabians existed long before Islam spread throught the world and not on the ME. Finally, there is no records of Geonocide as you say. The indigenous population in most Areas Islam went into converted. It is not that Arabs from Arabia replaced the indigenous population in the ancient world. To prove you wrong again, only in 40 years after the Death of the Prophet Muhammad, Islam reached China and Spain. Arab rule spread from China to Spain. This does not mean that the population from China to spain was replaced by Arabs!!
28. #24
G ,   Toronto   (04.13.07)
They are in Toronto not Thornhill and while the falafel is very good by Canadian standards there is better falael in Israel.
29. #17 here are the answers :)
Dude from Gaza   (04.13.07)
1. Every Israeli that enters Gaza is a heavily-armed IDF soldier that goes to kill people (usually with a bomb or a gun or by Apache, not a knife). 2. I don't know where you got your information, but I could NOT enter Israel (even without a bomb or a knife). The permits are NOT being issued anymore, not even to the West Bank (not even student visas!), even less to Israel, so please get your facts straight then come post. :)
30. What you are all arguing over is funnier than the daily show
Korem ,   New York, USA   (04.14.07)
How did a debate about who invented falafel end up going into a debate about Ancient Egyptian genetics. lol.....
