When will zionists get it right? it is not animosity topwards Israel otr its people, it is not animosity towards the Jewish faith (as always claimed by zionist propaganda) It is just animosity towards the acts and policies of Israel in the occupied territories, it is just animosity towards the occupation and the imprisonmennt of a whole population group simply because they are different or their faith is different. It is animosity agasinst the human rights violations and abuses at the checkpoints, at the hands of the brutal Israeli border police. By the way those violations and excesses are documented on the websites of numerous Israeli human rights organizations. I suggest that zionists stop their pathetic boring repeated terms of anti semetism and anti israelism each time israeli policy is critised and attempts are made to expose the brutality of those policies against another population group

I liked your article Mr. Burden. But if you are no longer a member of the NUJ is it still possible to be a regular journalist in the UK? And like an earlier talkback, I'd be interested to know if your article was or could be published in Britain(other than a Jewish newspaper). If so, where?

The whole UK Media (Press+TV/Radio) is virtually 100% Anti Israel. Day after day the "hymn of hate" is the same .Unfortunately ,it is hard to seperate Anti Israel from Anti Jew even if that is the intention. The public see them both in one light for no special reason after exposure to this "Der Sturmer" newspaper/TV journalism. . "If you are a Jew you must be a Zionist ,so I will overturn your late Mothers tombstone and beat your 11 year old daughter up on the upstairs of a London bus!" I believe a lot of Media people must be bribed or in some way given benefits in exchange for their fervour in Israel bashing. One small but relevant correction. The NUJ boycott is on "Israeli goods". Why single out the BBC for its failure to use the "T" world. ALL the English language foreign news channels we see here in Israel, including our good friends at Fox News Channel, use the word "militants". The Wikipedia defines "militant" as follows: "The word militant has come to refer to any individual or party engaged in aggressive physical or verbal combat, normally for a cause" so the usage is correct. Regarding the TV News media's anti Israel stance, you must take into consideration that the Arabs, led by Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia, have huge share holdings in US and other Western corporations. During the Muslim riots in Paris, Fox News Channel's headline was "Muslims riot in Paris". The headline was changed to "poverty riots in Paris" after the prince's 30 second phone call to Rupert Murdoch, the head of News Corp, the parent of Fox. At the time the prince boasted about this and a number or articles about his "power" were written. You might remember that SkyNews is also part of News Corp. Britain has a long and sordid history of anti-Semitism and her appeasing of the Arab World is nothing new. A perfect example of this was the disgusting behavior of 15 service personnel captured by the Iranians. The Blair Government allowed this episode to make Britain the laughing stock of the world. However, the bad press that Israel receives from foreign journalists can be blamed on our lack of aggressive public relations. There is no Israeli News Channel broadcasting 24 hours a day. Our TV News are slow in covering events that matter and our camera crews take a very long time to get to the scene. Thus there is no way that Israel can counter false accusations when they happen. The apathetic attitude by the governments of this country are based on that old and outdated statement attributed to Golda Meir that Israel doesn't have to apologize for anything. Other things that add fuel to the fire of hatred are the constant scandals and the corruption that are so evident here. Yes, these things do happen in other countries but other countries are not Israel, the home of the Jewish scapegoat since the beginning of time. Our media moguls, the Government and the communications industry must wake up to the facts of live of the 21st Century. News, good or bad, is now! What happened and hour ago is old news and has no interest. It is no use countering manipulated photos and reports days or weeks after they happened. Our TV News people have to open up and encourage public views by e-mail and SMS. Our Channel 2 News doesn't have an e-mail address and Seder Olami has a phone number which is busy all the time! Only a full time news channel in a number of languages can counter the actions of organizations like the National Union or Journalists and the Academic Unions in the UK and other countries. We have a choice, the "status quo" of apathy or get go on an aggressive PR campaign to counter the brilliant Arab propaganda being used so effectively against us.

Khalid, I'm afraid they won't get it, ever! The motion called for the end of Israeli aggression in Gaza and other occupied territories. It's against actions made by the state of israel, not against religion, but you can't complain about israeli politics without being called an anti-semite.

The article never claimed that people who criticise Israel are anti-semitic. So please stop claiming that it did.

The UK must be denied entry into Israel. They need to be classified as "enemy combatant". These journalists ignore the fact that the Palestinians hold reporters hostage! Will they blame Israel for that?

I have read the Times of London and at times have been completely appalled. The only thing Burden doesn't mention is the blatant Jew Hate underlying it all. There is simply no other explanation for it.

From what Burden writes, it looks like the rot in the UK's journalism profession is deep and wide. It leads to a big question mark over the universities in the UK, where journalists are taught. Or does it? With a history of marxist-leninism woven throughout the labour movement and upper education in the UK, it's not surprising that the end result is a generation of pseudo-professionals. A journalist (at least the ones who taught me) is charged with striving for the truth and to present the facts to the reader - and the reader is supposed to make up their mind as to what the story means to them. Marxist-Leninists, of course, believe that their system does the thinking for everybody, and passing lies off as facts is SOP. Small wonder that a generation of Anglo journalists are now out slanting the news to reflect their revolutionary views. That's what they were taught. They actually do think that what they're doing is real journalism, rather than see themselves as the propaganda tools of their cause (which they of course are).

This is not about Israeli's but about Islamofasicists call to kill Jews. Fix your own religion. There are some serious problems with the modern day application of Islam. It is highly racist and extremely violent. Its not even about Israel. These crazy Muslims are doing it EVERYWHERE in the world. I am not condemning Islam or Muslims. I have some good friends who are Muslim from different parts of the world, but these Islamofascists are the greatest threat to the world. Fix Islam and peace will happen.
