An observation from back when I had to show up for reserve duty. The burden of reserve duty is not evenly shared. There were all sorts of people that would get excused and for those of us who had no excuse, we were required to show up almost religiously for up to 50 days a year and back in the "good old" days sometimes up to 90 days a year. It was always the same folk that would be called up. It reflected poor planning, at times involved favoritism, and since the military (back then) did not have to pay for the days spent in uniform, it rarely cared for the number of people it actually needed for the job otr the impact it had on the economy. No wonder we have these high levels of dissatisfaction.

Jail the management of companies who fire reservists or steal their salary. Make sure reservists are the first to be hired and the last to be fired. Those who do not want to do reserve duty should do two months of physical labor cleaning roads and streets, planting forests, ect. Only reservists should receive child allowances, higher education, better mortgages, driver's licenses and permission to open and operate a business.
