There was no reason for charging the policeman fulfilling his duty. He actually saved his colleagues life plus his own. In imminent danger of being run over second time, of course he shoots. I would, too, definitely have shot. Remember: the killed Arab was a car thief in the middle of doing his "job". Justice served, the policeman is free.

car theft is not punishable by death. Attacking the police first by running over a policeman and then by trying to snatch a detainee from police custody surely entitles the officers to take some action, even in the US or UK or elsewhere. It even appears that the officer warned Dari that he would be shot if he did not stop.
