In June 1967 David (Dado) Elazar's troops attacked Syria and won the Golan, later to be annexed by PM M.Begin. However, there is no peace for 40 years. Assad to go with him to Jerusalem there does not exist a serious peace initiative from Israel and today the US is not interested in peace in this area except in a Pax-Americana.

A Syrian border on top of Lake Kinneret is not a workable solution. All for an illusory promise to stop fomenting terror. Israel must hold on to at least the portion of the Golan in this area - and should never give Syria a strategic advantage. Our security depends on this.
